The Story of Wrestling’s Catalyst: Jay White 

Jay White is hands down one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. And since AEW introduced Collision, Jay White is becoming a top guy in AEW. His NJPW career has been impressive, a successful gaijin, who after conquering Japan, is ready to be Elite.

He was able to fill the shoes of Omega pretty well in Bullet Club. He is going to be all anybody talks about within 5 years.

I honestly love how so many mainstream wrestling fans have literally no clue how complex a character Jay White is and what a subtle compelling storyteller he can be. Mark my words, this guy is gonna be matching Punk and MJF once he gets a proper main event storyline.

I grew up in the same little small town in New Zealand as Jay White. Crazy to think that someone from this little obscure corner of the world is absolutely killing it in pro-wrestling and he's not even at the top of his game yet!

Also, the way he left NJPW professionally, making sure to not burn any bridges between NJPW and AEW, was absolute class. AEW didn’t want to sign the ppl away from partners, but absolute props to NJPW for doing good business and to Jay White for being the CATALYST to make it happen

I remember seeing Jay White while watching ROH as a teenager and thinking "Dang man, this guy's gonna be something when he returns from excursion" and I'm glad that prediction was correct. BC Gold has been my favorite part of Collision as of late, even overtaking Punk so there's an amazing sign of him and the rest of the group doing great work.

In my opinion, David Finlay NEVER took over Bullet Club. He's just a weak front, while Gedo is the one pulling the strings (i.e., forming the War Dogs). *Jay White* is who people discuss Collision and Bullet Club Gold. Whichever AEW babyface or tweener who ends the reign of MJF by 2024, TK & the staff should consider White as a good choice to be the next top heel champion.

Switchblade has the ability and Pedigree to be AEWs next big Champ. Like the next Omega.

I was so glad and so impressed that Jay transplanted to AEW with his Switchblade persona intact - same name, music, entrance, slashmarked tights, the whole deal. It showed me that Tony respects the work Jay has done in growing and establishing his image (zero chance WWE would have shown him that courtesy) and would not make him start over from scratch. Now that he's getting more microphone time and building a great tag team run with Juice I agree the sky is the limit for him in AEW.

Jay White will be AEW champ within the next two years.

I watched the Recount documentary on NJPW regarding Bullet Club so when I saw Jay White all freshed face, he just seemed like a star. I never imagined he would be SUCH a star.

Not to mention that Jay has yet to be pinned or submitted in any match at all in AEW since his first appearance last year for the promotion; he's being protected to the nth degree. He'll definitely be world champion sometime in 2024.

CM Punk and FTR have shown the casual audience just how good Jay White can be. This Jay White reset in Collision after his lacklustre arrival was everything he needed. and lets not also forget Juice Robinson. Here's hoping he we havent seen the end of BCGs tag title shots.

I have loved this man since he can back as the switchblade the way he moves like a snake,he wrestles so differently from everyone in njpw. He was so beyond his years and very believable

I think Jay White will be the on to take AEW over the top as having a bonafide A list act.

I was not very familiar with Jay White's body of work in Japan, but the few NJPW matches featuring him I saw had always left a positive impression. I must say his AEW debut was a bit underwhelming and I was afraid he could have been another of the talents that get lost in the shuffle, but so far he has been with Juice the one who benefitted the most from the debut of Collision, where until now he has been presented as a top guy. Damn, even notorious AEW hater Jim Cornette complimented him as a worker after seeing the two masterpieces against FTR. While now the big Collision feud seems to be Punk vs Starks, I would expect Jay playing a big role in 2024.

So happy to see Jay finally getting mainstream attention. I was a Jay White apologist since day one.

Jay White is one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. His mic work is good, he plays the crowd like no other. His heel work in NJPW was so good that they had to team up long time rivals Tanahashi and Okada. His in ring work is great that he doesn’t need to do any high flying maneuvers to captivate the audience.

