I think they gotta add something like passive income: Thralls visiting and drinking and hanging out may leave some amount of money as a payment. Also would be cool to upscale that income by adding drinks and food to Bar's inventory, basically making cooking and brewing in game more potent.
This addition is a start to refocussing from pure PvP to game immersion. PvP, though fun, is just a rinse and repeat session, intermixed with some exploits, etc. A very positive addition.

I did build a tavern on a solo server at my base but it didn't feel real, but now this is gonna make it feel so much alive and filled out, am so looking forward to this update and where it goes next
This is cool. But I REALLY don't like that you HAVE to do a purge just to get the tavern keeper, and sounds like you have to do multiple ones. If they added them to random thralls cages that you can find as well I feel like that would be WAY better
The best thing is what this mechanic opens up, in a future we could have something like a bazaar where traiders can spawn or training ground where we could put a thrall to lvl them up. The tavern was a great idea im excited for the future.
I'm pretty new to the game but wow the tavern is a really neat idea, feels really fun acquiring it and getting to decorate it. Then popping in to see who shows up between adventures to recruit folks is really fun. Can't wait to see where this goes!
I can't say I've liked chapter 3 so much... I've never been interested in purges. Even with these new mechanics, I rarely play them, but these new tavern mechanics are really a game changer, especially for those who play the game solo like me... I already have a tavern in my base and now I'm going to expand looking for this new content. Can't wait.
I've been building for two days and it's more spectacle than spectacular but it should be ready for the next update, kind of sad that you have to free her from the purge, when it works that is. Looks promising but you know how many missed opportunities this game had to be great and were never taken.
The potential that this system has is very interesting. Imagine being able to hire a boat captain as a contact to take you to Siptah allowing two way travel between both exile lands and siptah on the same server / save game? Problems will arise in a server environment but for singleplayer games this sounds like a doable idea.
the ingame currency will change conan exiles. "Want some pvp but got no time to grind?Just buy 250k gold in the shop and buy everything you need ." thats where this is headed;he said it himself in the stream.
Totally agree! I cant wait to get my first quest from a strange hooded traveler... There can be done so much with this. Not just fetch and kill quests but unlocking dungeons, known dungeons that spawn in new things to get a artifact from, Mysterious powerful gear that the mysterious traveler happens to have a map of the location of. Quest chain events! Hell, that bat demon portal can finally be a doorway to a realm filled with danger and glory, and guess who has the key... I am excited!!!
I'm really looking forward to this tavern update. My friend and I put together a tavern on an official server (Official PvE - Asia#1335) right next to the sinkhole. Originally, it was just an elevator to get down, but we decided to turn it into a full tavern with a guard and even a map room. Now, knowing it'll have a real function once the update hits, I'm super excited. Can't wait for it!
I use pipi just for the thespians you can spawn and make your base feel populated. Thx to this I'm don't have to do that as much anymore XD (will still do it if I make barracks or ...) Also, I had the feeling in the livestream, that this feature is really Denis his baby, he was so excited about it and he really wants this to carry in the future.
I am always happy for more in the game. Be nice if they fixed it so I could just save my game. Build for an hour, “exit and save” log back in tomorrow in man hour back ward.
i’ve been taking a break from conan for the last few months, but this update might just bring meg back in. since i’m only playing solo, it feels not as lively sometimes, even with placing a ton of thralls throughout the base. this seems very promising, i’m excited :)
Is there a way to block NPC's from some chairs or tables? It would be hard to RP if there are NPC's sitting everywhere, blocking players from sitting together or at all.
I see this as adding a practical aspect to having a tavern, but ALSO a way to improve the RP in having a tavern. Walking into a tavern now, if there aren't thespians in play, feels rather... bland unless there are also several other players. This system will fill up these taverns with NPCs, making them seem lively. This, in addition to creating a way to hire crafters and fighters instead of having to knock them out. Which, again, gives a more RP vibe to it- especially for those whose characters are against slavery.
Very looking forward to siege warfare just really wish they put it on Septa also. Feels like a bit of slap in the face that you pay for the DLC but can't have the same stuff. That is now being added.
Don’t see why i have to have a purge just to get a bar, seeing as it takes a week or two to build a base on official, because of the incredibly Slow crafting speeds and extortionate cost of crafting. All that time and effort destroyed by an OP purge just to get a bar. Seems like Conan Exiles can No longer be titled as a Survival game. So your right , this is literally a game changer.
Even if the NPC attracted end up kinda bad, the tavern system sounds fun. Taverns is one of those themes that official and mods have a lots of stuff for. But there is no use for it. BTW I'm probably setting up a bartender trader in my personal server for my friends. We don't have time to grind the purges. (Think of savage wilds thrall traders). The contact system is also very interesting they are probably going to put the other random traders like the camel guy. So the multiplayer aspect how the tavern behaves for other characters not from your clan did you test this out?
