Patchi patchi is the sound (onomatopoeia) for clapping or something slapping together. It can also be used to mean to blink really quickly. So basically, when he was asking him to patchi patchi, he meant to blink. But knowing his boss is a silly airhead, he assumed that the boss would clap his hands instead. Instead, he started patting his shoulder, which also makes a patchi patchi sound. These guys are silly, and I love them for it. Haha!

7:34 For anyone wondering, "pachipachi" is onomatopoeia that could refer to a few different things. In this case, Momose meant to rapidly blink, in order to spread the eyedrops out, but was absolutely sure that Shirosaki would interpret it as clapping instead (another case where pachipachi would be used).

People who enjoy this series may like Manly Appetites: Minegishi loves Otsu! Trigger Warning for body insecurity and mentions of fat phobia, but the series itself is very light-hearted. They make it clear that Otsu's weight isn't something to be "fixed" and, unlike some manga, there's no point where he's made skinny. It's only three volumes and a very fluffy slice-of-life workplace romance. Sorry for the promotion, but I really love this series and need more people to know about it. 😅💛

SPOILER ALERT FOR THE MANGA - - - - - - - There's literally another character in the manga that same as the mc, he finds the boss cute. And in one scene, he literally admitted outloud that he's bi, and implied he's into the boss. So, I think the author doesn't really hide the fact that these people are lgbtq+ lol. In fact, I think the author wants you to think they are in fact, lgbtq+ since there's literally a canon queer character. It's just that the focus of the story is their wholesome interaction ( which includes them crushing on the boss ) But they can still be queer without it necessarily being about romance. If I have to guess, i think it's not bl to reach a bigger audience?
