A plane lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport with the lights off and doors sealed. Epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and his team are sent to investigate. On board they find 206 corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when all the bodies disappear from the morgue. Goodweather and a small group of helpers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but the entire city, from an ancient threat to humanity.
In the second season of “The Strain,” the war between humans and vampires continues as The Master continues to follow through on his evil plans. Ephraim Goodweather and Nora Martinez from the Center for Disease Control look desperately for a cure for the virus, which has spread throughout the United States.
Starring: Corey Stoll, David Bradley, and Mia Maestro.
Season 2 Premieres Summer 2015 on FX.

The lumen is actually useless cuz in the end they just blasted King rat into ashes with a nuke. Lol. So much for the hard work of getting and deciphering it. No one needed the lumen. Just destroy the whole body of strigoi and whatever comes out of it.

When you think about it, it gave a way for peeps to secure the Master by imprisoning him and then prophesised his destruction by the face of God= power of the Sun= nuclear explosion, long before nukes were even dreamt of. Just a shame the show seemed to emit the whole Angel back story but it was still a good vamp show.

What do you do when you get a unique book everyone is after? What do you do with secret text they want to take away from you? Put it in a damn copy machine. Scan it and post online.

It wouldn't have worked. The information is hidden in the book..... You have to hold the pages up to sunlight in order to read the secret text. Only a human can hold the silver cover and read the information.

In the comics, the biohazard symbol is the shape of the island where the ancient vampires were born. Not sure about the books.

That is the Jewish version of the tale, like Beowulf that began as a Nordic tale and it was Christianise when Christianity reached to Scandinavia, in reality they come from outer space, seeing in issue one of The Night Eternal of the Strain comics, they are Lovecraftian vampires, in reality no ones knows from where they come from.

Since the Lumen depicts amongst other the origin of the Ancient (and thus the masters), is also verifies the existence of god, who is the one great guilty party in all of this. If he hadn't sent these three arch-angels to quell his thirst for blood and suffering by ordering the destruction of two cities, they, his emissaries of death, had never corrupted Earth in the fashion they did. But instead to clean up the mess he caused, to take responsibilty, to act like an adult, he left it up to the humans.

I do not belief in god, and I'm also no Christian. But in the universe that was created in this show, the lumen/ancient/the masters are proof to the existence to god...only that he/she/it is utterly useless. He (I think he is mostly addressed with a maskuline grammatical gender) sent out his angels to punish humans and destroy their cities, but he does nothing to take care for the mess he created*, and that exceeds the sins of these two cities by far... *he is responsible for it and to quote Carl von Weizsäcker: with the rank of a general the obedience ends, and the responsibility begins. (Mit dem Generalsrank endet der Gehorsam, und die Verantwortung beginnt) Anyway: I stopped watching the show after season 3 for I can't stand Zachery the Useless. Why has there always to be an annoying family that ruins everything by posing as achilles' heel for the "hero".

@@bluerisk Yeah, they re-cast an older and different actor after the first season. Remember the Zach from season 1, the boy who risked his life to get Nora's mother cigarettes. He was a good kid then.

But it is written in nearly modern german in the series. Nothing like old german. Even 100 years ago the writing would be drastically different.

thats all cause guillermo del toro was fan of salems lot 79 and all it was copied from there the strain is an ampliation of salems lot 79 and the vampire lord kurt barlow was from germany,,