It took him a bit to make the Switchblade character work, but by the time he led BC he was a Top Tier guy. His in ring storytelling, character work and promos were outstanding. I breathe with the Switchblade.

I will choose him over hangman every time . hangman push feel very forced to me so never really got behind him, but this guy is born to be the top guy everywhere.

Jay White is the MVP of Collision so far, easily.

Jay White is just 30 years of age and he has accomplished so much. He's an underrated legend of NJPW Wrestles like a 20-25 year veteran while he has been in this business for a decade now. Sky is the limit for him. I hope he becomes the first ever AEW grand slam champion. That's going to be another historic record in the era of SWITCHBLADE 🗡️

Jay White has quickly become my No. 1 favorite wrestler. I was always a fan of his work in NJPW. But now that ive been able to watch him weekly on American Television, ive found a new appreciation for his work.

I love Jay White in AEW. Everytime he is on my screen, he has been entertaining us with great matches. Him and Juice Robinson. Those two are like a good turkey sandwich. I hope they both stay and build Bullet Club Gold into something bigger

Gotta love all those haters saying AEW was burying him because he didn't have the strongest start. You would think by now people would know, don't bet against AEW cause whenever they bet they go All In. Give them time to tell the story, and you won't be disappointed.

Hey Tranquilo! That was the fluid, fact-based, full-blown story of The Young Lion, Switch Blade, The Catalyst of Pro-Wrestling Scene, & The Chosen One, JAY WHITE... Thank You for letting us know (some, Well, Mostly) Why he is called All of those names! 🙌🙏 His Story before All Elite Wrestling is the most intriguing, a lesson to learn on how one can rise to the top within a short amount of time, rising with the likes of the Gods of NJPW Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, among others, and being the Best... A Chaos faction member and the Bullet Club Leader fill up a great void of The Elite leaving to start AEW and running with the ball... Forbidden Door 1 was, in a sense, actually presented to a wide Western audience, & he found a profound place to leave his legacy where he set foot at the greatest possible time of the year! And the rest is what we are seeing here in AEW, with Collision, he has the time, place, & possibly everything to do what he does best, and we can watch all of that & enjoy it.

"This is the guy you build your company around" - 100% and as well as being one of the top wrestlers in the world, he's still only 30 years old. He hasn't yet hit his peak. I predict he'll the one to dethrone MJF, or beat Punk for whatever was in his sack to become the world champion of the Collision brand, whatever name that title ends up having.

Jay will go down as one of the goats for sure.

I love Jay White, but when he came back from excursion there were still a lot of rough edges. He wasn't ready for the main event. He had a series of underwhelming matches before finding his feet. When he finally did though, he was amazing. He obviously learnt a lot from being in there with top guys.

I was really hoping he would end up in AEW, and he has already made his mark.Finally, everyone can breathe with the Switchblade. Guns up!

I remember many people being down or frustrated (myself included) with Jay White in his first year. Especially in G1 because you were expecting a great match and you just never got it until the following WK against Okada. He was focusing on Character Work and that year of frustration from the fans was worth it. After he lost the World Championship to Okada is when I personally feel White started to pick up steam and he very quickly became a Favorite in New Japan and ever since then he was putting on banger after banger and top tier primor after top tier promo. I’m very excited to see what he does. Although I will say, hopefully we eventually get a BabyFace Jay.

Jay white is my favorite wrestler in the world rn, I hate how he lost at full gear so embarrassingly. Aew doesn’t know what talent they have. Jay white does everything so well. Jay White is imo the best all around professional wrestler in the world today. I really don't think AEW is using him to his full potential but the recent matches with FtR are giving me hope.

Actually, i see Collision, mostly because of Jay White. He's really one of a kind, that is really another level as professional wrestler. And the way he was being used is interesting, cause in the fight with FTR, he was not pinned on (personally) the best tag team match of 2023. So, it is a matter of time for him run wild. PS: i like to see him executing the Bladerunner, it's such cool to watch
