Dave's genuine enthusiasm says it all. He joke before they played that their moms were picking them up after the show, then they played and he was amazed, This is one thing I loved about Dave, he appreciated great music performed well and loved a good rock band
I'd say when the audience saw them first they thought 'aww this will be adorable'. And then the boys blew everyone away.. The Strypes are going to be massive, mark my word.
During the 2010s, they spearheaded and encouraged a wave a young UK bands to explore non-Beatle classic Brit Invasion and R&B roots. e.g. The 45s ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-URBtN5f1FWg.html
This my first exposure to this band. My first impression is that these guys are just mod wannabe douches, but then they started playing. My mind is officially blown. THIS is good music.
Well you're a little late to the party cupcake, even two years ago. By this point they had ditched the mod look and sound. Shows what the fuck you know about mod. Which is nothing.
This band was just awesome..I saw this show when they were on. I fell in love..they know how to Rock and Roll and take it to another level! WOOT! Dave had good musical guest and i heard he handpicked his musical guests too.
That was legendary and iconic. Check out their version of Elvis Costello's 'Peace Love and Understanding' It will blow you away how good they are. Mindblowing talent at that age.
Man I wish I really had found out about these guys earlier! I’m just getting into them now to find out they have split up, what a shame! This is music! The good thing is they are still young! Thank you Strypes for making good music again!!!!!!!
Watching this back its like it isnt real..... Used to watch these guys in Sweeneys for a €5r every Tuesday...... A 5r.... I miss the Strypes. They were special.
If they don't transform into the new millenium One Direction, they're going places...otherwise they will fall into total oblivion by the 3rd album :)!!
They're the next big movement since the beatles :D This live version is so much faster from the original, maybe they were nervous in front of letterman and went too fast haha :P
Wise_Young_Douchebag - If your takeaway from viewing this performance is that it's "Utter Bullshit" You clearly missed the memo... No one here is asserting that this is a 'new' sound my son. In point of fact, it is acknowledged to be a throwback. ...A respectful homage to the mid-60s British Invasion. Bands like the Yardbirds, (early) Kinks, the Animals and (early) Who. The point is that these guys are the anti-Bieber, the anti flavor of the month. Real human beings, playing guitars and drums with energy and enthusiasm, making real rock & roll.
This is what happens folks when your children find Kinks, Pretty Things, and Dr Feelgood records in your collection instead of Duran Duran or some other gormless swill .
Aaaaaaaaaah fun. BOOM! :D I hope Evan's hands are getting a rest after all the touring and TV. Had to cringe in pain for him when I read in Rolling Stone how trashed his hands were leading up to this appearance. :(
Jam Slapper He's neither. He's more than likely a 50 something, fat, bald drunk, that shouts about his shit local football team and goes home to beat his wife.
Why can't bands pick original freaking names ? Jeez There already is The White Stripes and big deal it's spelled differently I'm not impressed I'll go listen to Dr. Feelgood
