I hope Ross can pull through, but if not his downfall will be great cinema. Would love him to play a shot out Noir style P.i booZer, or even one of Carter's gnarly criminal contacts who's trying to collect on a loan and gets roped into the adventure. Anything could happen, bring on the chaos 🐙.
@@Bearwiffa228 I am betting this will be Vaughn's last season. As someone who has run Masks for a group of players, I can tell you that it is virtually impossible for a character with sanity that low to survive. This campaign is BRUTAL.
@@Bearwiffa228 im the opposite and reading both to get a greater enjoyment from the streams. looking what choices joe and troy make and what stuff get skipped or expanded upon. I want to run both for my players eventually if i can ever convince them to commit to a campaign instead of one shots
@@EldritchEye64 Yeah, he is pretty much screwed which is a shame since he is a really fun character. But it is best to not get to attached to a CoC character, they don't have a long lifespan... As for it being brutal, that depends on what you compare it with. Other classics like "Horror on the orient express" for instance is at least as deadly if not far more so. CoC is a pretty brutal game, more so then even Delta Green. Most CoC characters are poor at combat and the characters that are good are usually like Vaughn and have issues with sanity instead. And the characters here with currently good sanity is making the mistake to read books, that tend to be very unhealthy for your long term sanity even if you get a couple of spells out of it. I usually run shorter things myself, like "Viral" for instance since these long campaigns are pretty hard to run while keeping the players just the right amount of scared. :)
@@Mrkti Or just luck, I had a fighting sequence in another Pen&Paper once and the player threw 14 critical hits before my eyes in a dice turret on that evening for several different throws some even consecutive. It was so insane I let the world react to it in the way that the character of the player got the reputation to be a luck bringer as he saved several of his companions in a huge battle. Later on he was renowned as the lucky charm of the mercenary group and its commander. Sometimes it is just the flow of things.
I'm glad Troy gave Noura the opportunity to pull from her lived experience of having been sloppily hit on by a bunch of shitty dudes; the look she shoots her camera at 1:39:23 is *perfect*
S1 was awesome, easily one of the best live plays I've ever seen. So excited to see Troy and the Mystery Squad back together again, especially after the epilogues of last season.
Goddammit the hospital scene. Tears in my eyes. 😂 Carter capping it off with the line of the day: "What a great..." was the cherry on top. I'm really appreciating how comfortable the cast has grown with their characters, with each other, and with the ebb and flow of the adventure since the beginning of season 1 (which I absolutely burned through like last week and which I wholeheartedly recommend). I know I keep gushing, but you guys deserve all the praise. At least now I have to pace myself. Which is bul_lshit.
I've only just an hour or two ago finished binging on Season One, after discovering RP streaming a couple of weeks past. Getting notified of Season Two premiering tonight, so I can enjoy/comment in real time is awesome! I love 'em, they remind me of some of my own favourite gaming groups!💗
I also loved a one-off, modern Call of Cthulhu they did with Seth Skorkowsky, who my bestie, he must never, ever meet by the way, where they were gonzo nincompoop journalists, just pure comedy gold and how I found out about Glass Cannon to begin with!
I'm so excited! Rob is so darn funny and Ross is just excellent with his roll play! And of course the lovely ladies who tirelessly have to round these poor Boyz out
I started watching TFC season 1 a month ago. I'm so glad that this season happened to get released so soon after I watched it. Beyond excited for this season! Y'all inspired me to buy the Masks slipcase set to run with my friends eventually Edit: the transition from Vaughn's confession to the funeral was absolutely top-notch.
Same here, I just finished and bought the books after a few episodes. My only issue is that I am not sure when I will feel confident enough (if ever) to GM it, after seeing how it SHOULD be. Troy is on one hand an insiparion but on the other hand, is a big source of insecurity for Keepers :D
I'm glad to have this series back and continuing, Finished season 1 a few days ago, just in time for the season 2 premiere. Thank you for making my fridays!!
@@peterdickinson4599 a D% and a D10 are super common for rolling 1-100 in CoC. In fact the Chaosium starter pack includes a D% and a D10, not a D100. She was fine.
So delighted to have TfC back, along with all the great and terrible choices this group will share with us. Hats off to the crew: It really is a special series.
Time For Chaos Is Back & The Cultists Are In Trouble You went away and the cultists hung around and bothered everyone every night When we wouldn't join you you Said some unintelligible things that weren't very nice Now they're back and you're gonna be in trouble (Hey la, hey la, they're really back) When you see them comin' you better cut (tongues) out on the double (Hey la, hey la, they're really back) You've been raising evil things full of goo (Hey la, hey la, they're really back) So look out now 'cause they're comin' after you (Hey la, hey la, they're really back) Hey they know what you've been tryin' And they know that people have been dyin' They've been gone for such a long time (Seriously, no more long breaks!!!) This isn't as lyrically challenging as American Pie was so this isn't as great as my first one was (see the final episode of S1 which came out 5 years ago it seems :p). Hope everyone enjoys it. I'm so hyped for the series to be back.
