The story of Reallyjoel's dad: Reallyjoel is the username of a friend of Daniel Remar, one of the members of Ludosity games, and creator of several games of his own. On a video featuring a boss fight against the hardest version of the final boss in the game, reallyjoel stated "Pff, my dad could beat that" or something similar to that. As a result ,games got an even higher than the highest difficulty level in most/many of the games made by Remar, that feature a difficulty setting called "Reallyjoel's dad'". In the original Iji, the game was literally unbeatable at these settings because after making the whole game damn near impossible, the exit from level 1 is blocked off by an impenetrable barrier anyway.

why make a AI smart, when you can just boost it to the point the only way to win is to cheese.

That ending was amazing. But like, I dunno about Joel's Dad, but it's cute that there's a game like out there. Not just cause of the Fishbunjin, but that there's a Smash Bros-like game that actually looks fun and seems to keep the style and appeal of the earlier games' aesthetic.
