Fast charging speed is definitely an important metric for EVs, and the need for fast charging goes up as the total range goes down, so its great to see something like the c1x charge this fast. Curious to know what the final battery warranty is. 90% range after 10 years? 85% after xxxxx charging cycles? As a c1x reservation holder I am keen to see what the final numbers are.
Again - key will be price. Any electric vehicle coming out (car, moto, etc.) will come with the expectation of fast charging. Great that C1X is one of the first, but its other limitations make it essentially an electric scooter (albeit a Honda Elite 150 or thereabouts) equivalent - not a full-on motorcycle. Albeit a much cooler scooter. So for this to be successful, the price has to reflect the C1X's in-between status between Super 73's eBikes and an entry priced motorcycle, which appears to be between $4k and $10k. The lower the better. I speak as both a reservation holder for a year and an auto (and to a lesser extent, powersport) industry veteran.
Interesting observation, when the bike is riding away at the end you can see that it has a single sided swingarm. The images shown of the C1X so far show a dual sided swingarm.
This is game changing! Great job guys! Will the bike come with enough storage space for an on-board or included 110/220 cable for “slow” charging in situations when fast charging isn't readily available?
Great question. We've looked into a ton of storage options while maintaining the sleek look and feel of our design. We'll definitely take this into account.
Is CHAdeMO final? I would prefer CCS since CHAdeMO is basically dead and being phased out. Finding those chargers will become more and more difficult over time, sort of the opposite of what the rest of the EV industry will experience
It isn't final, as mentioned in the video (might have been hidden by the progress bar at the bottom of the screen), we're simply using it to test this mule as it's across the street from our office. We couldn't agree more about the fate of CHAdeMO.
CCS though right? Sure wish Tesla’s had become the standard years ago. But not enough visionaries out there in that world to see that and make it happen. It’s USB all over again!!!
Might be the case for the US. In Europe CCS is the standard. The market has decided. Tesla chargers are outnumbered by a factor of 10 and are no longer relevant. Not even Tesla drivers use the superchargers since they are more expensive and spaced out a lot more.
@@hkad6252 false, wow! You clearly get your info from highly marketed expensive anti EV social media ads paid for by oil. Lies mean nothing to those people, they make $5B per day.
What really has me nervous with this whole EV thing, is how are states going to make up for the loss of the gasoline tax? I mean that's A LOT of money states are losing by pushing EV. I mean California alone has what...$0.40 or $0.50 a GALLON tax, how are they going to make up for that huge loss? I'm just VERY concerned about what they're going to have to do to offset that loss. Maybe when 90% of all gasoline engine vehicles are gone, they put a 50% tax on all EV products when you go to buy them or worse, charge EVERYONE an extra tax on their electric bill every month. Either way, it will NOT be good and they will make up that gas tax loss somehow.
Always a serious upgrade for fast charge. What’s the max speed of C1X? And mile range at full throttle. What people want is 100 or more miles of range at high speed controlled and lower speed. Super cruiser would be awesome at 300 miles. Looking forward to the future of e-bikes
Charge time is one thing, but battery efficiency over time is another. Tesla’s are at 10-15% efficiency costs over a ten year period and they have some of the smartest brains there.
Please post more videos of this bike with larger people on it. I would like to get a better idea of what a 6’+ 200lb person would look like on this scooter.
Thanks for the charging demo, and I’m super excited for the official launch! One thing I’d ask is please, please, please do us all a favor and don’t follow the BS subscription for features model currently being pushed by Zero and other manufacturers. I’m also really interested to see a larger rider on it, since I’m over 6’ and 200 lbs also. There’s only one real question left though, can it wheelie? ;)
Very cool! Question: Do you have any more of these Q&A's that I missed before my reservation about performance? How did you settle on ~75mph top speed? How do the tradeoffs work with range, price, etc? Can you address those in a Q&A - love this format, it's getting me excited!
And just to show my hand 😊, I feel like 75 is the bare minimum highway speed but not really comfort-inducing. 85-90 would give riders the ability to keep up with traffic at 75-80 but have some headroom to accelerate out of hazardous situations
It should be able to be modded when it comes to life by the aftermarket world but top speed I agree should be 100 so if your 80 on the freeway you have to jump out of the way you could
@@chriskurose5530 I second this. 75 is great, until you need to go up a large hill on a 70mph highway and suddenly 75 is 55 and you're about to get flattened. 85-90 is the correct target.
Ok now i understand why it is an improvement compared to the live wire. Did you guys made test to see if you were able to keep a 3.5c with larger batteries ? So virtually if you had a battery pack 3 times larger, the charging speed would be 3 times as fast and could go up to 39kwh ?
That's great can we get spec info on the bike then? So to clarify you are saying 70% in 15 min no matter the battery size? Little confused how that is possible but cool.
We wouldn't be so public about these claims if we weren't certain of our success. Spec info on the bike will be released once we're out of mule testing phase. We are pacing our releases as a lot is changing from day to day and we don't want to release information that will change the following week.
Will Harley Davidson/LIVEWIRE ⚡🔥ever help and share with the backbone of AMERICAN🇺🇸EV motorcycles and open up to other EV motorcycles or will they leave Super73 C1X⚡ and the next Super73 C1X model up to TESLA charging network?!🇺🇸💪🤙🙂🏁⚡🔥
Hey, I’m an owner of some of your projects and I was wondering if you can fix stick throttle, I gotten into a accident due to this and I hope you guys can help me. Thanks! 😅
