*BIG Z IS THE EPITOME OF WHAT TRULLY STRONG GENETIC STRENGHT HE HAS SHOWN OVER THE YEARS..HONEST,HUMBLE ZYDRUNAS SAVICKAS WILL BE KNOWN FOR STRONGEST MAN TO EVER LIVED ON THIS EARTH FOR CENTURIES*
He is the goat the final boss in legendary mode and anything else epic you can think of all morphed into one no one will ever be able to achieve what he did he pushed the bar so high humans can only become so strong and I think he set that bar all anyone can do now is try and inch it up a little here and there no one man will ever be able to do it again I doubt we will see many world records being broken anymore..
At the beginning of his carrier, he was attending like 4 major events per year (Arnold's, WSM, 2 powerlifting comp). Also, multiple championships at his home country. He said in interview, that only after he stopped powerlifting and focused instead on main events - he started winning. And throughout his carrier he wasn't focused on WSM only. That's why he's the GOAT of all time. Take into account all his competitions, nothing gets close. Nowadays, it's easy to talk shit when you're attending like one major event per year (Brian Shaw included).
I remember Big Z when he was an unknown entering into worlds strongest man. While Mariusz Pudzianowski was winning title after title. Quickly big Z came along and didn't win but I saw how much raw strength he had on the presses and dead lifts and it was clear he was sooo much stronger than Mariusz or anyone else in the field.
There was a lot of athletic/moving involved in WSM competition during Pudz' era in the early 00's. Pudz has 5 titles.. but he couldn't do shit in the ASC which was much more focussed on brute strength and sheer muscle power.. a competition Z won 8 times.
@@lunasilvermoon2283 I agree with most of that. Except the worlds strongest man is still an endurance/speed test as much as it is a strongman sport. The ASC does have more strength based competition dependent on who can lift the most and do the most reps. Where as the atlas stones, the keg toss, truck/plane pulling, hercules hold, farmers walks and various other events, especially events for time, benefit those with better endurance and bursts of speed and power. This is why you had Novikov win a couple years ago and why the Stoltman brothers dominate Atlas stones. They are explosive and quick. Not just strong. I don't think anyone, including Maruisz, ever thought that Mariusz had more power than Big Z. The years Mariusz beat him Mariusz would beat the field in pretty much anything you needed to be quick on your feet for and Big Z would be not even be 2nd or 3rd because of his size and endurance. However all things overhead press and squat he would be the top guy. It's just how they set up events.
I feel like there are many who are stronger than him but his technique is so crisp and he saves a lot of energy on his clean. Most strongmen are gassed and off balance by the time they get to the press
worlds strongest mans with most trophies, most wins, and loads of different records, and was in the business for over 20 years, still stays completely humble and talks like a completely normal human being without showing any attitude. Big Z is a living example on how to behave then you're the GOAT. Complete legend
Hey champ, absolutely loved your list of top 10 strongest man of all time.. Nicely explained..loving all your interviews.. Atleast something to look forward to in lockdown 🤗
I believe if Eddie hall didn't have health issues from being so big, he coulda got a couple more wsm titles. For a time he was right there with big z. To me, Brian Shaw and Z are the 2 best. And of course Loz is a beauty too😁
By far the greatest, anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. My only slight disappointment is that we never got to see what he was truly capable of when pushed to the max. If the whole 500kg deadlift had been a thing when he was in his prime, I'd not bet against him rising to the challenge. If other guys had been capable of a 230 log, I'm sure he could have pushed to a 240 if he needed to. But the fact he didn't was why he lasted longer in the sport than anyone has, or probably ever will.
Winning major Strongman competitions is a far more objective measure of Strongman greatness than isolated records. You have to be strong in everything, and must not have a weakness to achieve those victories. Look for instance how Kieliskowski won 4 out of 6 events in the Arnold and still lost because he has 1 weakness, that is his deadlift. Titles don't forgive a chunk in the armor, records do, you can train hard for 1 event for years and might get it and might actually suck in other events. From that perspective I understand why Big Z didn't care about records as much.
It's a slight disappointment that we never got to see Eddie Hall push it to his limits... he was only 29 when he retired, if he stayed in strong man as long as big Z did he would have been the strongest there ever was probably, but we'll never find out.
