And not a single drop of blood. The novel was way more brutal. The last woman here ... in the novel she bitten in half, basically she died like Quint in Jaws.
@DrFrankNStein-sf2ww Probably because it is a TV series and needed a PG 12. I you have read the MEG novella, the movie is pretty much a child movie compared. But yea, the novella is way more brutal.
You must understand one thing. The German government has a strict censorship program for all media. And Germany funded most of this flick and everyone had to play by their rules.

the boat wouldnt just snap like that either. Itd sink under the weight first, start buckling and then snap over the pressure. Also half that crew would be a pink mist.
@@sovannsok1 well, they sure want to make it as believable as possible. Choices like whale breaking boat in half only give moe impression, that its more of a fantasy, than sci fi series.
The Swarm was directed by disaster Master Irwin Allen. It was pretty blah, but it features an all star Hollywood cast: Michael Caine, Lee Grant, Peter Fonda, Olivia de Havilland and on
I remember a part in the movie ",the swarm" where a bee stung a boy making him hallucinate.scientist swoops in amd tells the kid to reach out his hand to touch a gigantic bee he's seeing then he reached out his hand and the bee disappeared.. Right? Then there was ",killer grizzley, day of the animals"

I don’t know which RU-vid channel I learned this from, but *if* a filter feeding whale decides not spit a person out of its mouth, dive instead, the deeper it dives, the deadlier it *possibly* gets. It is *said* that the pressure difference *might* cause certain organs, like the lung to shrink. So if the whale scooped up a few of those of those people, not spit them out, and dove deep, then they *might* be in trouble. That’s assuming the whale didn’t use its tongue to crush the people against the roof of its mouth.

@@droid5785 Well, *if* the sound is strong enough, it can kill instantly. But *if* held in the mouth without being spat out, and dives, the death, depending on the speed of whale diving, *could* be slow, painful. Even torturous, especially *if* the person is still conscious, before blacking out from the eventual lack of air within the mouth. That or the whale could smash the person within against the roof of its mouth with the tongue, slowly. Either way, the sound *would* be more quicker, there for more merciful, being in the mouth, not so much.

I saw a funny video of a Killer Whale that breached and landed on a two man kayak. A bunch of people were screaming and carrying on like pork chops. The kayak resurfaced about 30 seconds later with both bod's intact. Was off Japan though, so maybe there was some needle in it. Funniest thing to see though.

The book is extremely technical. Although some segments of the book were fast-paced and exciting and nerve-wracking, most of the book was slow moving and difficult (at least for me) to picture and to understand. I don't hold out a lotta hope for the movie.

Another thing I found wrong about this clip is that how come the passenger on the whale watching boat survived being crushed by a 40 T humpback whale as it falls onto their boat like it would be realistic if some people were knocked unconscious cause the weight of a whale would crush your skull and crack your spine killing you instantly it is a bit realistic as some People are dead floating on the water lifelessly meaning they died from being crushed or were eaten by killer whales
that doesn't make sense not everyone is directly under the wale, the impact throws them up in the air as the boat splits in half and sinks with people on it stuck to the bars floating off dead then the people thrown up into the air start landing in the water. The people under it were dead.
So apparently most of the killer whale shots are all ALREADY existing videos of them on the internet And since there the plot of killer whales acually killing people like sharks

2:29 those are young calf’s as their dorsal fin is short and small adults are long and tall with males being longer and females being shorter these are likely females as their dorsal fin is more curved and males are more straight
Hmm I am studying marine biology and I can give probably 5 facts as why this whole scene isn’t accurate or somewhat accurate to real life 1. Everyone on the ship clearly saw the whale slap it’s fin against the water pretty quick which is a sign of aggression and no one noticed ( there is another boat coming in telling them to get out of there but they don’t listen) 2. Why would a humpback whale ever jump on a boat with people on it ? When it will probably get injuried or killed. 3. As the whale lands on the boat there are two things wrong here one why does the boat split in half as it lands on it as it look unrealistic as the ship is bouant. It will look good if as the whale falls onto the boat that the boat gets sent underwater and then splits apart underwater instead of splitting at the surface. Two. There are no signs of the whale being injured after it hits the boat. 4. Orcas are seen heading towards the sinking boat along with the black dingy that tried to warn them of the whale jumping on their boat usually killer whales are know to save people like for instance they save drowning people by pulling or pushing them to the surface, swimming around the person to protect them from sharks, helping the person get food , luring other boats to the stranded person for help, etc for some reason they randomly start eating them ( which killer whales in the wild would NEVER do). 5. some of the killer whale scenes are acually from the internet just edited so it doesn’t look the same and their vocaliszation is the same “wooon” just edited again. The jump scare of one of the killer whales heading straight for the camera with its mouth open as it eats another victim is based on a scene from orca the killer whale where Harrison and the whale fight in the artic it’s edited as it’s shown speeding towards the camera and in the trailer it is seen with a dolphin vocalization which is not accurate at all . For granted this is a show and shows typically do not match up with the real world like this which doesn’t have accurate whales and killer whales. Unlike the attorney Woo a Netflix series THAT givies acual facts about whales in certain episodes like “ are whales born in eggs ? no because like humans they are born from their mothers. Etc you should watch it as it’s accurate there’s some drama and it includes facts about whales that are accurate to real whales . Well these are all the thing I found in this clip you can tell me how you feel about this in the reply’s

These movies are complete memes. These animals not only have military tactical accuracy but team coordination for a timed hunt, lol. If animals ave our intelligence we would be already extinct.
Actually, Moby Dick was based on a real-life incident, the sinking of the US Whaleship The Essex in 1823. It was most recently documented (though fictionalized) in the 2015 film "In the Heart of the Sea". Herman Melville (Moby Dick's author) interviewed several survivors of the Essex.
@@janefelix3821 Yeah I know the Essex' story and that Moby Dick was based on it. However I was not referring to a whale attack on a ship in general but to that specific scene where the whale suddenly jumps out of the water onto the whalewatchers' boat, destroying it while falling back down. That scene resembles exactly a scene from the 2010 Moby Dick movie; in the actual Essex scenario the boat was by the way rammed by a whale, not destroyed by one jumping atop of it.

I'm sure it's fantasy as an 85-ton whale (the estimated weight of the one that sunk the Essex) could not jump out of the water like that. It was the hard skull of the 85-ton whale with its momentum that cracked the hull (below the water line) that did the Essex in.

Reality would like a word with you... Look at the MANY orca attacks (unprovoked) in the Atlantic (well, off the Iberian peninsula region) and other regions. There have been over 500 such unprovoked attacks. And orcas and dolphins do kill for sport or fun - they even batter smaller whales and dolphins just to watch them drown. Sorry to say this, but mankind has been coastal for nearly all of their existence. Orcas are only as old as the first humans, so neither has 'home' claim there.
If you don't know yet there's some kind of intelligence in the ocean injecting the whales as well as other creatures with a substance that as far as I understand alters their biology and manipulates them to attack humans
Considering that orcas don't usually go after humans, it's *surprising* that the kids were left alone. *If* something made them eat people, don't think even kids would be spared.