Dang it, Noura... ;) Now you made me go and make myself a Pisco sour too. Luckily, I had a bottle of Machu Pisco in my bar and I can see why someone would sit in a bar and drink a bunch of these.
@@nouraibrahim6452Yeah, but we saw your eyes widen when Troy said that if you keep reading you could learn to talk to the Gods too. At this point, I'm not sure there's a mythos book you would say no to. 🙂
@@attilatheyeon7292 I can see Noura's char doing the cult leader thing asking the members "Would you follow me through darkness to lead the world to salvation ... even after our death?" and then if those unlucky cultists die, see them rise again to fight Nyarlatothep. This would be frighteningly awesome.
Time for Chaos!! Looking forward to seeing the amazing performances in season two!! For the Naish - Chaosium is currently running a Humble Bundle where you can get 25 PDF Cthulhu books for really cheap!! Everyone deserves more Yog Shoggoth and old gods in their lives :) Edit: I love how Troy dusted off his old pickup lines for NPC rolepay
I'm so happy you all updated. My fiance and I listened to all 20 episodes together and were sad when it ended because we were so wrapped up in your story.
Impossible to say which is more entertaining, the campaign or the characters and npcs, so that's 20 weeks to enjoy not being able to decide, thank you!
Is there anyway we can have a one off time travel crossover episode of Get in the Trunk and Time for Chaos?!? The Mystery Squad and M-Cell? Come on! Both start with an "M"! The King in Yellow and Nyarlathotep have set this up from the beginning!
Yes. It's back, baby! Looking forward to the slow (or not so slow) march towards madness. Everyone leans so hard into it, one of my fav aspects of this table.
"I am so happy you managed to pull of this Sponsorship. I think this is one of the best thing that could happened to you, and I am sure that you will benefit greatly from this, while making all of the Call of Cthulhu fans happy along the ride. You definitely deserved this recognition, so I am not surprised at all." Dear Glass Cannon/TFC, could you please pass on this message to the Chaosium representatives and make sure they receive this? I couldn't find their contact, so I had to find another way :D
You know my group has encountered the excess sanity gain that can be utilized. It's just excess that's thrown away. So I came up with sort of a solution. I have my players keep track of their excess sanity points. These are sanity points that are specific sanity Awards. Not therapy sanity Point gains but specific sanity Rewards at the end of a scenario or designated stopping place where awards are going to be given. They keep track of these points for every 10 excess points, they may remove one point of Max sanity compromised by Mythos gain. Now it may be that we need to up it to 20 points of excess sanity. But for players that are consuming a lot of Mythos knowledge and gaining Mythos points and deducting from their Max sanity to the point that their Max sanity has caught up with their actual sanity, this is handy. It gets them one point of Maximum sanity back that can be filled with sanity Reward Points come their way. So this does not reduce the cthulum Mythos knowledge. But in terms of role-playing and character development it may be assumed that a certain level of Sanity fortitude is being gained. In the 7th edition the entire text of the Dunwich Horror is included. And in the story Professor Armitage who is the curator overseer of the miscatonic University Library that Wilbur Wheatley breaks into to steal an economicon, he reads what Wilbur Whitely was interested in Reading because they have to find a solution to the invisible monstrous brother that has broken out of the home and is now rampaging and literally ruining the countryside. And Armitage himself lies in the state of a coma for several days after spending time in this Tome of evil. The sanity shock puts him out for about a week. But when he wakes up he is shaking, aware, and fortified and ready to the task. So this gaining back of a point of Max sanity lost to Cthulhu Mythos gain can be experienced as a certain amount of fortification of the sanity even though it's a single point. But it may happen a couple of points at a time. But I think I'm going to establish a cutoff where you can never gain back more than half of the sanity loss to Cthulhu Mythos. I haven't decided yet but this might be an interesting house rule to employ. I'm definitely going to use it in all the games that I'm running at the at the moment which turns out accidentally to be three. I'm still running mascar with a tip for my home group. Another group in a nearby town have asked that I run something for them and we have jumped into two-headed serpent. And one of our key players and good friends and cannot play with us every other week and during those weekends that she can't play with the home group I am running also for the home group for the second time two-headed serpent. So to campaigns two groups effectively three different games what was I thinking!
Oh I waited for this so long. My favourite show returns! And what a great first episode. Ofc. Ross comes out swinging holy moly. ❤❤🎉 Edit: oh no Günter is from future Saarland? 😂😂
