The Teen Titans BLACKFIRE Episodes Have Me ACTING UP... 

Starfire is way too pure for this world.🐱

Rewatching Teen Titans again with Nux has reminded me that 90s and early 00s cartoons were top tier, it's making me pick up the Blu Ray of Teen Titans.

As someone with a toxic older sister, this episode was wayyy to relatable.

Blackfire introduction reminds me of a scene when at family dinner boyfrend rizzes whole family and everyone started "playing with their hair"

To be fair, Blackfire is the reason why Starfire was sold into slavery and ended up on Earth.

I mean it has never been said that Batman ONLY taught him crime fighting.

Of course Robin is the analytical one, he was trained by Batman, mister "Worlds Greatest Detective".

Robin got the “Trust No one” vibe from the Bat.💜😈

Starfire was so cute in this episode... But Blackfire has the better dance moves.

So now that we know how Tamaraneans learn new languages, how much lip contact was needed for Blackfire to be THIS MUCH more verbose than Starfire? Cause Starfire's already been on the planet a while, Blackfire JUST got here, and she's talking LEAGUES above Starfire.

I don't know if you remember this nux, but tameranian's learn languages through lip contact and blackfire's English noticeably better than Stars, so she's probably made out with a lot more people.

I mean in terms of power scaling this episodes makes tons of sense. Robin uses weapons and timed and well placed attacks and Starfire hasn't fully matured and gotten full Tamarianian Powers yet . The other three just just flail with their super powers I think while the drones had a lil plot armor it made sense

I remembered everything about this episode except for the fact that it was as early as the second one. Also, not to sound weird, but Starfire has a REALLY good scream, like when she screams you can FEEL her terror, you almost expect it to peak the microphone because it's so realistic, that is PEAK voice acting. I am super disappointed in you for not making a crack at the blatant racial profiling the way those Centari cops just went to arrest the first Tamaranian girl they saw.

God only two episodes and Starfire is written so much better then literally 99% of all modern female superheroes. I can't believe I've seen this entire series multiple times and I'm still laughing and enjoying it, such a good show.

I remember this episode. This is where the VA of Starfire talks to herself.

Then you get to the next episode Blackfire is in where she is able to understand what the giant green slime thing she is trying to marry her sister to is saying and wondering how, then the movie came out showing that their kind can learn new languages just by deep kissing someone that knows it. Also from the same episode, Starfire is speaking to the older Tamaranian she viewed as an Uncle in their native language, but when it is just him and her in her bedroom, he suddenly is able to speak English.

The alien dudes arent villains they are antagonists. They are literally cops

You gonna do the whole series? Please Nux do the whole series, i lost a part of my soul going through VELMA with you, you and your loyal audience deserve something good and legendary like this.

Just watching the first scene made me think about how bad comic power scaling is. Like people think it's bad in DBZ, in comics you can take someone like Thor fighting a normal human with a weird weapon, and they will punch Thor and knock him on his ass, then in the next volume he will fight world breaker hulk or some shit get punched through a city and get up like nothing happened... Or stuff like this, characters that can bench like 5 tons can't stop the enemy, but a above average teenager with a stick has got it.

Aww it MAJOR sucks that I still can’t access the “green website” because I’d love to look at that full blackfire image nux used for the thumbnail (but unfortunately because of stupid dumb three mobile I unfortunately can’t and it only took 2 days for me to despise three mobile for their stupid incompetence)

Something that I absolutely *love* about Starfire in this episode and later on is that despite what Blackfire did and does Star still very much loves her. Way too many people are hung up on living perfectly crafted bubbles in which in discomfort can ever touch them, and if anything so much as causes a ripple in that bubble they cut it out immediately. Yes Blackfire is a toxic element in Starfire's life, but she's family, and worth having and trying to help be a better person, because that's just what family does. You don't give up on each other. It's perfectly fine to be reasonably angry and distant when they wrong you, but you ultimately can't abandon them unless under the extreme of extreme circumstances. And even then, if you're willing to push past even those circumstances, that *does not* make you dumb or foolish, it just shows you have a very big heart, one without spite or resentment, even when you're right to have it, it's still a better net positive to set it aside. Too many people are far too concerned about themselves to very let anything potentially harm them and worse yet getting even with everyone and everything, with zero room for compromise. And when you go through life living like that, you eventually fall in with a crowd of Yes Men, trapped in a echo chamber of false safety.

