Soooo, I was going to give this to a relative as I already have a Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, but yesterday I ran my S8 Pro Ultra, watched it miss under the table and decided to run the Switchbot afterwards. I am absolutely in love with this vacuum. If you fancy one they're linked below!... BUY THE SWITCHBOT K10 HERE: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. You have a new fan in my 5 yr old. The way she crackled at the robot vacuum sex noises when it was stuck on the back of the chair... She loves your jokes, can't contain herself over here damn. Have a great weekend Paul. ❤ Ps, please add more outtakes!

I love your content! I do have a tip for your robot fencing (the one you used for the meal worm test). You need something more opaque for the newer lidars. I think your fencing was just translucent enough that the Switch Bot was treating it like low hanging sheer curtains.
"Smaller device for people with a smaller space and a smaller budget": I do wish more manufacturers would address this demographic. You're really on a roll with the gags in this video. The last time I laughed so hard at a video was one of yours as well, but you're really upping your game here. I appreciate that you actually test things (like the mopping cloth), rather than just saying, "That can't work very well." This sets you above a number of other reviewers. (I'm not going to name names though.) This looks like an excellent product with some really good automation features. Thanks for the review. Keep up the excellent work.
I bought the K10+ and am very pleased with it. I haven’t used the mop feature but I didn’t buy it to mop. It does a very good job and all you need to do is to pick up any small items that you don’t want it to suck up. It did have a slight problem getting out of one room but that is because the door saddle is quite high. It does make quite a loud noise when emptying the dust container but it only lasts several seconds. During sweeping the vacuum is very quiet. There’s no reason not to use it for a large house as it does a great job (it will be a bit slower than a larger robot). If you have several floors then you will need to move the docking station and use a different map (which it will create the first time it is used).
The issue I have with these vacs is the massive bin they come with. Small uk homes just don’t have the space to store something (plus my wife wouldn’t store a vac outside a cupboard). Love the content Paul!!
I was sceptical when I bought my first, but it convinced me in the first week that I'd made the right choice. It's a wonderful feeling to come back to a house that's been cleaned for you.
Thinking about smaller robovacs, I see the future ideal solution is a swarm of 10 of this size or smaller all working together. One lonely sole still takes a painful amount of time. Having said that. This one looks really nice, and just by looking at the video I can see its making great routing decisions. I really might consider buying this one. Excellent video as always.
This one takes most of its time to kiss every inch of the walls, but overall I’ve not noticed it take too long since it’s first run. When it first ran it seemed to take an eternity, but it may just be because as a reviewer I’m keen to get to the next part of my review as the week can be a little tight when reviewing something like this. I ran it 2 days ago and it never actually occurred to me how long it had taken so it’s obviously not that bad 👍🏻
Oh my God, this was the best Tech video I saw ever. You´re funny and professional, it shows you know what you´re doing. Now I have to catch up all the other videos as just subscribed now. Hugs from Lisbon
I like the K10+. Quiet, affordable, no camera (privacy), decent cleaning power (standard setting is honestly fine for regular vacuuming), small enough to easily navigate around chair legs and fit inbetween. Let's ignore the gimmicky and pointless mopping mode. Got it on Prime Day for 299€ instead of 399€ list ... you can't go wrong, especially not for that price. P.S. no pets so I don't care for the lack of poop detection.
I love the idea of small vacuum robots. Especially because you don’t have to prepare as much like lift up chairs. Last problem is hight, like drive under the bed.
🤣 the XGIMI projector was being wasted by pointing it at that wall for the sake of some dining room Netflix viewing, until yesterday when we finally got a little TV hung on the wall
I wish you or Switchbot had Canadian store links too, taxes on the import are a pain because they come afterwards. I've got a bunch of their stuff but I'd rather buy in Canadian dollars without a surprise random amount to pay at the doorstep.
I picked up the K10 on Black Friday. Love it! One correction at least with Google you can say "Ok Google send my vacuum home" and it will dock. But yeah voice commands are pretty limited and I hope there will be more added in the future.
You know… this is compelling! I don’t own any robo vacs, but we have hardwood floors downstairs and a black dog so sweeping is a thing, as is mopping… I’m very tempted by this price point! Over $1000 is daunting but this is well below that. I may have to buy it and name it “Paul’s Little Trollup” then tell everyone she wets my wood every day!
I have that same chair, and it seems to be the perfect robovac trap. My Roborock S4 will happily try to eat it and end up beaching itself. I ended up putting invisible walls around it on three sides.
I have no end of trouble with a switchbot bulb I got for free once. It's connected directly into the Alexa ecosystem without a hub, I wonder if a hub would make the difference?
First, Love your channel, been watching it for ages now and has helped me so much in making decisions on home automation equipment. You really feel like a 'mate' explaining to his dull friend! Now a question, I live in Portugal (mainly because it is wamer!). I have been looking at robovac's for ages and for the first time this appears to be one I can actually afford. Our apartment is all tiled floors with a few rugs. Do you think this would work well on tiled floors which we normally just mop?
This comment mate my day dude, thank you. Wish I lived in Portugal! I think its little mop pad is only really good for laminate and other floors that don’t have thick spaces, your mop gets into the grout where this wouldn’t reach. It would be great for picking up the dust, but not as hygienic as a manual mop
@@paulhibbert Thanks Paul, I will wait for your review of the S10 (assuming switchbot are still speaking to you!) :-). Freezing here, 14 degrees tonight!