@@opaldeadventureersubscribe7825 Eddie retired because he pushed himself to the limits to win WSM and set the deadlift world record. Eddie is a true great but Z had everything and he has consistency and longevity. He actually posted log lift world record with an injury
@@boerieroll Eddie didnt retire becuase he pushed himself, he retired because his wife pleaded him to stop once he had gained the WSM title, its shown in one of his documentaries on netflix. I honestly think he could have had a career such as z if not better, his sheer determination and power was incredible. He tried absolutely everyway possible to give him an extra edge. It is a shame his career didnt last longer however you cannot deny a man that family comes first. Strongman is a metaphorical candle being lit at both ends, you are basically borrowing time and will likely die an earlier then average life. Hense the reason he retired.
@@benextinction__144 Lol go watch the documentary mate, It shows how his wife was in shock and nerves after his 500kg lift and states that once he got the tittle she wanted him to stop so he could be there for their family. Like yeh of course he was putting tons of stress on his body but he has 2 kids and a wife after WSM he had pretty much set them up for life so he quit. Do you think Eddie would have retired if he didnt have his family ? becuase i dont, Family won king in his decision process.
@@mylintislietuva4870 Yes and he's the strongest of them all. If you're commonly known as the strongest ever, how aren't you the strongest in Lithuania too? 😂
@@aaronbatch9800 he won’t pass it because big Z has had 30 years on competing and quadruple the amount of trophy. Not denying Brian is strong but he will never pass Big Z
@@rpantraxx9182 I think it'd be fair to argue that Lebron's closer to MJ than Shaw is to Z. Could argue either side though. Bit of a different argument seeing as Z and Shaw's eras overlapped a good margin, whereas Lebron and MJs clearly didn't.
Sad thing is eddie still thinks he's stronger in static strength than Z when big Z only ever trained for titles not records. Records were just an add on to the comps for fun lol. Imagine if he just trained for records like eddie!
Imagine the world records big z could of hit if Eddie hall prime was in big Zs prime 2 greatest pressers of all time with hardly any leg drive from both
@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 You must have a pretty high opinion of yourself to consider someone stupid for using incorrect grammar, especially when it's a common misspelling.
@bronchoped1 have you seen big Z and The beast in their primes their pressing power does not compare to Luke stoltmans lukes a monster presser but he’s not on the level of Z and Eddie
Genuinely one of the greatest if not the greatest in the sport. An incredible champion and a humble guy that dominated without ego...alot of respect for Big Z.
He is by far the GOAT. He dominated in one era and shared another era with the second goat in shaw. With evolution of sport, we will see stronger guys. However, we will likely never see anyone as great for their time or dominating. Most world records, most titles and longevity at the top
The craziest thing is that he never went balls to the walls for a competition like Eddie did when he won worlds... Zydrunas carried his strength for years and years but he had the potential to be even stronger for a shorter period of time 😳
Regarding the inevitable comparison with Eddie, you should always compare lifts instead of titles (and Savickas still comes out on top, IMO). If a complete unknown increases all the WRs by 50% in a small sanctioned event and gets hit by a fast-moving sizable object next day, he will still go down in history as the strongest man ever, with zero WSMs and zero Arnolds. That said, the Big Z is probably the strongest man ever, certainly the greatest strongman to date, and it's a pity that he didn't have the likes of Shaw, Thor or Eddie to push him in his prime.
Absolutely legendary stats and still humble. No drama, no nonsense with Big Z. What an incredible sportsmen. Proud to be a fan of his for many years now.
Thing is, that Big Z slowly pushed up the record a bit at a time for so long that his "peak" very well has likely passed and we never saw what he was ultimately capable of, and there weren't many people who could consistently push him. He was in uncharted territory for a long time, and now it's people chasing after him to beat him.
There was literally 0 axle for max competitions from 2010 to 2017, not on ASC, not on WSM, not on GL, not even the dozens of SCL shows. If they had axle for max in 2014 or so the record would've been 220 to 225 kg giving Zydrunas' performance on the Apollon Wheels at the ASC previous years.
A strong case can be made for any of the top 3, including Big Z and Pudzianowski, but my favorite is Kazmaier, who was so dominant that he had to be excluded from WSM for four years to give others a chance.
@@BartekJestem25 absolutely. But I do t think any of these tou mention will dominate and claim multiple titles as they have. They're like the Messi and Ronaldo of the footballing world, or the Colman / Cutler of bodybuilding. Complete legends of their craft.
The number of competitions and tournaments he's won is just ridiculous - 4 times WSM, 3 times ESM, 13 consecutive Lithuania's Strongest Man, I just lose count of all the competitions he's won. If anyone deserves the title of greatest strength athlete ever, it's him.
