Too bad I missed this live but glad to be watching the VOD now. I'm in library school right now to begin a second career as a librarian, so this discourse is important to me. You all had some really great insights about libraries and their collections. If I find myself in the position of selecting material for a public library, this video is definitely a resource to consider.

Awesome stream idea, I was hyped to see all the love for in a sunbeam! My top 5 would be: Maus On a sunbeam Fun Home They Called us Enemy Ms Marvel A ton of cool stuff I hadn’t heard of to add to my tbr, hopefully the LA library watches this video so I can check everything out

Love this group of people and the books that came out of it. Please find more topics to debate in the same way! (One specifically aimed at books to go in a children's library would be great, or you could counteract this list with one that is specifically about superheroes!)

Great stream idea, much appreciated! My picks (hardest choice I've ever made): From Hell Bone Calvin & Hobbes Akira Batman Killing Joke The considering was so brutal that I had to leave out Love & Rockets if only for the sole reason that it maybe should be the secret sauce it is.

This was so great. Such a fun debate! Those 3.5 hours flew by. Loved everyone's picks too. It's impossible to pick 5, but if a gun was put to my head: Nausicaa, Barefoot Gen, American Born Chinese, Elfquest, Love and Rockets.

I mentioned Love & Rockets on the stream as a series I was surprised no one mentioned, but Barefoot Gen is a great pick for this! If we'd been allowed 10 options a piece it probably would have made my list but the stream would probably still be going on right now!

With all of these evergreen/library streams, I feel like 6 picks should be for the average consumer in mind - easy entry points/popular books. 2 of the picks should have historical value to the medium. and the last 2 picks should be deeper cuts/challenging books. You will get consumers who will stick with the first 6 books and seek out more like them and be happy to leave it at that. And that's awesome. Not everyone needs to be a super fan that knows all the deep cuts or wants to read books from 50+ years ago. But those who become really passionate about the hobby, will have avenues to engage more deeply with the hobby, by having the last 4 picks be a way to dig deeper.
