The NEW TAMING Update has just dropped (May 27, 2024 for PC), so let's get into it together!
The next update for Smalland 1.0 dropped early than expected, and it brought with it lots of new changes. In this episode we review all the new changes one by one. Changes include:
- Traps
- Treats are Out - Bait is in
- New Bonding Feature
- Incapacitation
- New Tamable Creatures - 38 to be exact

This update will change the way we get tames in SMALLAND, so this episode is definitely worth the watch.

I had no idea this was playable. I thought they just launched a trailer, and we'd have to wait a few weeks. XD -edit: I cant wait to have a Mantis pet. They're my favorite insect (next to moths).

Good to hear I was not the only one who was caught with their pants down Ichbin, haha! They released in a weird way and did a poor job of saying who it was released for. I am just now hearing it's on PC only. Soooo, yeah. The mantis looked good. I don't look forward to fighting it. Hey, I wonder if you can tame the moths now?

Good video! The traits are pure random. I got a Dragonfly with 1 legendary, 1 rare and 1 uncommon one who where only lvl 4. It is a bit hit and miss. I bet they want you to spend time re taming until you got what you want. lol

I have trouble unlocking advanced baits. Got only basic one from Skadi. Even unlocked other traps, but there are no new bait recipes available. Where can I get those?

Hello! You have to talk with the different NPC and complete their tasks. Like with Skadi - you defeated the Rhino Beetle. So your next one should be with Lisandra, I believe.

trying to find a new taming list which one are not tamable and all new ones? honestly the tarantulas in the desert are super cool and wanna so freak my brother out when we do coop lol

I haven’t seen a list anywhere. I am trying to see what all the new tames are. I believe most of the animals, apart from boss creatures (and the snake I’m guessing) are now able to be tamed. Scaring your poor brother?! That’s a horrible idea… let’s do it! I’m pretty sure you can now tame the tarantulas! (I’d beat it up to half health and try some of the better traps with it. Let me know if you are successful. Good luck!)

This update makes me want to tame everything!!!! My first play through I did not tame anything. The old way seemed a little hard for me to do. I want one of EVERYTHING!!! 🤣😂

I know whatcha mean. I’m going around the world and I’m saying ohhhh, now I can tame you and you and you! I want to try a tarantula hawk first I think? All I’m going to be doing is letting my tames.

@@CLRgamingRN I see that the consoles got the update today (6-27-24) so I will try it out tonight after work. Not sure about the new upcoming base raid update but I would imagine that is FAR away from the consoles so I can wait on that. Will probably need to re-watch your video on this taming update. Appreciate your hard work on this.

@@CLRgamingRN So far I am enjoying it. I tamed (trapped) a Lubber (pretty), a Tarantula Hawk (disappointed you can't ride him, but he is a beast when it comes to fighting...love that), Stag Beetle (I named him Tank because he is and he carries stuff like a ladybug...love that) and a dragonfly by mistake (he flew into the trap when I was trying for the Lubber)...I ended up releasing him because is was a terrible fighter and you cannot fly him. I really love that we can now take more than one in our "party"...that is amazing and really helps with harvesting and fighting. Keep up the great work CLR...enjoying all you do.

@@BillLambert-sq9uk Ye.. A bit dissapointing that you can't flt on Dragonfly. I would think it is the next update from Damselfly, only a bit faster ands stronger. They could just make same flying mechanic.

it means that we can tame the viper or the ryno bettle in the ambar valley or just a tatantula or a tarantula hawk?

I don’t know for sure at the moment, but I would doubt you’d be able to tame boss creatures. Running around on a snake would be awesome though! I will have to do more testing and get back with you. Forgive me, I do not know Russian. What are you trying to tame? You can tame almost any animal (there are over 38 tames). You will need better traps to get better tames. Traps are unlocked at the beginning, but the bait is not. You will have to advance the story to unlock the baits. Let me know if this helped. @@CLRgamingRN They are all new tames but I would think you could ride them. Torantula Hawk looks just like a hornet with different colors. The other two are dragonfly and butterfly. Again the dragonfly looks like a damselfly with different colors.

@@raeven63 As of now, none of those are mountable. I was disappointed that Dragonfly was not. Should be just like Damselfly, but a bit faster cause it is bigger.

No update on console (PS5)...We're getting used to it...Unfortunately. It'll probably arrive when you get the one with the new armors, weapons, etc...Thanks for the vidéo ! The worst thing about the new system (for those who can't spend all day playing the game) is that if you don't look after your creatures every time you play, they can free themselves... Another genius idea. I can only imagine those who have dozens of creatures and have to look after them every day...

I am hearing that Console will be released in mid-June which is when I felt it was supposed to drop in the first place. Maybe they are testing it out on PC first to make any changes before releasing it fully to console - since it seems that can't troubleshoot console as quickly as they can the PC version. The tame bond hitting 0 and them leaving is concerning. I do not know how long the Bond level can be 0 before they leave. Like I say in the video, I wish it was on a slider. @@CLRgamingRN In June there will be an update for cross-plateforme multiplayer, world development and expansion, consumable system enhancements, new event types, more faction tiers, new creatures, new armors and weapons, new equipment. "Taming update" was planed for...April. The developers have changed and delayed everything... For console gamers, we'll probably get "taming" update in June, and the next update... Maybe in July. The developers are showing contempt for console gamers.

Oh I see what you are saying. Is there a place I can see this info for Console? Is it on their website because I don’t recall it. I like to stay aware of what’s happening in the console versions.

Awww, not a fan of Jer-Gnome I see. There are time stamps if you want to skip ahead for certain sections. Info is still good. Jer-Gnome is a character from the season that people love.
