You know for a fact that Admiral Dave was fuming when he heard that not only did he lose a Super Star Destroyer but Admiral Rooster was personally there and led his ship in the engagement that destroyed it

I had softlocks two times in the beginning of Forces of Corruption campaign(it was not in my first playtrough) first time I bought desintegrators early(I knew they are much effective than blasters and bought it before I have recieved a task to buy it) and I couldn't rebuy it so I started the campaign again and this time(yeah I got two softlocks in one day and it was right after the first one😂😂😂) Tayber Zahn has disappeared(I noticed it when I needed to send him to Yavin 4. He was alive and displayed in left upper side of interface but I couldn't select and move him) so I started the campaign AGAIN third time in a row in one day.

doing rough math because I don't know exactly how many fighters are in each squadron (5 for x wings, 3 for y wings, and more i don't know) the Rebel losses of the SISD (Super Imperial Star Destroyer) battle are a ceiling of 500 men with the number probably being closer to 350, while the empire would have lost hundreds of thousands. the SISD had a crew of "at least 280k" -wookipedia, as well as many tens of thousands of storm troopers, tens of thousands of tie pilots, tens of thousands of other personal, tens of thousands of walkers, speeders, guns, and more war supplies. All in all, its reasonable to say that the empire would have lost close to a half a million military personal as well as enough military resources to fund a full scale, multi planet offensive against a conventional military of equal size. -all at the cost of less than 500 inexperienced rebels that were not military trained and were flying in cheep snub fighters. If this kind of lose were to happen in real life, it would be grounds to end the entire conflict. It would be the Yorktown, Cannae, or Thermopylae in Star Wars except even more impressive.

Actually it is pronounced super star destroyer The imperial part is left out. Because super Star destroyers predate the empire hell even the clone wars with the mandator one. And it would be hardly grounds to end the conflict considering they had 50 dreadnoughts.

@TK_1529 1st, I was wrong about the "Imperial" before Super Star Destoryer. Thanks for pointing that out. 2nd, I said irl, it would be grounds to end the war, but not necessarily in starwars. Now, I am of the opinion that if the empire was controlled by rational, normal people, they would definitely try to make peace negotiations after something like this (or the deathstar). However, with the empire controlled by Palpatine and his plan, the war would have continued.

The whole reason the rebels had to resort to guerrilla tactics is they had no hope of slugging it out in a long civil war the way the Separatists did. The problem I have with Star Wars is the Empire is seldom seen as the overwhelming force they were. In all the space battles shown on screen how many did the Empire even win?

Well they win in pretty much all of ESB, the Rebels just barely manage to retreat in Hoth and Bespin. They ALMOST win at Yavin. And for God's sake they effortlessly blow up an entire planet in the first hour of the first movie!!

@@LordScreech I was referring specifically to space battles (between warships, like in the game in the video). Hoth and Bespine were not space battles. Yavin technically was but did not involve any warships, just fighters and the Death Star. The only space battle involving warships as per my comment was at Endor and, given the limits of special effects at the time, not much ship vs ship combat was portrayed, mostly fighters and the Death Star II blowing up a couple of rebel cruisers. There was one quick shot of a Nebulon going point blank with a star destroyer that was pretty cool. So I repeat, the Empire is seldom show as the overwhelming force they were (especially in ship to ship space battles). And btw, that hasn't actually changed that much even with monder special effects. Most of the battles are rebel fighters and ISD. I guess in Rogue One they did kinda have a ship v ship battle beardly. It was pretty cool when Vader's ISD showed up. Compare star wars to start trek and the all the ship v ship battles.

