@@quentinfogger5755 facts ! I read that there were talks to give him his own animated show but didn’t want to come off Marvel copying DC with Batman Beyond. animated spider man series was my favorite tv show growing up
The movie only subtly showed that miguel didnt have spider sense. Gwen was able to distract him and let him get sneak attacked by the vulture and none of his scenes showed the spider sense effect
Good points that actually makes a lot of sense. Especially after having watched it was wondering why it never went off. You would think that puts him at a disadvantage but he does technically have better healing factor is physical stronger than the rest (which is saying a lot considering how powerful Spider-Man normal is) and outside of the Spidey sense has far more tighten senses than the rest with better visual perception.
That was lame because Miguel would have still detected The Vulture 🤦🏻♂️ The movie did him dirty. In the comics he has other super heightened senses. Including hearing, smell, touch, so he most definitely would not have allowed himself to get distracted or sneak attacked. And he’s a genius as well.
@@marcosaquino9485 wrong. Miguel is roughly on par with Peter Parker in terms of strength, speed and agility as well as reflexes. However Miguel can take more damage than Peter as well as has accelerated healing factor. Not like Wolverines for example but he has it to an extent.
You forgot to mention when the guy tried to kill O'Hare, in the machine, that the company never had a successful merging of human to spider DNA. So he put a black widow DNA in when O'Hare was in the machine. That is why he has organic webshooters, sensativity to light, and talons.
But doesn’t Miguel have some DNA from the venom symbiote as well as Peter Parkers? If he does, that would also explain the talons, I remember learning that the serum he’s injected with (by his co-worker Aaron) was compromised of both Peter’s and Venom’s DNA.
First seen it on a promotional poster for Spiderman 2099 issue #1 traded it during lunch for 10 bucks that poster is probably worth more than Measley 10 bucks now and all I did was buy lunch room cookies 😞
@@deederelict peter's first suit was red and black , it just looked blue due to printing limitations i think. The marvel legends figure for his first suit is even red and black
There was going to be a SM 2099 cartoon in the late 90s but got axed due to being too similar to Batman Beyond. I was like 10 at the time, I would not have cared.
@@mttylerdurden9 It would be interesting for him to have one since as far as spider people go he is more ruthless when he needs to be and also his new york looks so cool.
@@quentinfogger5755 The funny thing is that the Spiderman Unlimited animated show was based on Miguel but yeah I agree that he should have his own show
Forgot to add his speed which makes him one of the fastest spiders, so fast he leaves an after image behind. His enhanced vision which allows him to see what’s about to happen in slow motion allowing him to react fast enough to avoid whatever it is
@@frostyyy7158 but he’s especially faster then the rest. It’s shown in one of those Spider-Man games I forgot the name of it & it’s even stated in the comics .
Pretty sure Miguel still has the proportional strength of a spider. Any strength differences are likely only due to personality. Miguel doesn’t seem to hold back as much. Peters writers often make him only use super strength when he’s pushed to his limits.
@@purplesky4157Miguel and Pete are equal in strength as both got their genetics from the same type of spider. It is just a difference in personality where Miguel uses his strength more openly
And considering Miguel was trying to replicate Spider-Man (not on himself obviously) it would make sense his powers were very similar but modified as he hadn't perfected the genetic modification to be exactly like peters powers, but they were more than close enough
@@purplesky4157also him not having a spider sense is because his powers didn't involve radiation but genetic modification. His own "spider sense" is his busted hearing and sight, anything he can hear or see he can react to extremely quickly, like the gunshot in his origin. For all intents and purposes, he has a spider sense
Me too he was the first I read and the first alternate spiderman i watched was spiderman unlimited although its peter you know what i mean. Best part is spiderman unlimited is briefly in across the spiderverse
Fun Fact: Marvel tried developing a Marvel 2099 game back in the 90s with ALL the 2099 heroes but it ended up getting canceled. I'd still love to see that now.
I’m interested to know what’s up with his webs in AtSV. They don’t seem organic, nor do they really seem like the traditional synthetic webbing that most Spiders use. My best guess is that it’s likely some kind of hardlight that Miguel has some minor control over after it’s shot due to the tech in his suit. Super dope, regardless
I’m guessing it’s still his natural webbing jus being enhanced by his suit . personally I think the laser webbing is coool asf , differentiates him more .
Nah it's dumb. If this miguel doesn't have organic webbing for some reason then it's a cool way to say he isn't comic Miguel, but that's already obvious from just about everything involving him in the movie lmao
My personal theory is that he DOES have his organic webbing, but its just more convenient to use the hard light webbing while fully suited up. Why open holes for his spinnerets when he can just extend his suit? Also, they're more practical in combat since he can fork them and they aren't affected by wind or gravity like traditional web shooters.
@@uncannydcmarvelous5732 Cuz people would have complained with how his parts would have a difficulty spike without spider sense so it makes sense for the game but they had no reason to make it so he didn't in ultimate spiderman but it is all over the place.
