The Swastika is a very ancient religious symbol dating back to about 11,000 years ago and is believed to have originated on the Indian subcontinent before spreading to East and South Asia. The term “swastika” actually comes from Sanskrit (स्वस्तिक) and indicates an object as “lucky or auspicious.
