@@Axil202Graffitiid say a minimum of 1 year, but it varies. You need a tag, a throw, and a simple straight letter. A clean legible tag looks alot better than some forced “style” with a bunch or halos and underlines and wacky twisted letters n shit.. when you start, basic is better- then you build off of the basics, learn to tweak and bend letters with time. Stick with your basics at the start, get your tag and throw up all over the place, and paint straights at chill spots. Learn your cities graffiti history, the OG’s, the legends, those who have passed away.. make friends when you can, respect others. When you start, you’ll probably get capped at alot of spots, its just the way it goes.. dont start beef over it, (cause they’ll retire you quick if their established) learn from it. As Snak the ripper said, “Recognition is free, But respect is earned” get up, stay up- always work on your books and never stop. And ill say it again... basic is better when you start, clean legible tags and legible simple throws always look better than some forced fake style.. guys like JA Ket and Duel and Seen all have simple throws, but they look great and have been a staple for over 25 years. Im not saying bite them, but look at their style compared to Skuf, Keep6, or even SmoeLNE for example who have a more fancy stylized throw.. those styles are learned through years of dedication, When I started, I wanted to force style so bad, and it only set me back for 2- almost 3 years. Ive been painting for 6 years now total- the last 2 consistently every week, and have finally got styles down that I genuinely like, and feel are on par with some of the guys I look up to.. that being said, I myself am still well under par with stylized straights and most definitely piecing. It comes with years of practice. Its not something you can just run out of the house and do, you have to appreciate the longevity of it, and always learn.
