While I haven't met a furry this extreme, I've met some almost as weird. For instance, I was at my friend's house who had a big party house. So, there were all sorts of characters in and out. One of his regulars was a weird dude but decent enough. Well, on this particular day, he showed up with some of his friends. One of them was a cat girl. I shit you not, the entire time they were there, this girl was acting like a cat. I'm talking meowing, rolling around on the floor, pretending to clean herself by licking her hand and brushing her hair with it, etc. I'm not sure she said an actual human word the entire time she was there. So, in all honesty, if this random girl has no qualms about acting like a cat in a room mostly full of strangers, it wouldn't surprise me if the guy in this story was real.

We've a guy like this once in our hobby-club, where everyone just left to the other room, and when this guy then felt alone on his laptop he just packed and moved and came over where all the social commotion was. Eventually people moved back to the first room. This happened 2-3 times before people left the clubrooms entirely for that day. I was still very non-confrontational at the time, but when this happened a second time that week I would at the 2nd round stay with him in the room and then explain to him what was going on, since I couldn't bear looking at this circus anymore, as well as not believe that I was the one to speak first with him, and all these other nerds even more avoidant than me. Over the years I noticed repeatedly that while I was extremely borked in that regard, I was the exception among all the fellow nerds that was constantly trying to improve and overcome these identified weaknesses and issues. Which is far from easy, but I can attest, every time a great feeling of accomplishment afterwards, no matter how exhausting. But yes, people can smell so bad it makes you nauseous and feel under physical attack; being trapped with that in the same room is much worse than being there voluntarily. Playing a game does trap you for a time. The Greaseling in my story was truly incompentet at getting habitus formed about hygiene; but the salty ones like that in the story exist too. That's just one more negative attribute to the pile.

Correction on the assault with smell. The writer said assault with bodily fluids. A little bit different. Bodily fluids means transmission of a potentially toxic or diseased substance. Ergo, vis-a-vis, concordantly - a fart is essentially considered low grade chemical warfare. Here's one example: Section 13A-6-242 - Assault with bodily fluids(a) A person commits the crime of assault with bodily fluids if he or she knowingly causes or attempts to cause another person to come into contact with a bodily fluid unless the other person consented to the contact or the contact was necessary to provide medical care.(b) For purposes of this section, a bodily fluid is blood, saliva, seminal fluid, mucous fluid, urine, or feces.(c) Assault with bodily fluids is a Class A misdemeanor; provided, however, a violation of this section is a Class C felony if the person commits the crime of assault with bodily fluids knowing that he or she has a communicable disease.

It is a thing, if your talking to loud at a police officer in the US and some spittle gets on them even by accident that is assault. I almost got charged with assault for this against a police officer.

I've had a similar situation while playing with Skullbriar as my commander in a game of MTG. It ended up in my hand when it shouldn't of due to a mis-interpretation of the rules....I could've taken it out on the combo, knows-all-the-rules wiz player but on reflection I realized that it could've just been a genuine mistake and the very next week I had made a play that won me the 6 player pod without me realizing it. Though I should mention that my games are far more...vicious and unusual when Pandemonium comes out every second game and I got hit for 50 damage when I made it clear that Toxril is my commander.

I don't know why I find it hard to believe that the one guy was actually wearing a fedora, or that the furry actually showed up in his fur suit. Feels like over exaggerating. The ones that smelled the worst at the game store I used to go to were always the Magic players and it wasn't always B/O. These guys smelled like mildew. Then there were the guys who came in to get pokemon cards. They had an itchy quality to them, like what you'd expect from a crack head. They really didn't do themselves any favors trying to be a game store for everyone. When you try to cater to everyone the undesirable types will run everyone normal out of the place because they're banned everywhere else and they're not going to put money in the til. So, I say I used to go to that game store because it's no longer there.