@@177SCmaro Could be that the Rebels simply don't have that many capital ships and trying to engage the Empire in a large scale space battle is doomed to fail, like it did on Scarif, and Endor wasn't going too well either for the most part; and they were literally throwing all they had at Endor, too

@@creativename1673 Right. I'm just saying the few times the Rebels did go capital ship v capital ship against the Empire there wasn't much shown. At least in the prequels there were a few broadside exchanges between Republic and Separatists cruisers. And outside the movies there actually were a few space battles in the clone wars cartoon with big ships having at each other. Even so, Star Wars has always seemed to lack that ship vs ship battles like Star Trek is known for. In Star Wars it's mostly just background noise. What's strange is Star Wars is based on WWII combat which there is a ton to pull from and Star Trek is based on submarine warfare which is much more limited but it's actually Star Trek that has more combat to show for it.

@@177SCmaro In Star Wars the battles are usually the backdrop because without fail, the main characters are never on one of the bigger ships, they are always either on the ground or flying a fighter or something like that And the thing about Republic vs Separatists is that they both are regular armies engaging each other on more or less even ground, unlike Rebels vs Empire, so there are plenty of engagements happening over the course of the war

I’m thinking about modding my EAW, so many cool stuff is not in the base game. (I’m a fan of the empire in general with how more offensively geared they are, especially the interdictor cruiser being able to stop enemies from escaping to cause me problems later down the line)

Afaik gungans actually do great damage to infantry or vehicles, definitely shouldn’t be on the front line tho even if they’re expendable, just kinda skirmish with them till they perish

You should still try to prioritise the hero ships, he may be able to recruit them fast but he only has a limited amount of them and they can't be rescued either, plus the ship bonus they give is very powerful for them

In SW Rebellion SUPER STAR DESTROYER Cost: 282 (318 - 342 w starfighters) ISD 112 I2SD 158 Maintenance: 170 (205-254) Fighter capacity: 12 squadrons (TIE Bomber interceptor Fighter 3C 3M Defender 5C 7M XYA-Wing 5C 4M B 7C 8M ) Shield strength: 1200 Hyperdrive rating: 80 (same as ISD but far below Victory I II ISD 2 60 HD rating) Hull strength: 5000 5 Alliance Escort Carriers 32C 29M X5+ 5X6 fighter squadrons (XYA )= 310C 295M 5 Alliance Escort Carriers with XYA-Wings = resource cost to an SSD with TIE-FBI but 44% higher in maintenance. 30 Alliance fighter squadrons should easily defeat 12 TIE squadrons but Alliance Escort Carriers guaranteed to be destroyed if they get within 1200KM of a powerful turbolaser. It would be nice if distance wasn't so vague in SW, hyperdrive ratings, hyperspace lanes, maximum combat range of starfighters , power usage, fuel cost. Rebellion video game does an admiral job with distance and the differences in hyperdrives for Instance Han Solo traveling with other characters HD rating 50:50 (not with troops) Medium Transport 100:100 Bulk Transport 90:90 XYAB-Wing TIE Defenders 60:60 most capital ships 80:80. Only the Assault Transport can match Millennium Falcons speed in HD (SWR only) SSDs need some more focus in SWs - Vader's flagship and Crashes into Death Star 2 shouldn't be their only mark - legends comics games do a much better job showing/telling how powerful SSDs were.

I'm more of a fan of the Bellator SSD. Sure, it might not not be as big or have as many guns as an Executor, but its smaller size allows to bring in more ships while still bringing heavy firepower and an imposing presence to the battlefield.

@@timsaylor4390 I remember doing a glitch with the Bellator once where I could use it to get around 20-30 points over the pop cap in a battle. Not sure if it has been patched or not, or exactly how it worked, but I have a theory. Basically you have a fleet that would normally be below the pop cap. Then you add the SSD. The most important thing is you must not have a unit in the pathfindet slot. The game seems to prioritize the addition of SSDs and heroes over most other units. So as long as you can fit everything else below the pop cap limit, and have only 1 SSD or hero that would put you over the pop cap and then take that fleet into a space battle, it should theoretically allow you to bring in a fleet over the pop cap. Of course, I'm not even sure if I'm correct, but it might be worth trying again.
