Oh yeah, I was in dire need of a dose of psychedelic soul this Friday. Glad you guys chose the long version of this classic.I'll probably dive into the archive this weekend and pull out some other gems from this era - Temps "Ball of Confusion", Chambers Brothers "Time Has Come Today", Curtis Mayfield "Super Fly", Isaac Hayes "Shaft". Gonna be a party! Ha ha! Also, I'm pretty sure that was a harp you guys were wondering about. Great review SAD! Y'all put a little pep in my step!

There are 2 Temptations periods, the early one with David Ruffin and the later Psychedelic period with Dennis Edwards. Both iconic!!

There’s a band called Was (Not Was) that does a cover of this that is fantastic! It was updated for the 90s, but it’s still got that incredible funk and danceability! And c’mon…spend a few $$ and get RU-vid premium.

Soul, jazz, funk psychedelia. A masterpiece of composition, arrangement,vocals. That's before we look at the lyrics. Blew this guy's 19 year.old mind . And as you both said it's what's not played , the spaces that hold it all together. Great to see its power infect you the way it did me and the Dundee soul boys in 1972
