The Minnesota fishing opener at The Tent with Zach. Fishing, putting in the dock, campfire cooking, fish fry, nice weather and more. Graphic warning, we will be cleaning some fish.
What a blessed family. Times and memories never to be forgotten. We work thousands of hours in a lifetime, but it's the few short moments like these that will be remembered forever.
This is one of the best videos ever. I love seeing able men doing things well. My dad was good, but you guys are great. I remember Zach when he was around 14? You're a great dad, Joe, and you taught him well. He's grown into an exemplary man. Nature, in all her glory, showing you the way. Poor Chester just wants to be *with*, included in whatever you're doing. He's a great dog, friend, and companion. Your dad's 'little project' turned out great! Thanks for all the years of wonderful glimpses into an alternate reality. So different from my own.
I wonder how many of us are living our alternate lives thru you! These are fond memories of childhood vacations in the North Woods and Boundary Waters... far from my now-home. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much for all the movies I love them. Expressione The tent ones and the hunting ones in northern seclusion Love your family Joe thank you for everything
Boy have I been excited to see your 2017 Fishing Opener video - and you did great. It sure must feel amazing that last few hundred yards when you're driving to the cabin - like you're finally home again. Chester might annoy you but I like when you bring him with you. That old dock looked heavy!!! Opening morning was beautiful and you guys had a lot of action which was fun to watch. Thanks for posting this one. Looking forward to more.
I have watched your videos off and on for couple of years and find them extremely relaxing and enjoyable . Have notice how very precise you are about thing, and respectful of nature. Very nice! Continue to enjoy the tent and your beautiful countryside .
My friend every time I watch your videos I feel as if I'm sitting right there in the corner watching you fish, cook... so realistic it becomes highly addictive!... thank you for your time, effort and for inviting us all spending time with you.
amessad I feel the same way it is very addictive I can't stop watching just so beautiful and serene. I love the outdoors people just don't get enough time anymore to really appreciate it.
How wonderful you get to go away solo for just a few days to check up on the cabin and tent. Lots of work to keep up your far away setting. I do not know what keeps me coming back to the videos I so love to watch. I miss hunting, fishing where it's totally secluded. Awesome you have the talent and professional sense to do this. I hope someday to afford some land and build an off-grid lifestyle. I have friends in MI. Maybe, I hope my partner and I can visit see how you build both your parents and your tent. Just to get ideas!! God bless you all!
I can't get out and fish or hunt anymore... I'm disabled and can't walk but I do enjoy watching your videos on hunting and fishing especially when you are with Zack and the girls. Thank you!
I have never seen a man work as hard as you do. You really don't know the meaning of the word can't. Your really sort of unusual. In a good way. I know your Dad is really proud of you. It is such a beautiful place. I love seeing the sky in the lake.
Makes me want to find a place and never come back. Just moved to Wisconsin from Arizona. I am loving it. Grew up in central NY so I am familiar with the cold. Thanks for the time to make this.
Thank you for the blessed hour long video! There is so much I could comment on, but I will pick Chester. He sure loves and misses his boy! As I am sure you do too! Thanks for taking us along. I am sure it isn't easy sitting up the camera for all those shots. I never get tired of visiting your paradise.
Looks like you and Zach had a awesome week-end! Nice weather, good fish action and the new dock is installed! Thanks for taking us along! Its always enjoyable watching your videos.
Great video Joe! Enjoyed seeing that you brought Chester up with you. Chester comes alive up there. He really loves it, I know he can't replace Max but it's good for everyone. Three generations working together. Fantastic !!
great show.....what a sweet spot you have. Hope you are there for yrs....look up "Road Shower".....can make from pvc......better than water on the stove.......had one on my truck for over 18yrs, you can remove, when camping, works anywhere, with little sunshine....keep the great shows coming....
A nice, lon-n-n-ng tent video! Great shots of those wolves and beavers! I love to see wildlife, anyway! Also enjoyed footage of you with your dad and son Zach - three generations working together. Those memories will last for all of you!