I never thought Miguel,s Spiderman was Irish and Mexican but I see his suit is very futuristic like something out of space created by humans to fight off deadly corrupted robots attacking New York city in the year 2099🕸️🕸️.
A very interesting character. Say can we get some character history videos for the transformers that will be shown in the new rise of the beasts movie next week?
The cannibal Vulture was the only one of these antagonists to appear in the first 17 issues. It's a cool story line, but it took a while to develop villains outside of the more realistic antagonists working for the corporations. There's one thing: Tyler Stone and Alchemax blamed whoever was Spider-Man, but were not clear on Miguel's secret. But that's all 1992-3 stuff. I loved it though! I'm about to drop my own one-of-these vids, so it was on my mind. Oh! I like Variant Comics' videos! I'm going to watch Spider-Punk, too.
It’s kinda a shame that across the spiderverse didn’t even mention his Irish heritage and only focussed on the Spanish, instead of being a child of two worlds that can make those of different nationalities feel connected he just seems like a Hispanic Spider-Man
@@mttylerdurden9 it may not have been stated if he is but it’s been stated that Miguel is. So if they decide to abandon it it’s a retcon, if they just don’t address it than it’s just a shame that one culture is pushed to the side because the other is viewed as more important in our current culture. I don’t wanna sound like an out of touch boomer but it is a bit concerning that we’re going back to viewing some races as more important just because of historical oppression on those people.
One of the best comic book movies of all time, definitely in my top 3, easy, and the best Spider-Man movie I've seen to date, without question. Oscar Isaac did a wonderful job as Miguel.
i loved the new movie but i do hope Miguel is hooked on rapture or something to explain why he is just sooo aggressive. i want to see my favorite spiderman also act like my favorite spiderman
Can you do the history of zorro, judge dredd, Cassie hack, qwenpool, hit monkey, vamperrella, moon girl & devil dinosaur and league of extraordinary gentlemen
he doesnt has spider senses, but hes other senses are upgraded to amazing level and has super vision that can see 360 around him dunno how but he can, also he has telepathy powers...............dunno how but he has,so basically you can say in the spiderverse movie even when he was amazing he got nerfed.
Basically Spider-man's equivalent of Batman Beyond; I absolutely like the simple but nuanced differences between a typical Spider-man and 2099's physiology.
I had about half of ALL of the original 2099 runs, first edition, that I bought as part of my comic collection (which was about 5000 books) back in the 90s. I always loved this version if Spiderman, and I could never understand why they didn't just do an updated version of Miguel for Ultimate Spiderman instead of creating Miles.
@@frostyyy7158 I don't hate Miles, though I did initially, because he was part of that initial wave of "diversity hires", which is something I can't stand. But they've done some good things with him since then. Not everything, but some things. So, I don't hate him anymore. He's alright. I just think Marvel has way too many Spider people now. Kind of like DC has way too many Kryptonians now. My only point here was that Marvel already had a Hispanic Spiderman in Miguel O'Hara, so, in my opinion, it would've been better to use an ultimate version of him than to create Miles and essentially reinvent the wheel.
@@stormhawk31 there’s a different version of every hero in every different world , so there’s not tooo many spidermen , there’s too many of every hero but one thing I’ll say is that it never gets confusing they planned all of this out so good
Can you imagine a Spider-Man that has the combined abilities of 2099 AND Miles Morales?? Along with the strengths and beliefs of Peter Parker! Now THAT is a Spider-Man I need in my life!
Finally found the perfect video because all the other ones sound like they don't know what they're talking about I am 37 years old and I remember the comic book and thought this is the coolest Spider-Man I have ever seen didn't even know the guy was Mexican. You have the best information when it comes to comics brother love Variant!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If this peter’s parents were S.H.I.E.L.D agents in the mcu, than Fury not giving the the glasses himself is kinda the most disrespectful thing Fury has ever done!
@@Max25670 I remember in their big chase scene Miles actually lands quite a few kicks and punches in. Originally that surprised me but now knowing Miguel's lack of spidey sense, it's obvious he can't anticipate Miles so that's a cool detail and I agree with you
Who do you think would win between Spider-Man 2099 and Morbius since they both have vampire powers? Who do you think would win between Spider-Man 2099 and Moon Knight since they're both played by the same actor Oscar Isaac?
There just a strange connection with Mexicans and Irish people cuz I'm Mexican and my girlfriend is a great person and she is Irish I'm glad I have someone as great as her but that's not the point the point is spider man 2099 is one of the greatest spiderman in the spider verse
He's easily in my top 5 favorite variations of the character, i also like that he's not a quipster like pete, he's got more of an edge and i like that.
He did forget a few more powers like, his eyes weren’t just white… they were like spider eyes and had supper vision that could see great distances and also night vision. He later was able to have better control over his vision and was also able to reduce it back to normal. Not sure about not having the, “Peter tingle”-😂 He did dodge those bullets instinctively but, it’s been a while since I’d read the series so…🤷🏻♂️