Undoubtedly the GOAT in this sport. I've been saying this for nearly ten years now. Eddie Hall is no doubt a top contender and left a mark in strongman however He wasn't an elite level athlete to begin with. Just look at the times he never placed on the podium competing against some real Giants over many years. He had to grind away, eating up to nearly 20,000kcal a day and nearly destroying his family life and marriage in the process, all of which is documented and in the words of the great Andy Bolton (see his Facebook) he is physically broken and couldn't do it all over again. He pushed himself to an immense bodyweight of nearly 200kg (so around a 50kg increase) to finally get that title, which I don't think he could do again considering how far some of the other athletes have come along at present. On the other hand, Big Z eats between 3000-10,000kcal throughout the year or about 5000kcal on most days, his diet is healthy, he has a real life outside of strongman and enjoys himself; an epitome of some of the greats of the 90s era like Magnus Samuelson. Have an objective think and consider whose achievements are more impressive based on just the above. The one who pushed himself until he nearly killed himself being on the edge all the time, or the one who just took it in his stride relying on pure talent and smart training/eating. That's my understanding after watching and following the sport for around 25 years. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinions. My opinion, however, is that had Big Z pushed himself like some of the others then his status would be even more remarkable and distinct above the others.
Without a doubt Big Z is an absolute beast. He is definitely a natural strongman and he didn't have to push himself to the absolute limit. There's no way you can take anything away from Eddie though because he worked his ass off to reach his goals and he did. They're both very different but you can respect both of them and what they have achieved
@meder the pause didn't mean anything, it was probably half of a second pause The fuss yeah, well he did complain, nothing to say but about the handshake, the editor wanted to create even more shit around simple as that
He's gotta be the strongest man to ever live. I have Z 1st on my list. I understand there's an argument for Kaz, Shaw, MVM, JP, and Pudz- but I just can't see how any top Z. He's the greatest. A mythical figure.
I liked the video but if they said something more about Eddie I woulkd dislike it. I just don't like how Eddie is full of himself. Saying he could do 230 kg when he bearly did 216 and saying he could do 550kg deadlift when he almost died at 500. He's just full of shit.
For me, the greatest of all time. Won more than a hundred competitions. Had more than 50 world records. Unlike Brian Shaw, Big Z kept competing in diffferent strongman competitions. That's why he's the greatest and the strongest of all time. Until today he's near 50 yet still winning competition.
As Lithuanian I will point out, that your pronaunsation of Lithuanian names is not great. But that's OK, we are used to it. And his English is far from perfect either as well as probably my.
Hats off to Big Z, such a humble guy despite all his trophies and championships. A true gentleman of the sport.. Anyone who is anyone in the strongman sport should look up to Big Z.
Eddie Hall was good even great but Big Z is a different animal. Unlike Hall, Big Z dominated all types of events that to from starting of his career. I still remember 2014 World,s Strongest Man on of the 55-pound can almost land on his head still Big Z didn't even look a bit scared
Ofc Big Z is a freaking powerful monster but I bet his maximum power coming from his mind, he break this mind limit who only a real powerful man can reach, from his silence & his humble hearth, he always will be in my TOP even the day he lose this records, sorry for my shitty english.
I think the next person to break the 228kg log press will be... Zydrunas Savickas. He's training again now, his pinched nerve is healed up, and the one thing he wanted to do that he hasn't done yet in strongman... his unfinished business is a 240kg log press.
It's interesting, to ask who is the most consistently strong strongman of all time, you'd have to give it too BigZ no question. If you're asking who is the strongest human to have ever lived in recorded times, then I think it's fair to say Eddie Hall 2016/17 is that. In that period he was capable, of 500+kg deadlift, 216+axle, 230+log. The fact that he never attempted to go higher in 2017 and then got injured and has never peaked again as he retired, shows how far he pushed his body to reach those abilities. So BigZ all time strongest over time. Eddie strongest at peak but short time at that level. Both have my utmost respect!
Big Z is like the Babe Ruth of strongman as far as titles go. Pure static strength I'd say Eddie Hall has been about the only one that could run close to Big Z.
I've seen places where apparently Big Z joked about needing to buy a new house to fit all his trophies. All the wins he's had at the pro level, I believe it.
Actually, guys like Big Z and Eddie Hall they not lift these heavy weights only with their muscles, they lift with their "WILL" that come from inside. Best greeting Big Z, l am one of your fans.
