What is commonly known as The Hodges Meteorite, is called Sylacauga by those who study it. One such meteorite expert is Dr. Julia Cartwright, Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama, who is currently doing analysis on the meteorite to help us understand more about how this star fell on Alabama in 1954.
Visit the Alabama Museum of Natural History and see Sylacauga for yourself!

Fortunately, "Cylacouga" isn't a word. How is it you're not smart enough to copy the word "Sylacauga" from the title? I mean, it's already spelled out.

Meteorite is only a tiny little pieces of asteroid. Do you agree? Meteorite are clean and no holes due to the fact that they are thinner and easily burned upon entry on planet earth. What if it is an asteroid, which body is round and thick? Asteroid travels many times faster than a meteorite upon entry because of their weight. The fall of heavy objects are faster than the lighter ones. So therefore, an asteroid fusion crust won't be the same as meteorite because it won't be as burnt as a meteorite. Do you agree? Some meteorite are not magnetic due to the fact that asteroid are not entirely magnetic. Do you agree? No earth rocks contains many kinds of metals and gemstones in one rock. Do you agree? So therefore, rocks with many kinds of metals and gemstones are space rock. Do you agree? Chondrules are only found in space rock. Do you agree? Space rock smells. Do you agree?

Your asteroid fall theory as opposed to a meteorite fall is so true, yes space rocks smell strange.

I think it's not right for you to change the name of something you didn't discover, it hurts the lady and she discovered it. You should not mess with its name.
@SaltyPirate71
@SaltyPirate71 5 месяцев назад
First: that's a scientific standard naming process for cataloging and identifying in research. This has no bearing on any local or common names for any meteorites. Second: Ann Hodges has been deceased for 52 years. I assure you, she is giving no shits about the name.