@@paulhibbert Aint no thang. Did you ever get around to implementinng my anti burglar alarm that i suggested a year ago or so? That instead of playig a loud siren, plays porn-moaning to be sure that the neighbors notice??
@@paulhibbert Aw, I agree with Neesha. I used to keep gerbils, they are adorable, especially the babies (was sold 3 females, guess what? One wasn’t. He had a lot of fun and we gave a lot of young gerbils back to the pet shop when they were old enough!) How about you review some gerbil-cam stuff (there’s loads of wildlife gear for nest boxes etc, but not sure what’s good and what’s not)?!
good luck contacting tech suppoort if, say, your brand new Robot Vacuum K10+ keeps getting a "brush stuck" error. They don't answer thier phone AT ALL..... and email support is spotty and they ask for details to setup a repair then stop responding. I can't fathom all the raves from RU-vid reiewers except they probobly have a special phone # to call that gets answered. Us normal folks seem to be out of luck.
I got this and I can't say I'm mega impressed at it's mopping ability. It's a shame because I can get behind using disposable wipes for hygiene (ie: it'd be perfect in a bathroom for that reason) But the mopping isn't amazing at all. I've asked switchbot to send it back now largely because the mopping results are absolutely lacklustre. It's quiet I guess but that's about it. What it's got going for it, is tbh, mostly it's size.
@@paulhibbert They sell it as both though. They also can't stand behind their products, and I've noticed their customer service is "You've opened the box, screw you" I wouldn't then get anything from these guys direct if that's how their customer service is. You may have been sponsored by these guys, but I do wish I looked at their trustpilot reviews before I bought this item. Now I'm going to have to go through PayPal. They claim to have a mop and when it doesn't really mop, that's not as described. That and if they're operating in the EEA, they should abide by consumer protection afforded to residents within the EEA regardless It's not often I'd think that it's perhaps better to go with a third party company rather than the manufacturer direct if possible, but Switchbot have made me think "Hmm maybe their other products are good but if this is their customer service, then I'd rather buy via scan" That and again, they do advertise this as being a mop too. If it can't really work as a mop, then why sell it as a mop too?
I’ve just looked at their marketing material and the mop is clearly an afterthought. It’s not even mentioned outside of the spec. It mops as good as I would expect something to mop that doesn’t even have it shown in their marketing material. Did you just buy this blindly without watching any reviews?
@@paulhibbert I watched several reviews tbh and it seemed like it did a decent enough job on bathroom type floors but evidently not That and that doesn't excuse them selling within the EEA and not abiding by consumer rights afforded to us until you bring up relevant legislation
@@waqasahmed939 I mean, it drags a pad about. Did you not understand that from the reviews? It’s going to about as good a job as if you take a wet wipe and wipe it round the floor 🤷🏻♂️
What is this gibberish? To vacuum my house would take me an hour minimum! I haven’t vacuumed anything but the corners of my house for years thanks to robovacs, and when I tried last week after having some work done in the house I realised how impossible it is to be anywhere near as thorough as a robot. Your comment is totally pointless.
Before you say “funny how you decided to do it yourself after having work done” I wrongly thought it would be quicker, I gave up half way round and set the robovac going.
@@paulhibbert my comment was directed at the cleaners and somehow you took that as being disrespectful to you ? Seriously? over sensitive or what? My word I bet you give yourself so much stress running this channel if my little comment triggered you
I bought one and it's great. Multi Floor works well but the online instructions suck - you need to work it out for yourself. BUT - NO RU-vidr has mentioned this and Paul, neither did you.... The base station WARNS it has to be on a hard surface.... I ignored that as the house is carpeted and the only hard floor is the kitchen but I certainly dont have the option to put it in there. The vac CANNOT return and dock on carpet as the micro adjustments of the wheels required to line up the charge points veer off on carpet. The Vac simply headbutts and butt-butts the base station until giving up. My solution was to put a mat underneath the base station and thats worked. Why on earth didnt Switchbot include a small plastic clip on base to enable the vac to dock on carpet?? Seems a silly omission for a vacuum that its base station cannot be put on a carpeted floor!
One of the best things about having a robot vac (of any quality) is that the kids tend to be more careful to not leave stuff on the floor because they don’t want it to get eaten. Thus creating a cleaner space merely through the threat of stuff getting chewed up
This looks very good! very tempted any idea how big a ‘step’ it can handle? We have all hard floors but with a 2.5 cm step between the kitchen and living room and 4cm between the living room and conservatory (?) love the channel as always and love the same jokes * EVERY* week..😉
How are you coming up with it being $1100 cheaper? Its more like $700 dollars cheaper basically half price which is amazing price comparison. The S8+ on Amazon is $1199 and the K10 $499. Did the prices change drastically?
@@paulhibbert have to be honest - I paid less for my X8 than the SwitchBot mini. Love it, call It Henry and liken it to a little puppy lol - I’ll be honest, I’ve bought a lot of stuff based off your recommendations over the years and this has been one of the best 👍👍
Soo Paul, I lost my coffee when you did you mimicking wife routine, this needs to be a regular. I also love the “no,no now he’s doing horny robo vacuum jokes. :-). You make my Saturday mornings, you really do.
