I know I mentioned it in the video, but NLandKeys is the primary vendor for this board in its current round. I felt it was important to talk about the drama that surrounds them regarding their delayed orders, some issues with the Molly60 and the Kyubi IC where people accused them of exit scamming. As I mentioned I have been monitoring their discord and had lots of convos with Aregs, of the company, and they have addressed a lot of the issues they’ve had, including refunding customers who ask and replacing parts. They are learning and navigating how to best serve their customers and actually implementing changes which I appreciate. Aregs seems like a really great guy. Although if this makes you nervous about the GB, I would suggest waiting for in stock products. I just thought it was important to mention as we looked at this board. Enjoy the build!

Yea I think aregs is pretty genuine. I wasn’t sure if it was worth mentioning when I made my video for him because I wasn’t sure if those reddit threads gained much traction, but I caught the stream for a bit today and saw people mention it. They’re refunding mirror98 buyers for the delays for half the price and still sending them out to buyers and not profiting off it now, and they’ve fixed the issues with the molly60 and I think delivered to those with issues. The term exit scam is being thrown around a bit for the wrong reasons, but if nland is exit scamming, its the worst exit scam I’ve seen lol.

As someone who bought a Molly 60 and had issues with delays and QC issues they have gone above and beyond fixing the issues and even offering a full refund. While I felt the same pressure as there did when all of this was going on I will say they seemed to handle it well. This is only one story so don’t take it as face value.

Looking at their EU seller, KeyGem, the configuration I was looking into (nothing special, with one extra plate) would cost me 308 EUR with shipping. Then another 32% of customs tax and VAT, plus whatever extra costs may occur...and it comes out to 400-450 EUR. Too much for me. In short: get fked, Europe...

Our goal is to offer a cost-effective product, and we are willing to forgo significant profits in Europe to keep the price down for customers. While the final cost with taxes and fees may be higher than ideal, we are making an effort to provide an affordable option. I hope this helps explain our approach. @@bjvink0130 Serbia. It's 20% mandatory VAT (as is tradition in Europe) plus 12% customs fees if the shipment value is over 50€. And whatever other expenses may occur if customs people are in bad mood that day... That's only one part of the problem, the other is paying way more at EU sellers for the same thing to begin with. The US price does not translate to same value in EUR or even same price but in EUR. Specifically, the TB8 setup I would pay $207 at NLandKeys would cost me 273€ at KeyGem, or $293 at local exchange rates. That's an extra $90 right off the bat, BEFORE all other expenses. I understand that's the reality of EU business but it sucks. I was looking forward to international GB for TB8 but as it is, I'll have to get something cheaper or shop elsewhere...

@@TechBear1 I understand...I don't blame you at all. It's just how things are here in Europe. I could put the blame on KeyGem and their pricing, but there aren't many EU marketplaces to begin with so I can't blame you for picking one of the big ones, nobody wants to deal with potential backlash if something goes wrong. You might, however, look into other EU alternatives like the Delta Key Co or Prototypist, they might provide better deals...