1:53 Not only is this better than Lois, but like you said earlier for Blackfire, Starfire and Raven are over powered characters done right, not just females. Like you said in the 1st episode watch too, Robin is the weakest of the titans, and the girls are probably the strongest even compared to Cyborg who is physically strong, or Beast Boy that could turn into a T-Rex with the strongest bite force of any land animal on the planet. In fact Starfire is very much like og Superman, and the 70/80s live action Superman, his weakness (ignoring super hero weaknesses of kryptonite) is in that he's trying to fit in and be human. Not only are both Starfire and Raven both doing this, but they are even handled differently with this. Raven trying to cut herself off from people, Starfire tying to connect with people, learning about humanity, while Raven knows humanity she keeps away so she doesn't hurt people. This is not only how you handle over powered characters, but is a good way to make overpowered females, it isn't about gender, it's only about gender when you make it so, when you think that's the message you think you need to convey. Women are people 1st, just as much as men, think of how you can make them people, then you figure out what they should be and identify as after.

Talk about writing. I love how Blackfire starts talking about what happened when she almost got sucked into a black hole she gets cut off after she got close to the event horizon.

You really have to wonder how incompetent these Centauri space cops are that they tracked Blackfire all the way to Earth and then they nearly got tricked into taking Starfire instead. Like, unless the Centauri people don't have families or their identification organs can't detect the blatant differences between the sisters, you have to wonder if they wouldn't have gotten back to Centauri and some officialy wouldn't have thrown them out on their asses for dragging a random bypasser back instead of the actual criminal.

I can think of another series we should have Nux watch. Beast Wars was amazing in spite of the latter ‘90s cg it was in.

I was tinkering with AI art and one of the ideas I was testing of a "what if" on instead of going to jail, that wouldn't really work (foreshadowing), that she is given the option of a "plea deal" of sort and works as a bounty hunter to pay off any damages she has made and that harmonizes of who Blackfire is as a person. They are not perfect, but I do need to refine them later. I still have a few that say "please Blackfire, step on me!"

Amanda waller was a very strong female character in justice league unlimited she talked batman into thinking cadmas is a good think and the justice league is bad. She was a side character with 4 lines in my adventures with superman doesn't make her bad she just wasn't a focus

Dude, they new exactly what they were doing when they were designing those "probes" legit just sentient vibratory with tentacles.

I think the best part about this episode is that the fight between the sisters wasn't concluded, so we can speculate that Blackfire is more powerful than Starfire from that moment. Makes the next confrontation between the two more exciting

Robin the Rizzler. I never really watched this show as a kid. I remember playing some game on the cartoon network website though. 20 years. Man, that isn't as long as I thought, despite being the majority of my life. Things really have gone downhill since then.

I am definitely going to get nostalgic for the original teen titans all i can do is just praise the show it's good

I miss when shows had good writing. If this show wasn’t so good, TT Go might be a bit more accepted. …still not a great show, but canceling something this great does not help.

I love this episode and am also an adamant RavenxBeast Boy shipper! I love your views on the characters and wholeheartedly agree that this show is legendary :) Though this episode brings me back to the time when I made a friend during a camping trip and we spent a heap of time together which is rare for me cause I'm kinda shy and antisocial haha. Anyway, my older sister started joining in and hanging out with her which I didn't really mind because I didn't hang out with my sister much but after a while I noticed my friend wanting to hang out with her more than me. I eventually just stopped coming to hang out and I don't think my sister realised that she stole my friend so I never held it against her, still was a blow to my self-esteem tho lol I just love how relatable this show is and all the unique character's abilities and personalities. Also love that despite Robin having no powers, he is just as skilled or if not more skilled than the others :)

In these cartoons, Teen Titans outclassed Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and the Justic League. The characters and stories were bad ass

Still remember the popular ship Robin and Starfire of DC comics couple. 😊

This episode really makes Starfire’s line: “leave him alone”! To Slade all the more powerful when the Titans realize Slade had been manipulating Robin, grooming him to be his apprentice. Robin was always there for her, it was her turn to be there for him. Starfire also knows what it’s like to be bullied, and manipulated, socially, emotionally, even mentally. You could tell, she was ready to unleash all her fury on Slade, because he chose to use and abuse Robin specifically.

In this episode Starfire gets NTR'd by her sister.
