understand his wife dragged him to voice lessons for 3 years, so this why today he has this natural flow and can reach high notes easily, naturally. he learned to use his voice

....and to add up to the note, Mr. Thompson Jr stop drinking and smoking at their early days of success I saw him here on RU-vid at a interview.

@@ingridkern6582 actually Florence did take him to the music institution but not for voice lessons. He actually let his voice REST for 2 years. ( not 3).... He was there to learn to play the piano and other instruments he had a longing to play.. And learn about other music genres he was interested in. He didn't need voice lessons.. He already had sung in Carnegie Hall . 💯

@@ingridkern6582 sort of correct but Florence encouraged him to attend a music college after he left the Stylistics in 2000. He let his voice rest for 2 years while he learned to play piano and some other instruments. He always wanted to learn piano. He had no intention of going back to singing. But when he left the Stylistics nearly everyone in band ,choreographer, stage director and others left with him. They kept trying to get him to put the group back together ( minus Airion and Herb) and go back on road with them but he wouldn't. He studied music writing and instruments for 2 years. Then gave in and said ok. Rest is history. Such a gift he is to our music enjoyment. 🎶🌟🎶

He didn't record MOST of their top hits.......Russell recorded all of Stylistics hits. I think he recorded over 300 songs in his career.
