My Houdini is my Outlaw shadow. Beyond loyal, game for anything. This breed is fearless and will do anything. Hike mountains, surf double overhead swell with me. Anyone who has them will tell you...best dog ever.🙏🇺🇸
Interesting. It seems like its breeding has a similar story to the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Local indigenous dogs (obviously from a different continent) bred with European mastiffs and greyhounds.
We've had a Catahoula for the past four years and she's fiercely loyal and fearlessly protective. We just rescued a 'dumped' Catahoula pup two weeks ago and he already has the signs of an awesome worker!
I’m about to get one but honestly am second guessing my choice , not because of energy needs but because Iv started to stumble upon the fact that they can be very aggressive despite proper training and socializing. Iv had seen owners say that their dogs once matured about 2 or more years old began all of a sudden getting too territorial and aggressive towards family and other dogs on the street , even if they weren’t before . Have you experienced this? Iv heard a few mauling stories and I didn’t think this was a problem with them and I have a genuine concern. One thing is to be a guard dog that alerts but the stories Iv heads are similar to pitbull stories. Except Iv dealt with really sweet pitbulls and idk it surprises me thar catahoulas also seem to have unpredictable aggressiveness . I’m not sure how common it is since most videos don’t go into that at all and people tend to say they love their dogs but it’s hard to say if they ever truly have visitors over or distant relatives over. Should having visitors and relatives over that aren’t around often be a concern? Should I be concerned with running with thesis and taking it out to dog parks?
I am a proud owner of a male Catahoula (Bear), and a female (Spook). Ive owned and trained a few breeds but these 2 are by far and away the most beautiful friends I have ever had......But beware, if you can't give your Catahoula the time, love, and affection it is happy to give you, and I mean 24/7, then this dog is not for you.
That was such a good documentary with wonderful music that I would love to give you every award I could think of! Thank you so much. I just found one of these the neighbors dog ran away and they ended up giving it to me. I thought she was going to get run over and killed and I kept taking her back home and then I finally told him look I'd like to have her if you don't want her. You can bring her to me tonight or you can wait. I thought they wouldn't give her to me but they did so she's now playing with my Belgian Malinois. He's not as happy as she is but she's a puppy and he's a grown up yeah
Dude! I just brought my labahoula puppy home to my Belgian malinois as well! So crazy. She is almost 10 weeks and he is over 7 years, so you can imagine be isn't super stoked either hahaha. Mind if I ask how they get along now??
