The Sylvers definitely SNAPPED on this one and don't even get me started on Ms Patricia, she carried the entire song effortlessly👌. This should have won them a Grammy or some music award because this song is criminally underrated.
This is my favorite song by the Sylvers. I first heard it on an audiocassette that a co-worker gave me in the late 1980s. A beautiful song! It's songs like this that make me SO glad I grew up in what I call 'The Golden Age of R&B Music'. Today's R&B music has lost MUCH of its shimmer and shine, not to mention its value.
Class of 1984 ! Whoever is the guy who posted their American Bandstand performance : if you read that, buddy, you gotta post it anew ! They were the six of them, Foster was sporting one of these white overall (with a zip) that were fashionnable, back then ; while the two other brothers were wearing blazers, and ties; the sisters were wearing one of these torn clothes that were fashionnable around 1984/85, New-Wave looking threads; and all of them dancing; performing a smooth choregraphy...
my wife is really tired of me listening to this song but its like musical crack i am addicted!! its stuck in my head, this and forever yours literally will not stop playing in my head!!!!
I really really didn't think too many people knew about this song. It's music that time forgot. I have never forgotten this song. It's always one of the first songs that i down load to my phones.
The Sylvers had'nt been on Soul Train since 1978 when Forever Yours came out so they never performed "Falling For You Love" on Soul Train. They performed this song only on American Bandstand in early 1985.
I'm in love with this song. I swear, 80s Soul and R&B hits so differently than anything else. Many of the songs were soulful and seductive -- a perfect prelude to lovemaking. Musical euphoria.
For me this song has been a great discovery ... and Patricia. It makes me feel super nostalgic. What great things are discovered by chance sometimes ..
This song would've been perfect for that episode on Miami Vice called The Prodigal Son pt2 , in the scene where Valarie and Rico were slow dancing at a night club.
I just discocvered this song in early January when I first found out about you tube. I moved away from the sylvers music as I began to get it to other artist such as Chaka Khan and Rick James but I know they were the first group that I fell in love with. Their dancing and stage presence were always delightful to watch. It is a Shame that this song didnt hit to hard because I feel like it was a excellant song for a comeback on the charts.
Very underrated song of that time!! Have this album. The Sylvers were fantastic live so glad I saw them like the Jackson 5. Great era music back then!!
I have been trying to find out for 20 years who sang this song, I tape this song on a cassette off the radio, but never knew who did this song until now. It's like a void been filled. It's like a journey with accomplisment. Thank you THE SYLVERS for a beautiful song with exquisite lyrics, I wanna thank the person who put up this song on RU-vid :)
I was only 3 when this jam came out but at 29, it's the ONLY thing i've been able to listen to for the past 2 months!!! I absolutely LOVE Pat's voice!!!! And the performance on ABS?? Marvelous!!!!
This song is one of those underated songs out in the music world.. I remember this back then but this love ballot was short lived on the radio..plus to put more damage, this was the Slyvers last record made in '85... I hope someone like Beyonce dig it out the crates and remix it a little to bring up to date and make it a re-hit..
I have this CD & cassette. This is one of my favorite cuts. But There background vocals are crazy smooth and on point, when I sw them live in Oakland back in the 70's - they sounded just like there records - perfect.
My friend Gilbert had me take him to the store and he bought this album we cruised home smoked some 1980 weeds and jammed it out YESS Leon Sylvers isan amazing record producer..
Happy February Black History Month from the Little Angels 👼 to the Sylvers. The Sylvers deserves a star 🌟 on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, now is the time. I love 💕❤️❤️❤️this song.
Well it was kinda odd that The Sylvers voted Leon out, recorded that shitty Disco Fever Album (under the production of Georgo Morder) and then reunited with Leon in 1981 for their Concept album (their first and only albun on the SOLAR records) and once more for Bizarre in 1984. Most of the Sylvers worked in the SOLAR studios as session musicans and co writers for Shalamar, Dynasty, and The Whispers between 1978 to 1984. Unsung failed to highlight those points.
I wonder if they had a video for this song would it have made a difference? Either way this is such a good song he really deserved a better fate than one TV performance and no video. Another problem is the lack of control DJ's have in control over their music. I hope at the very least the Sylvers were satisfied with the quality music the album was
The first time I herd this song was going to my Aunt Anabell's house in the city with my Nana amazing back then ran to the record store just to buy the album for this song along heh...any of you DJ's have the original album or on an old School Tape...this group blew Debarge out the water...and the thing is they share the common thing with the Jackson's they were all brother's and sister's....TY for posting this up!
...I Never Thought That I Would Ever Hear This Song Again...My Best Friend Was Savagely Murdered In 1984 And This Song Had Just Came Out... R.I.P Godfrey "AL" Ferguson 1963-1984
I figure that's what happen, cause some of your videos were my favorites and I would retrieve them and that message appeared. Glad that you and Nick continue to keep going no matter what!
I could see a video for this, "Boomerang", and "In One Love And Out The Other" but by late 1984 many blosoming black artists like Pennye Ford, Grady Harrell, Eugene Wilde, and Johnny Gill were doing music videos that were limited to a few outlets. The Sylvers could've had a lift on the charts even if only BET played their videos (if any existed) and they were veterans compared to the artists I mentioned. Moving to Geffen records was a bad move.
They did an american bandstand performance for this song. The other song that was released from this LP was In One Love Out The Other. Unfortunately Geffen label didn't promote this album or put any effort into pushing the singles out with a video.
@xscape2xscape There was an American Bandstand clip on youtube before it was taken down. Surprisingly, there wasn't ever a Soul Train performance for this song.
This takes me back to my Sophmore year of high school (ALHS, Brooklyn NY...STAND UP!!!!). I also can't help but wonder what the rest of the siblings are up to? I know one passed away and another is currently producing, but what about the rest?
