Really enjoyed hearing your take on this, I loved it too. You picked up on a lot of stuff I didn't which is the main reason why I like watching other people's reviews.
Thank you for the kind words about my jawn! Honestly, I probably watch standalone reviews of books I've already read than new books faster for this very reason. There's no right takeaway from any book but the communal one is probably the closest thing we've got!

Oooh I've added this one to my list - thanks for the tip! I'm not hugely in to short stories either really, but I've been getting into horror story collections more and more recently! (completely off topic, but I like your lipstick colour - I feel like that needs to be said lol)
This sounds like a book I would be interested in reading. It'll be nice knowing, going into it, that I can expect good - unsettling - things throughout. As long as it is clear that the stories have the intention of unsettling me, sounds pretty good to me.
Okay you had me playing with expectations of nuclear families!!! I haven't read Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke yet, but I might start with this one, it sounds right up my alley!
