The fox proposed to the waning goddess, with a promise to save her from death. However, the goddess hesitated due to the hopelessness of her situation.
Before her goddess faded completely, the fox demon swapped their spirits, vanishing in her place. Devastated at the loss of her lover, the goddess could only crumple to the floor in a body that wasn't hers.
Ok, I know that was tragic as hell but their story has a happy ending I assure you! These two just have a lotta things to work out before that ahahaha
