I don't know WHY, but I agree. This one has such unusual choices of notes and shapes - I'm a guitarist and it's clearly worked-out and composed. LOVE IT.
Does anyone know he sings about "Louise Fazenda and Buster Keaton" at 1:42! They were both amazing actors of the silent generation. How did Phil Mogg even know about this back then? Brilliant writing...
I have just rediscovered this beautiful song (after a gap of 30 years!) and looked up some of the lyrics. It appears to be about a stage actress that has fallen upon hard times/grown old (references to "silver shoes. . . and tragedy never ending". "Out in the streets for just one more matinee, yes your Vaudeville carries on". Also references to "comic book impersonations, Louise Fazenda and Buster Keaton").
@@portcullis5622 Thank you , after all these years.. since 1979 80 .. I saw them at LA Coliseum 1980 .. they were great .. Schenker made the guitar playing look easy .. we all know it wasn't ... Pete Way . . Paul Raymond.. they were great! I'm sorry to forget the drummers name. Phil Mogg singer .. sorry to say but he was the reason why Michael Schenker left ..
Lady loves to hang on Lady liked a real intellectual Sweet sister your still shaking And your tragedy is never ending Silver shoes you're wearing Every window that you've ever stared in Over my head, over my head Sidewalks of the city And every theater there you've ever played Your comic book impersonations Your wish for cinders embers to keep Over my head, so it' all Out in the street for just one more matinee Yes, your vaudeville carries on So put a smile in front your man can see Yes, your vaudeville carries on Lady loves to hang on Lady liked a real intellectual Sweet sister your still shaking And your tragedy is never ending Silver shoes you're wearing Every window that you've ever stared in Over my head, over my head
What did the "real intellectual" do to make "sweet sister" shake in the 1st place ? I strongly suspect homegirl`s "never-ending tragedy" to come down to the following: "Sweet sister" cannot help falling for abusive men time & again. Even a man so sophisticated as to pass for a "real intellectual" proves to be a vicious abuser, if not of women in general, so at least of this particular woman.
