Truck drivers need similar restrictions to pilots. And better pay. Yeah, pilots also work 14hr shifts sometimes, but they get a 4hr+ break. And they work half the hours of the average job, 1000 MOST per year. Pilots also get paid hourly and salary.

better pay? You are tripping brother, truck drivers make some of the best money , takes literally 3 months or less to get a cdl. Anyone can do it.. Schneider is starting long haul drivers out at 88k a year, that’s absolutely wild. Most “rich people” don’t even make that. And that’s just starting pay.

@deathclaw666 if someone considers themselves rich at less than 100k these days, they're middle class lol

@@creamythroatBuddy delta pilots top out at 500k a year. The pay is WAYYYY better.

@@creamythroat or... 1500 hours for a commercial license with a starting pay of $100k for the shitty airlines. As a truck driver you're working almost triple the hours of a pilot, become a danger and are constantly in danger on the road, work odd hours and sometimes don't know if you have work for the next week. It's also a lot easier to fly an international plane than a truck after training. Pretty much all pilots do on passenger flights is make the plane take off, land, and if they're crossing borders, talk with ATC towers there. That's literally it. Don't have to worry about accidentally killing someone because a tiny car was in your blind spot. And FFS, truckers are literally the backbone of America, imagine how much scrambling would have to happen to ensure the entire supply chain doesn't collapse. Got a good taste of that during COVID. And is the reason why UPS negotiations went so fast when the truckers went on strike. I thought long and hard between these carriers, and decided to go with being a pilot. The license is more expensive, but I like the "lazy" lifestyle of only working 700-1000 hours a year and still getting paid 100k.
@strana6875

@@creamythroat also as far as pay, I come from a small city with a average household income of 23k a year. I understand where you're coming from. But nationally, you're still middle class until you make over 120k a year. Which is an unfathomable number to me, but you know, I don't live in California 😂

I used to be a receiving clerk AND unloader for my department cuz it was a small department at a well known e-commerce warehouse and I would always make sure to get these guys unloaded and on their way as fast as possible, it was usually stressful if I was working by myself but it was always rewarding.

The problem is that when things fall behind or there is a issue with inventory in larger facilities there is really no good way to speed things up. I work for DHL Warehouses and that for us there are times where loads are being picked while loaded and if one thing goes wrong that door gets put on pause for hours until we are caught up enough everywhere else to fix the issue. That combined with software that will regularly prevent you from closing out the load causes a ton of unexpected delays that get passed on to the driver.

This is why as a company driver I only work for a guaranteed salary $300.00 / $400.00 a day or 2k a week guaranteed pay as long as I'm available for work no more cpm for me. SO no matter what happens if I get held up with brokedown truck delayed at shipper or receiver etc etc It doesn't effect my bag

Lol I went from hauling cows in Texas to an orientation for a decent mid size flatbed carrier and the joker in safety was talking shit about I’m not gonna be running around scales and carrying 3 log books on the trucks at their company. People are truly ignorant as fuck about this industry. I would pull right into scales overweight and roll right through in Texas. They ain’t fucking with that shit. Be 90k on a damn county road with a 12k weight restriction. And working 20 hour days, if necessary, to clear that order of cattle out of the feed lots. These motherfuckers have no idea what work is.

The clock doesn't keep running because of 2-8 or 3-7 splits. Not sure what they mean. The clock is not the issue so much here as things just taking to long to make money because things close and you run put of business hours generally.