Apart from this tavern aspect I am also really looking forward to being able to make my bloody archers stay where I want them to be and not for them to act like marathon runners and spend all their time running around until they get stuck on stick or something equally ridiculous. I was about to delete the few archers I have until I saw how they plan to fix the archers. Here’s hoping it really does fix them.
Hey Eradicati0nn, have you tested the fence foundations in the test live? Apparently you can no longer snap them appropriately to bring foundations down in small increments.
Ive just tested it out, yeah it is seemingly gone, likely tied to the fence foundation fix in the patch notes. However, fence foundations now want to sit on top of foundations, which doesn't seem right to me. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a fix that has caused another error. I've raised the issue, but others already have done so on the forums, so it may change between now and release
On beta with a closed door alot of them just spawned inside. Ive mangedvto fill all twenty seats with noc that just came in... Gonna addd more seats to see of i can glitch anything or hire an army in minutes
@@Eradicati0nn Yeah cause before the DLC was just for aesthetic. Now you can actually make useful as a base or a place to get some R&R after your adventures in the Exiled Lands.
Its def not just you, I ran 10+ purges on beta didnt find any barkeep in cages as well, i think most ppl are just spawning them in via admin panel cos they dont want to waste time on a test version.
I have tried to play this game a dozen times, but can never get into it. The general combat is very fun. Exploring is fun, and building is fun. The story is difficult to find, especially as a solo player. I end up getting very board. Very quickly. I can never get my friends to play. And have tried several servers only to die quickly in them. Or 2, if I find a PvE one. There are random half builds everyone where on the map. This is one of those games I love, but at the same time it drives me nuts.
You might be better off finding an active unmodded unofficial server. They often have more cohesive communities, are much better on cleaning up disused structures, and generally have a better environment to play in. The story is generally quite hard to follow unless you deliberately do so. I've always likened it to Dark Souls, in that you experience the story if you delve into it, but you can go through the entire game without even thinking about it

Nah it's definitely from the purge, I've since seen a few other people mention how rare the barkeep seems. I'm guessing they'll bump up the spawn rate during the beta
No this is entirely available on consoles and official servers. This video was made on the beta client with no mods, so all thrall placements are vanilla and/or new additions to the game
Maybe someone here can help me understand something, google wasn’t much help, just started playing this year I built a base at the two oasis just north of the unnamed city it was next to the rock cliff north of the north most water pool, I moved on as I began to understand the building mechanic but didn’t want to abandon my original spot, so I wanted to wall up the pool and build a tower in the center of the pool, level one was gate high, and then ten levels that were two walls high on each level, I cheated and tried the created mode to build once I’m done I come out of created mode and no mater what floor I’m now overheating inside the house even on the lowest floor, I used the arena style, can anyone explain why this heating issue accord? I spent all night and I mean all night even in creative mode building that shit to have to tear all down, but I’d like to know what I’m doing wrong before I try again
There may be a couple things you can use to lower the temp inside. Try swapping out some walls and/or ceilings for build pieces that have heat resistance. You could change out your armor for a set with heat resistance as well. A fireplace inside and torches will actually warm the place and raise the temp. The simplest way to help adjust the temp is to make a bunch of glowing torches and place them around the base especially around the fire and get rid of regular torches. You can make them with bone and glowing essence. I would try the torches first and see if that helps.
I tried that, it actually didn't do anything 😂 though as someone else said, you can remove the barkeeper from behind the bar to "close" it and kick everyone out, I just forgot about it lmao
Got bored with this game pretty quick, even after buying a couple of DLC's. Not saying I'm never gonna pick it up again, but a lot more things like this need to happen.
A good addition to the game but I still miss the more PvE content. The community I play with love Conan but only do private servers and play as one group with no PvP and no contests. We build together. 'Adventure hub' is a beautiful expression. maybe we would get a some proper dungeons and PvE content so friends can enjouy the game once a year for more adventures.
Actually tthe prefect way, in my opinon, would be to release a new map or expand on the same map once a year. More story and PvE content for groups of friends to enjoy. That way I could enjoy Conan for a few months every year and still pay for the development cycle.
This system should have been in the game from the very beginning, it will appear eventually, but in order to get a substitute for it, we had to mess around with mods, and even it never worked well until the end. For me, Tavern and, I guess, the further development of this system, is a perfect reason to come back to the game and stay with it for years to come. Thanks for the material and positive news.
Conan is a pvp game or was lol. Survive conquer dominate not sit in a cosmetic bar lol . Funcom built a castle to raid . Funcom should ban itself for massive land claim and to many thralls. Or is the size we can build now on official servers?. About 6.000 building pieces.. try fixing all your bugs
I don't care of this new system. It's a survival game. I like pvp and when i want rp i don't need this. I don't like Age of war it's like i't's throwing my money by a window. I hope next age will be more for me.
They add buils stuff in more ans more. Im not saying this is bad but... holy sh... your bsae need to be big as f... today if you want to hold it everything you can build and everyone you tamed.. its HUGGE. And you now need two bases :D One for the purge alone. LLets see where this leads :D
