Prime’s executives and Jenny are hinting they may go for more shows after season 3, so if that’s the case the end game can be anything at this point.

@@EllyPierre-lc5qt **SPOILERS ** So basically Jere and Belly have a fight and they break up for like a week (I think). Jere goes to Cabo on spring break and sleeps/cheats on Belly (my impression is it comes from Jere being hurt by the breakup compounded with the fact he and Belly haven’t had sex get even though they’ve been together for 2yrs). He comes back, Belly believes their breakup was just temporary and when Jere got back, they’d be back together like nothing happened but Jere thought they done 100%. Fast forward a bit to a party where Belly overhears a conversation and realises Jere cheated, confronts him about it and in response, (IMO overcompensates), proposes to Belly and she hesitantly says yes. I think I have it correct from when I listened to the audiobooks but if I’m wrong (anyone), please correct me! 😊

That's a good summary. I just don't see how any of that makes sense anymore in the context of the show. Jeremiah, in the show, is way too emotionally aware and mature by the end of season 2 to believably be having sex with anyone else in season 3 without truly believing it's over, so not cheating, and being honest about it when they get back together immediately. Differences that Jenny made at the end of season 2 from the books include having Jeremiah recognizing Conrads emotional games, pushing Conrad to admit his feelings, and then to admit them to Belly - not to mention a promise to not fight and not walk away if she chooses Conrad. None of that happens in the books, it's left that Conrad lies to Jeremiah that he's over her and Belly had no idea that he has feelings either. In the books she doesn't choose Jeremiah over Conrad so much as she ends up with him, but in the show these changes mean she straight up knew her choices and very clearly made Jeremiah her choice. That changes how their relationship unfolds, how secure they are in each other, and the character growth they each have over their relationship. I just don't see how they can follow the third book's main plot points at all without it not even making sense in the context of the show. If Jenny still wants to break up Jeremiah and Belly and have Conrad be endgame then she's going to have to come up with a whole new story to make it happen. Either way I don't see how season 3 can be true to the book. Jenny said she was up to the task of updating her story to now and I hope she meant that.

Jeremiah hasn’t even gone through those battles so he does have some growing up in that sense

@@queenxx1690 Jenny actually urges ppl to read the books so they won't be suprised or sad abt the ending. She won't change it, it's so clear already with the foreshadowing. All in all, it's Conrads and Bellys love story, always has been from the very beginning. Jenny said she wants to finish the show as she wrote it and as the show is based on the books, she wants to stay true to the OG fans who are the reason for this show to happen in the first place. She chose this ending for a reason and won't give that up. Belly and Jere will have their time together, but it's already clear why they won't work in the long run. I do think though they might change the storyline inbetween and get Jere his happy ending with his own soulmate as well. Or he will get the spin-off ;)

@@queenxx1690 Honestly I am not going to argue here bc it's getting pretty exhausting telling ppl what is happening btw the lines. So you see their relationship as you want I see the relationshio how I want it. I would advice you to be careful abt how you use the word toxic though. Seriously someone started it and now ppl are picking up that word constantly without knowing the actual meaning of it. Toxic means hurting ppl on purpose and knowingly hurting them. It ain't the case here. They defenitely weren't in the right states to be with one another. They had a lot of issues communicating and understanding each other due to young age, lack of experience and facing very scary matters. I'd love to see a relationship not suffering from that kind of impact around. Conrad and Belly fell for each other for all the right reasons before hitting those challenges. Nothing is romantic about that, it's about overcoming those challenges. Jere does have pretty big issues too, ppls just like to overlook them somehow. Him and Belly being together actually brings out the worst in Jere, as he has a lot of anger and jelousy issues. I like his character so I want him to move on as well. And maybe he won't get his soulmate during one season, but I do hope for a happy ending for him with either another person by his side by the end, which we probably won't get to know or just being happy by himself.

@terka9572 I think that's your wishful thinking. And it's okay, I understand. Jere is gorgeous. But relationships that are based just on looks are bound to fail. Belly is not compatible with Jere apart from their age. From what we've seen so far, it will not make sense for Belly to end up with Jere.

​@@annabelmoore2296 I think if Belly and Jere's story was only based on Jenny Han's books then you would be right and I would agree. Jenny did not go into the depth of individual characters in her books. Especially the first two books are quite simple. Only the screenwriters managed to give the characters more "layers" and therefore I think that while in the book it is natural that Belly stays with Conrad, the TV adaptation has other options to end the whole story. It will only depend on Jenny if she allows it as an executive producer.. (or she will be too proud and won't allow the story to be changed)

It's public knowledge that team Jere has gained a huge fan base because Gavin is ridiculously good-looking. I bet if Gavin played Conrad's role. Everyone would say, "What a brat, treating his brother this way and going after his girlfriend." How's that fair ? What kind of message do you think young people get? That you don't need anything but good looks to win in life. I completely disagree with you. Jenny won't charge the end, not because she's too proud but because the story is about how true love always prevails, when your feelings are infinite. Okay I see where you’re going with the Conrad situation, and I was a team Bonrad at the beginning on the show. While watching the characters develop, I truly see jellyfish working out in the long run. People always say, best friends to lovers, right?

