Hard rock is “state of the art” bc it has state of the art technology and has been totally renovated with new concourses new suites new seating new media boards new everything. Organizations and fans need to get it out of their head that they need a “new” or “futuristic” stadium every thirty years. The best stadiums are stadiums that last millennia not decades.

@@daviejz6698 That's not why. Besides, tax payers split the bill mostly for new stadiums and not owners. The real reason was after the Marlins park debacle, county officals weren't going to vote on a new stadium for the dolphins. A rennovation was the only option to dolphins stadium.

@@supasmitsSports stadiums nowadays focus much more heavily on fan comfortability rather than the sporting events being played. Retractable roof stadiums were created exactly for the reason of spectator comfort, Idk about you, but I’d rather sit in a comfortable seat in a retractable roof-climate controlled stadium, especially during either the summer down south, or up north during fall and winter rather than an architecturally boring open air stadium with absolutely zero roof to protect fans from the brutal heat for a few of the first nfl games during regular season and preseason. Don’t get me wrong, Raymond James Stadium is an excellent NFL/College Football/Soccer stadium already as it is, the capacity isn’t too low nor is it too high for college and nfl games. There’s plenty of suites, fans are much closer to the action than a lot of other similar stadiums and the pirate ship is a nice touch, but the biggest issues that are growing is the fact it’s a completely open air stadium in one of the most southern cities in the country sitting not too far north of Miami, which is an extremely hot and humid city already, and it’s more closer to the equator than Houston, San Antonio, and Austin TX, and keep in mind the nearly every professional sports team in Texas is either indoor, retractable roof, or has a large overhanging roof specifically for the purpose of protecting fans from the sun and other elements. Examples are Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX (Texas Rangers/Retractable roof) Minute Maid Park in Houston (Houston Astros/Retractable roof), NRG Stadium (Houston Texans/Retractable roof), AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys/Retractable roof), and there’s quite a few others I could name off but it would take me forever too. Considering how hot it is down in the part of the world they’re located in, it makes sense. Yet Tampa Bay which is more southern than any of those cities/stadiums has NO roof covering any part of the stadium and there really isn’t enough suites to make up for the heat. I get the NFL is during the fall and winter besides for the preseason and some beginning regular season games but it’s the most logical option to place some sort of covering. I’m hoping the Bucs put together a few hundred million to renovate the stadium and add a roof exactly like what the Miami Dolphins did with Hard Rock Stadium as it was a completely open air stadium prior to 2016.

I don’t understand your logic saying Tampa doesn’t have a good fan base, when their HOCKEY team ranks third in attendance! Hockey is the last sport you’d think would succeed in Tampa or Florida, however it has and that’s because the team has great ownership, Amalie Arena was built in 1996 has had several renovations including an area outside where fans gather to watch the game on a big screen. Again, if hockey can succeed in Tampa, there’s no reason football and baseball can’t unless ownership isn’t committed which is very questionable with the Rays and the Glazer family already threatened move the franchise once in mid 90s after purchasing the team if they didn’t get a new stadium. Tampa has hosted 5 Super Bowls, Tropicana Field hosted an NCAA Final Four in 1999. It would beneficial for the Glazer family to pony up the money to build a new indoor stadium for the Buccaneers with a transcendent roof. The Tampa area continues to grow in population, this idea that is some small town with no fans is false, again look at the Tampa Bay Lightning as evidence, again they play hockey, how can hockey succeed and not baseball and football? Time start calling out these owners, and have them put their money where their mouth is. And why are the Lightning in the top 5 of attendance in the NHL and the NFL, MLB in middle to bottom? Well besides ownership, they have great on ice product, location of the arena. Raymond James Stadium doesn’t have much shade, it’s hot down there, I personally avoid day games in the summer here in Detroit at Comerica Park for lack of shade, so I get it, why would benefit the Bucs to build an indoor stadium. They just finally built an indoor practice facility after all these years! Florida is hot AF, so if the Glazers ponied up a big chunk of the new stadium they’ll make that money back ten fold, hosting more Super Bowls, then they’ll definitely get the Final Four, Raymond James Stadium has already hosted the CFP National Championship, this is a city that has hosted big events and is only growing in population so the slander of the fans is incorrect. Go look at Tony Dungy, Joe Maddon, John Gruden, where do they live? In the Tampa Bay area! Because it’s a great spot that continues grow in population. Again call out these owners, wish Lightning owner Jeffrey Vinik would purchase the Rays, Bill Davidson who won 3 NBA Championships with the Detroit Pistons, purchase the Lightning in the late 90s as a flounder expansion team, 2004 they won the Stanley Cup, Bill Davidson passed away in 2009 and sold the Lightning in 2008. What I’m tired of is the corporate welfare these billionaires are given, they have the money to fund these stadiums, look at Stan Kronke with Sofi Stadium, Steve Balmer funding the Clippers new arena, these guys have the money and will make a great return on their investment. I’m tired of fans being crapped on while incompetent and or frugal ownership receive a pass. I love see all major cities in the United States get together and collude that that they will not use tax dollars to fund, renovate any stadium.

