I like these vids about trading view . Shows how to use and how all the functions it has and how you could them. Especially if your new to it and you dont know where to start . This helps out alot. Thank you
Very informative and interesting! I love exploring this with various time frames and inputs and properties which make a lot of sense along with the use of the powerful indicators as well.
Thank you. I like the idea of the strategy tester. Why do I see losses under "List of Trades"? I don't have a drawdown. My strategy, check every day after close, close of the trade is always in profit, so normally I expect no minus values. I want to test without any fees, commission or costs. Checkbox close candle is activated. Second issue, the entry is to early. For example the signal is yesterday, the entry should be today. But in strategy tester is the entry yesterday. I assume I do something wrong, but at the moment I can't find a solution. Thank you for any Information and hint.
Is tradingview considering to let its customers have an option to purchase historic tick data for proper backtesting because on short time frames there is simply not enough data even on Premium plan?
@@TradingView thank you for getting back but those only work in conjunction with a strategy tester. How about the manual backtesting of strategies. its really a missed opportunity for TV to not offer downloadable historic data even at a price. That drives many of us to dedicated backtesting programs that do not have the more intuitive interface of TV.The way I see this implemented is similar to the data packages from exchanges. It could be a chargeable item for those who want to manually backtest strategies.
Nice video. I'm trying to understand what the margin settings actually mean in the strategy properties. I think it is saying "I need this much margin or else the exchange won't let me place a trade". Is that right? If so, then if I set the margin to, say 50%. Does that mean that if I try to enter a position with $100 then I need to have at least an additional $50 in order to successfully enter the trade?
Can TradingView's screener be set to pick up activated trading signals? I'd like to filter the full U.S. stock universe for 'Long' signals for a specific strategy, e.g., Technical Ratings Strategy?
This video could've been 3x shorter. Dude repeated himself wayyyyyy too much and repeated concepts multiple times. Remember...its a recorded video...viewers can stop and rewind as needed. No need to camp out on 1 subtopic for more than a few seconds. Anyhow...tradingview is awesome! But I don't understand the strategy tester any better than I did before watching. Good effort though.