Always Conrad forever

Conrad is a her first love, but first loves are rarely true loves, that's why first loves almost never last. People's true loves are usually not the first person they dated or fell in love with, but rather someone they fell in love with later in their lives. I know she ends up with Conrad in the books, but I hope they change it and she ends up with Jeremiah instead, her and Jere are a better match together.

@queenxx1690 Maybe you should read the book again. Belly was nervous about his trip and was asking questions. He got "supposedly upset," and he broke up with her. But very conveniently, when he returned from his trip, he came back with gifts (classic cheater move) and made up like nothing happened. All that within the span of a week. Sorry hon, that's classic cheating.

But she also changed alot of plot points. She added alot that wasn't in the books. Especially season 2 with how it ended. I don't think Jenny is going to put the wedding plot or the whole Cabo thing. The whole cheating thing was in Season 1 and the whole Deb thing was basically the wedding plot. It just doesn't make sense with the direction the show is going. It would actually be inconsistent and bad writing on her part.

You obviously haven't read book 3... Its about the author and how she portraits the characters. In book 3 Jeremiah is not a good person... He hooks up with a s**** in cabo.. He is selfish rude and inconsiderate, he's so rude to Belly.. You really see how him being with belly is probably more about ego than anything else.... Conrad is the sweet one.... And I think most people who are team Jeremiah, just like him because they like the way he looks without a shirt on.. They don't care about character depth. You expect this from teenagers who haven't read the bug but not from grown woman.

They bookd and they series do go hand in hand since season 2. Yes, there are changes also within the character and certain events, but the main events and outcomes are the same or very similar. Neither one of the pairs is favourized. Lolas and Chris on-screen chemistry is off the charts good, not saying Lolas and Gavins isn't, but Lola and Chris really do portray the deep love connection on a different level, whereas Gavins and Lolas chemistry is the more playful one suiting their characters as besties imo. Yes, Belly and Jere do have more touching points in the show, but if you want to put it that way, there still are more Conrad and Belly scenes thx to their amazing chemistry. Jenny gives their scenes a lot support with song and especially lyrics. My advice is to closely listen to every song during each scene btw Conrad and Belly and Conrad and Jere. It's pretty clear who endgame is by that. If they choose to do 2 more seasons to get more out of the story, then maybe their won't be a Bonrad ending by the end of s3, but all in all Bonrad will be endgame with all the forshadowing going on already.

She has stayed loyal to the books so far but Book 3 is most peoples least favorite by a long shot so I feel like she may be more inclined to change a lot more in that regard. In an interview I'm pretty sure she said she's more open-minded to changing things because she doesn't want everyone to know exactly how it's going to end. I'm team Jeremiah myself so it's probably just wishful thinking on my part though lol.

you do realize that you guys must not be watching the same show. You think all this is foreshadowing but there are also plenty of easter eggs for Jelly. If you think Season 3 is going to be the same as book 3 then you must love bad writing. With the direction the show has taken nothing in that book would even make sense. They already did a whole cheating plot in season 1 and had the Deb ball as kinda a wedding plot. You guys think season 3 is the end but of they planned on ending it they would of just made 3 movies. It's already been confirmed there will be more. For things to happen the way you guys want would be super inconsistent and wouldn't make sense as it is 2023. The ending of season 2 was different then it was in the books. Why have jere and belly kiss in season 1 if things were gonna be the same. Bonrad has no chemistry at all and they are boring. That's why just Jelly kiss scenes went viral. Honestly bonrad ending doesn't even make sense at all they have no buildup. Jenny has to 2 years to think about how she wants the show to go. But if she thinks things from book 3 would fly in the world today it won't. It would actually make her look worse then the book already did

They already wrote the script fpr s3 and just to be clear she won't change the ending. Pls stop using the word toxic like that, seriously ppl pick it up and use it without understanding it at all. Conrad and Belly were way too young to deal with the kind of love they had for one another and the scary and awful events around them. Jenny shows us how ppl griefe differently in different life states and ages. Conrad suffers from serious mental issues and depression...he is drowing and needs to be thrown a lifeline. By calling this toxic, you practically neglect that issue and ppls silent suffering through this kind of things. Belly and Conrad both weren't good for each other during this process, but it ain't toxic, that is why they seperated. Jere for sure isn't the healthy choice at all. He has serious issues as well and it amazes me how ppl don't see that. He has major insecurities due to being the second child and was raised by a father letting him believe he is second best. He developed serious anger and jealousy issues torwards his brother. Belly coming in as a factor intensifies theses issues and for me brings out the worst in him. So no, not the healthy choice at all. The characters are not done developing and growing yet and Jenny herself said season 3 will reveal their true personalities and whom they grow into. Some will grow for beter, soe may grow for worse. Jere and Belly jumoing into this relationship with everything going on is already doomed. Conrad will have a major grow up and so will Belly. They will grow to be togetehr again. Jere would never be able to get past issues as long he is with Belly especially with Conrad coming back into their lives. Conrad and Belly bring out the best in one another and challenge each other in a good way, So the ending is the right one for a reason. But we need s3 to clarify that.
