Lost our 12 years old BC named Gizmo just after the new year, and we miss her very much. Would make you understand what she wants very well. Very smart and I had many conversations like that with her. If I said what she was trying to convey she gave a very sharp bark. I would play with her to find out how much her vocabulary had increased by not saying the normal trigger word and she learned several alternatives.
We didn’t know anything about Border Collies until we had one, and my mom always used to say that our dog was one of them (he came to our house at night one day and we adopted him). I presented these videos to her a few days ago and she was amazed about how similar these dogs yawn compared to our big boy 😄
Of course, she's going to start at you! Giving you the "eye" is how Border Collies get sheep to move and humans to give into them, usually for snacks. My Tess used to herd me around. Sadie' s sister reminds me if my Gem who was more white than black. I named her after the lady in 'The Empath' on "Star Trek". Sadie reminds me of Little Bo Peep, Tess had a son (JackBNimble) girlfriend's name. I also had a red/white girl named Gypsy Rose Lee who had a right blue eye and a left brown eye. All beautiful and tremendously smart.
Mine is only 2 and a half and I'm already dreading the day he has to leave me. He gives me hugs and kisses everytime he hasn't seen me or first thing in the morning. All he needs in life is his Daddy and some frisbee! :-) I will be a BC owner for life.
Those and Pembroke Corgi's essentially the welsh or any Corgi or either rather, are the same but the welsh equivalent of a Border Colli, quite literally both are the rocket scientist level intellect for the dog world haha!

I have a Labrador/Border Collie mix and he "talks" like this too! Especially when, whatelse, hungry! LOL My previous dog was purebred lab who barked all the time but my current dog, definitely seems to get the talking from the border Collie side.
My BC's talked back to me too! Tess-at 6 weeks-told me she didn't want me naming her a Vulcan female name-T'Ami-so when I said "Tess, you're a mess", she wagged her tail so I named her Tess and her owner, a farmer/vet, said she needed a middle name so I came up with Tess Siobhan Connor.
She reminds me of my golden retriever who just passed. I uploaded a video of him yelling at me messing with him and pushing him around. He was the best.

I have a BC at home who is a boy named sparky. He is a year old and will turn 2on May 25 he was born in 2014 and is my best friend. He saved me from a dog attack on Friday. He was brave because he was smaller than the two German Shepherds . He gave me and him and my brother time to get inside my dad finally got the dogs away by screaming and yelling at them. He also called the police Sparky is my hero. 😄
My BC is just a bit over a year old, and she protected me from an empty plastic bag that fell off a table in the middle of the night just outside the bedroom. As soon as it fell, I woke up to her laying over my chest and growling at the bag. My brother has a German Shepherd that she gets to play with often, and she will often try to protect me from him (even though she doesn't need to at all), lol. Loyal dogs, absolutely brilliant breed. ^_^
My border collie is similar. He plays with my aunt's GSD every once in a while. He thinks he's a much larger dog than he actually is and tries to be the boss. Their both just big sweethearts. My two favorite breeds.
Hey Dude, This video came up in my old bookmarks tab on my ol` laptop, I haven`t used for a while. I happy it did. Because about 4 years ago, I lost my Border collie ~ Shadow She was 14 years old. I never got over her passing. :/ After about a year or so, I was missing the company of my black and white friend so much., I sourced a female, puppy... anyway, to cut a long story short. The night I brought her home, I saw *this video* of Sadie (searching a suitable name for my new friend) and thought: Yes! Sadie that`s what I`ll call her. Sadie is now 2 years old. All mine are gone over the Rainbow Bridge now. I hope to get better from the Covid aftermath effects (coughing, fatigue, and muscle aches) so I can get another Border Collie. I have had 2 friends with dogs named Sadie- one a Beagle and one a GR/Viszla mix-but I hope to give her a female Vulcan name-T'Ami.
Lol my border collie does this bark/yawn thing whenever she wants something.. also talk to her the same way you do haha!! It definitely teaches her so many words
How adorable, we love our two Border Collie's. Sisters, same litter, Chloe & Abbey. Unfortunately this past March we lost our sweet girl Chloe to liver disease. They sure are a wonderful breed. Sadie talks like our Abbey.
You can see how frustrated he is. When dogs are stressed or frustrated in this case, they do that fake yawn. Doggo: "I'm smart but don't make fun of me!"
One day my dog’s back leg was hurting she has authritis. My niece said what’s hurting on you my dog put her paw on my nieces leg. My niece touched my dogs back leg and she winned
I just found your channel and love it. I watched "The talking Border Collie, Sadie Part 1 and 2 and really enjoyed them! I've subscribed but realized that you have not posted anything for a few years now. I really hope you post new videos. Sadie is so awesome! my border yawns like that too it is when he his happy when I am talking to him sweetly, would love to breed my lil Gatsby with your darling lil Sadie, it looks like she wants all the attention from you and doesnt want the other dogs to get any smart pooch
