I got up early and flew my drone to get a bit of aspect of remoteness. We were a bit behind packing up and Trevor and I were last to leave camp after I lowered tyre pressures and went back up the steep side to where Bruce got stuck the night before just to test them out a little. We were carrying a fair bit of weight so I didn't want to go too low and settled for around 30psi rear and 28psi front.
Anyway we were a bit behind the others by the time we got away and we stopped a few times to look at things but still had radio contact from the top of most dunes. Late in the day Bruce told us they were setting up camp and I estimated we were less than 10km ahead of us but in the end it was twice as far as we thought.
We thought we would see them over the next dune but were disappointed again and again and again.
We got there in the end but it was very slow going all day, with lots of what I call "Howdy Doodees" where you get a rhythmical bounce up if you are going a little too fast and your vehicle behaves like a massive see-saw tossing everything around in your vehicle from the front to back and visa-versa. If you do that too often things break in the end.
