The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946) Ruthless and domineering Martha Ivers (Barbara Stanwyck) is married to district attorney Walter O'Neil (Kirk Douglas), the only person to witness Martha murder her wealthy aunt eighteen years earlier. Long after Martha is cleared of the crime and inherits her aunt's fortune, she begins to worry her secret may be exposed by a childhood freind.

I saw this lately on another Site, it is well worth seeing. As well as being Kirk Douglas first role! Kirk Douglas turned 103 in December, and Lizabeth Scott is one of the most beautiful actresses of that era!

A great score by Miklos Rosza. I like Lizabeth Scott in the role of the "good love" woman as counterpoint to "bad love" Martha Ivers. Film noir many times had two women in juxtaposition like a morality lesson. I'm thinking of the Paula Gibson character in D.O.A.

The two pivotal moments in the movie are at 12:04 (accidental murder) and at 1:53:27 (double suicide).
