Germany has no digital technology and everything is invented by US, Korea and China only. The most important invention of all, the integrated circuit, was made by the american inventor John Kilby(now expired long ago) and the semiconductor was invented by Shockley and others also from america. The predecessor of GPS and the two-stage rocket as well as metal printing and steel armoured ships are Korean inventions.If Germany is soooooo advanced, then why can't Germany make any rockets while Korea is now preparing for unmanned mars spaceships?

Mittelstand does not fit these digitronic times. There are only 1-2 big companies called Big Tech in the current global economy. Korea has successfully launched model satellite a few minutes ago. But Germany can't. Korea makes 3nm semiconductors. But Germany can't. Korea made supersonic stealth jet fighter with own technology(the engine remains of foreign origin but Hanhwa is developing 22000lbs engine) which needn't activation code each time as it is locally made. But Germany can't. Most European countries now use Korean made self propelled and Poland is going to use Korean made jet fighters, not German made ones. This is because only very large concentrated companies can achieve great mainstream projects and products. Nowadays one single semiconductor factory is larger than large European cities,totally dustless and bacterialess. The Mittelstand does not fit the current global digitronic-only economy.

Just because the computer/tech industry works really well under large corporations doesn't mean every industry needs to be under a monopoly of 1 or 2 big companies

@@khryz8181 Only 1-2 large companies have the capital to run actual business.For example, there were many semiconductor makers in the past but now there are only Intel,Samsung,TSMC and SK Hynix. This is simply how the global economy works. Small companies simply have no place.

@@pastmemories1035 The semiconductor industry is that way because it has no choice, they NEED large companies with alot of capital for innovation and stable production. Other industries don't require this and isn't necessary for every industry to be under 1 or 2 big companies

@@khryz8181 There is no such thing as other than IT industries as everything is being absorbed by IT industry. There is no need for car mechanics for example as Hyundai replaced old cars with the e-gmp architecture that is derived from handphones. Cars in the near future will have zero moving parts and made in a way similar to rollable circuit boards.Small companies cannot globallly survive, that's simply the way it is, and there is simply no other way.

Think of it more like this. Germany may not make semiconductors of fighter jets. But they make the machines used to make those things. Germany is more about making the machines that make the products.