The funny thing is the Lightning have the longest sellout streak in professional sports since March 2015 so it’s not a city issue. Also Tampa's tax payers are likely not intrestrd in any new statiums anytime soon, it still easlily sells out for events, like Taylor Swift. Ironcily its right next door to the Yankees Steinbrenner Field. I've always found it strange that the Rays were in St Pete, and the Yankees in Tampa. If the Bucs really want a new stadium in my view (or even renovating Raymond James), the Glazers should sell Man United in order to finance it. This makes sense in my view because Man United's global fan base is absolutely livid with the state of their club under the Glazers ownership especially when it comes to the on field product, though it is better than what it was a decade ago. Also Old Trafford (where Man United play) is in desperate need of a renovation & the Glazers don't want to pay for it which is why a change in ownership is needed.

I’ve been to Raymond James this season. The stadium still stands up and is an incredible experience.

The Bucs are worth $2.28 billion, up ten-fold from when Glazer purchased the team. That's a pretty good return even for a franchise that now asking for a new building. Beyond absurd tax payers are paying for any of these stadiums. Owners can fund them off future worth and profits they simply want a hand out. How much more are the Bucks going to be worth if they get a new stadium at tax payers expense ? Cities can help put a deal together but should be paid back evey cent. Vikings crafted a deal to that extent where the City issued bonds and owned part of the building received revenue back until the bonds were paid off by the team. Vikings paid off all the Bonds 20 years early and now the City does not have any further obligation to the Vikings or the stadium. The Vikings now own the building and get all the revenue from it. Any argument about jobs is a full blown horse sh*&. They provide short term construction jobs and a handfull of low paying jobs, hardly the jobs creations the arguments make.

Let them relocate… Personally, for only 8-9 home dates/year.. the ROI is not there. These teams pay a pitiful amount for rent that don’t even cover what it costs the city/state to maintain it. Game days don’t make the area anywhere near enough $$$ to cover what they spend to build it. The time is coming when cities will just tell them to leave.. not going to build it… LA and Oakland have already done it… SoFi was built with private funds… LA refused to do more than help acquire the land… Oakland… the Raiders are gone and the A’s are trying to… The Raiders were petulant children and the A’s won’t field a team… Other cities will follow.. even more so now that the economy is in the toilet… Let the team built it themselves or move.. the rebranding their team alone will cost them almost as much as the stadium would have been worth… at least MLB hosts 81 games/year.. here.. 8or 9… then the ticket prices will be so high that hell, you could make your car payment with the same money… let them leave.

😂😂 and yet I guarantee that the cities and county will still pay up. Oakland thought they were gonna start a revolution and lost all their teams...none of those citt council members will be voted back in. So who won again???

I agree. Look at these owners of Pro Sports. They are huge millionaires or some Billionaires. Let them finance their loan internally. Lay off the taxpayers who get hosed time and time again.

@@SKS8080 Here is one thing to think about… who built Wrigley field? Fenway Park? Ebbets Field? The orininal Yankee Stadium? and many other fields in that ERA… The teams themselves… Why should the taxpayers foot the bill for a single purpose stadium… then be force to pay ticket prices to use the dump? They shouldn’t… LA said no paying for SoFi… Oakland has been resistant… the problem is.. cities know re-location is not as viable for Football or Baseball as it once was. If they toe the line.. teams will finally do what the Rams did and the Bears are planning… building it themselves with private funding… I can see the arenas for Hockey or basketball… they are not single use arenas.. great for concerts as well… but baseball and even worse.. Football… so big and so limiting.. football is the worst as so few home games… at least baseball has 81 home games…

@@sirchi8731 The A’s haven’t left yet.. and the Las Vegas deal is not done.. running into road blocks of its own. Still, Vegas is a much smaller market than Oakland.. So with the poortly run A’s.. who would win? Vegas would probably Rue the day they agreed to the stadium within only a few years… and Oakland.. Less hassles from an owner with more demands.. and I’m not even counting the Raiders.. they have trouble staying for more than 20 years in one place anyway. 20 years from now, they give Vegas the shaft too…

I agree it's time for a new stadium I don't think physically it looks bad it's just the location it's too inland the team's theme is based around pirates and why not have a waterfront spot? Tampa is not a giant marquis city like NY, LA or Chicago people exaggerate traffic concerns. Raymond James is in the middle of nowhere down the block from the airport too far away from anywhere cool

@@Captain_Cups Im from Tampa, but I lived in Orlando for 10 years. And for those 10 years you want to know what I did? I drove to St Pete to watch games. But the Tampa bay fan is too lazy to cross a 25 minute bridge? The owner is cheap and stuck in his ways, he personal development Interest in st Pete that’s why he stubbornly wants to keep the team there, the team is not coming to Hillsborough county, so before they approve another stadium in St Pete that fans will be too lazy to drive to, then yes, let the team go, let them flourish in the Kissimmee/ Orlando market, you don’t know what you have until you loose it.
