i debated between the head & cab and the floor amp. I'm glad i went with the head and cab but it's nice that they're the same amp in a different format.
As a matter of fact, you don't need to plug a guitar cabinet in since it's a transistor amplifier, I've used mine without cab plenty of times and it's not complaining so far.
@@SeanPierceJohnson hmm from a pure technical standpoint, the power amp should work with the final voltage level since there are no tubes involved, meaning it doesn't have an output converter, which is the thing that burns through if you don't have a load on a valve amp, so it should be perfectly fine.
Great video! Maybe someone here can help me answer this: So…I have the Black Spirit 200 and if I try to connect it to my power cab ( Line 6 Super Cab Plus) the amp doesn’t turn on. The blue lights, light up for about 1 second, then it powers off. Anyone else having this issue? It works just fine with conventional guitar cabs, but this one won’t. Is it because I need to use an XLR cable when using an Fr Cab? Any help would be great on this! Thanks!
Thanks Tiago. I've never used the Black Spirit w/ a powered cab so I unfortunately can't offer any help. But using an XLR into a power speaker would certainly work...but then that Guitar Cab/Powered Cab switch is pretty much useless.
To clarify, I never did because nothing in the manual said you could. HOWEVER, I’ve been using the head alone a lot recently and nothing has happened to the amp. So you can. the RedBox does work whether there’s a speaker cab or not. I currently have the BS 200 hooked up to the matching cab AND the RedBox to my DAW. All I do is turn the master volume down and that cuts the cab signal but does not effect the DI.
i feel it depends on the type of headphones you use. Earbuds? Awful. I nice pair of over-the-ears cans? Not bad. but the headphone output on this isn't really a selling point to me.
