I actually purchased this detector before I came across your review. The open air test was interesting. With having used this machine for 3 weeks now I can say that it definitely detects deeper. I have pulled coins over 6” deep many times. What blew my mind was pulling a small nail, and I mean small. For the price and for a beginner it’s great. The manual sucks. The batteries, 8!, kinda sucks. Thanks for the reviews love the channel.
What a coincidence . I am moving to Vietnam soon and I'm wanting to get into detecting there . I don't have a clue on what to buy starting out or how to use the gear . Your vids on begginers detectors are what I needed ! I hope you are able to give an opinion on which machine you wish you had when beginning . Thank you so much for taking the time to help us beginners . Thank you to all that watch your vids that are experienced and find the vids not useful but understand that the vids are useful to people like myself . Thank you Jason and thank you to your subs that are helpful to us newbies .
I got one of their other versions that was more money. After the second time I used it, the LCD panel went berserk and would not work at all when I pressed the buttons to change the modes. When it was working, this thing was grunting and making weird noises and the the pinpointer function was not accurate at all. They are sending me a new one.
This machine doesn't measure up to the one last week, the Striker Z60. As long as your target is on the surface, you're good. (lol) Good test and review. You definitely can save someone the disappointment and frustration. Keep it up.
Good morning everyone, stay safe and God bless! In the coin testing, it might be even less in inches with sand, dirt, soil, gravel or stones between the object and the coil.
Thanks for this! My wife just got me one of these for Christmas as my first detector. I will use it for all it's worth, and I appreciate you taking the time for a quick tutorial on this product. I was getting frustrated with the manual too. She got it on the Cyber Monday sale off of Amazon for $104.
Can anyone recommend a good detector for around the £200 mark? Want something that has a deeper range than 4 to 5 inches. Looked at this one, but it seems awful.
Just started watching brother but I always end up forgetting to comment and I wanted to make sure I wish you and your family a very happy holiday season💪🤠👍
Thank you for your video. This is the one I'm stuck with currently. I've read that the coil wire may be the problem with detection. Would it be possible to upgrade the capability of this coil with a better wire? I'm so new to this so any suggestions are appreciated. (Reminder: I'm stuck with this model for the forseable future. Can't get a new one passed through the "Budget Committee" if you know what I mean)
I have that detector and I absolutely adore it. I did videos on it, but they are not professional like this guy's video. It is a great beginner machine and very easy to use.
that machine reminds me of my radio shake metal detector that Found a tree, after I realized it wouldn't register my ring I just threw on the ground, lolz. My brother had just found several 1700's coins in same spot I had been hunting ) ; Glad I wrapped it around a tree as went out and bought my AT Pro, and later the Nox ( ;
I'm getting into prospecting up in Mariposa/Calaveras/Tuolumne counties. I've discovered great country with tons of potential but due to 4 kids on a budget. I feel a metal detector will be a game changer, which do u suggest for under 200$?? Will be red clay, granite, volcanic rocks etc I'd be searching through in old dry river beds
I bought one these,as I found the design different ? Turned out to be defective,so it got returned. Do you have a Quest X5 in your lineup of cheap detectors ? If not you should definitely get one ! It's around $149.00 on Amazon. I have one,and it's a phenomenal little detector for the money ! I believe it will beat anything in that price range, that you put it up against, with the possible exception of a Simplex + ? Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you and yours. Keep the great videos coming ! Dan in Arkansas.
Just sayin': "Moving too quickly will compromise depth and can cause you to miss weak signals or cut short the duration of a good signal. An average sweep guideline is 2-5 seconds from right to left to right. You can also measure your sweeps as your walk forward in a straight line moving 2-5 feet per second.Oct 1, 2020". I will agree on the fact that the manual and instructions were poorly written though!!!
I was looking at the fisher f22 detector and my girlfriend came in with this sunpow Detector . After watching ur video I’m going to buy the Fisher detector and just not say anything. Nobody’s feelings want be hurt and I want get Cut off from the Honey 🤷♂️
I started with a Dr otek..and it was a pretty good cheap detector..now I have a nokta simplex and it's night and day..I will probably upgrade when I find enough stuff to justify a legend.
Hell almost every tuber you see when he is detecting in the field use's the AT, but I dont understand why. I have had one but I sold it. Its just a status symbol for tuber guys now when ya think about it. Detectors that cost half as much are just as good and some are even better now a days. The machine I settled on currently is the quest X10pro for daily use. It was over 200 cheaper and does everything just as good as my Garrett AT did. Should put your garrett AT up against some of these cheaper detectors make it prove its worth all the extra money. I mean yes some are pay for what ya get but some are going to give it a run for the money...just sayin and I been at it for 50yrs started with a bounty hunter and a coin master and it grew from there. But in the end I guess its all opinion.
My girlfriend got one of these for Valentine’s Day for me. I am completely new and hope it is worth learning with there’s no way I’m gonna invest hundreds and hundreds of dollars and something I don’t even know if I’ll enjoy. Hope it works on the beach!
If you're trying to find your aluminum boat in the backyard at night, you MIGHT find it...then again, no backlit screen so....maybe it's the neighbors Buick???
Thank you for this video. I ordered one that came in today I was looking for how to use it. Looks like my granddaughter is getting this for her birthday. I got a good deal on it a coupon. Got it for $75.
What would you recommend as a good metal detector for gold and silver at a decent depth? I live close to some beaches and I would love to take my son out for some treasure hunting. I don't want to regret my first purchase and I am wanting something that's good quality . Thanks for any recommendations
Jason, have you ever done a review of the latest Garrett Apex? I’ve seen a lot of detector channels, where they’ve tested that machine in the field, but never actually give their opinion. I know that they are way over the price range that you’re reviewing, but am interested to know your opinion.
i just bought this same one had no clue how to work it for get the instrustions im brand new at metal detection you complettley helped a lot on how to use my new metal dectator thank you
🤦♂️ should have watched this before I bought this machine. Just got it today, a little disheartened but its my first machine. Might just send it back and spend a little more money on a better one
my best friend gave this metal detector for Christmas. It works very well, and we have great fun...This morning we found a piece of militaria in a field...
You probably figure it out by now but if not I had this issue and it’s the rubber washers at the bottom part where you screw the disc on. They go on the inside not the outside
For now I’m trying to focus this series on beginner machines priced under $200. I’ll be doing the Vanquish 340 model eventually which is the 540’s little brother.
Was about to buy this very one until I saw your video. I really appreciate the great review and links you shared to what seem to be really good detectors. Learned a lot!
