@@chrisst8922 I've found a lot of great stuff in thrift stores. Like all 7 of my fluffy winter coats. And a Liz Claiborne Black Alligator Square Purse. Exactly one of my dresses was new. I'll buy something even if I don't have anything that matches it, knowing that someday I'll find something to complete the outfit. I'm sorta like the kitten version of Doug Stanhope, where in No Place Like Home (2016) he says, "You don't just buy this suit. This is years of hitting thrift stores, & yard sales, & estate sales... I'll buy the jacket, & then a year later find the pants, then a shirt, then a tie. If I gained or lost 10 pounds, that'd be YEARS of work down the shitter [snaps fingers] like that." Many times, I'll spend two hours rooting through a whole thrift store & come out empty. And I'm a slender, 6', Size 14 Trans Tabby, very lucky to have small bones. It makes it that much sweeter to find something in a cut & color I like. But with my own material, I can't be compared to anybody's singing.... I like the many different 60ish outfits the Surfrajette band wears... I am 66, and kind of stuck in the 60's... Listen to a lot of country now... I gave up on bands years ago... Not enough gigs, and hard to keep a band together... New song on you tube, Halifax Hillbilly..... 22 songs....

@@GaryMarshallellis Absolutely Gary. The Surfrajettes benefit from Toronto's flourishing music scene. Hopefully most of it will survive.. Shermy has stated they have a strong DIY ethic and other than their assistant, (the mysterious Deb) they make their own outfits. Today's show from HQ is I think the first time I've ever seen them resort to re-using an old creation. Original material is certainly my favourite, in the case of The Surfrajettes I contend that such represents their best opportunity to maximise their appeal and taking your point I think they play their numbers better than the covers. Vincent Minervino at Hi-Tide stressed in interview last year that his rosta of artists are not nostalgia driven. Not a good singer? John Lennon said the same thing! Ravel didn't like Bolero, Harrison didn't like his guitar sound!! Like you The Surfrajettes are my first new favourite band for ages and I currently have plenty of time to follow them.

I use to play bass, but I got old.. I prefer to tell people I don't sing good, and then they can decide for them self's if they like me.. I lower their expectations...