Superb video Joe. One of the best ever. Glad you had some great fishing, a fitting reward for all the hard work you put in. Great to share it with Zach too. An excellent adventure.
Thanks for taking us along Joe. That was relaxing to watch, except for pulling the old dock out. I was sitting there trying to help get them up on the bank for you, lol. Keep the great videos coming.
The sound in the early evening (frogs?), oh wow, so relaxing. The ONLY thing to interrupt that is the whiz of 10lb test flying off a reel and plop, bloop of the bobber hitting the water. Excellent video. I've been binge watching them lately and can't get enough. Kudo from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (south and very EAST of the TENT!) Lots of good fishing in the Kawarthas, need to get out more this year.
My goodness that fish looked GOOD! Thank you for sharing Joe. I don't think you have any idea just how therapeutic these videos are for some of us. I really enjoy getting to come along.
A great video Joe! Thanks for taking the time to put it together for us. I enjoyed seeing the dock come back together (somewhat), and the fish fry, I always enjoy. It was a happy morning for me this morning to find out you put out and hour long video.
I love the sound of the frogs! What a great weekend fishing get away at the tent cabin! Great job, just should have vlogged you guys eating the fish. Yum
Jim Reeves is my all time favorite! Reminds me of my dad and fishing in Canada with him. Great video thank you for the work you put into all your videos.
I enjoyed watching your video. Looks like you have great family vacation site. All I could think of is what wonderful memories you are making with you father and son.
Fishing, hunting and the appreciation of the wilderness, and respecting nature is really nice to see especially having a good relationship with your family. Everyone has problems in their lives, but the bond you have with your nearest and dearest is a joy to watch (especially in the UK with miserable snow, cold winds and the fishing season about to close) many thanks for the U.K.
i don't hunt, fish or get out to the woods much but I love watching your videos. Never change the format, its perfect. I'm a fan of Dick Proenneke's videos and your vids are like a modern version of that.
fantastic get away! 3 Generations right, i mean when your dad came over!? His lil pontoon was sweeeeet! Ty so much for sharing mr. poetry in motion ~○~ calming on the mind and heart! cant wait till next time!
I need this life. A cabin beside a lake. It feels like I’m right there with you. I can almost smell your famous pork steaks and potatoes. I gain so much joy from watching all these videos because my father was shit lol.Thank you for all of the hard work Joe. I know you work your tail end off.
This was a fantastic video Joe, looks like you and Zach had a great time. I've gotta say your vids are always getting better, you have a gem of a place that you call the tent and I by far like your Channel the most ! Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video.
I have to say watching this episode brought many memories of my father and I doing stuff in the backyard messing with trees and cars and such. I found myself reliving my youth and wishing my kids had done stuff like that. Maybe when they get older. But they are to much into gaming and staying inside. I guess times have changed. I will admit that ever since I have joined Joe's channels I have been making up more excuses for my family to ne outside more. My dad passed in 2012 and I have seen myself change (for the better). Next stop is a camping trailer and some road trips are in our near future. Thanks Joe and Zack for being your selves and sharing it with community. We need more real people in this world like you all. Keep up the awesome work! Love the channels!!!
Thank you for the nice comment, The whole gaming thing has changed everything, kids stay inside, the outdoors ends up being a chore. I am not a gamer, Zach is not a gamer, some of my kids are and you can see the difference. I am glad you are taking the initiative to get them out on some future road trips, they will remember them and cherish them forever and maybe...... just maybe.... they will do the same with there little ones and the traditions will continue. Thank you again. Joe
I started watching you on February 28 2018. Oh that was yesterday. I'm from the island of Trinidad so I'm amazed with the snow and lakes. Hence why I enjoy watching your adventures. Keep them coming
I live in the middle of downtown traffic in Salt Lake City. I love to watch your videos. They help me to endure, and maintain my sanity while surrounded by asphalt, concrett, tall buildins and air pollution. I learn so many good and interesting things from your videos. I don't know but a few men. Their hands are soft and puffy. Metrosexuals. It's good to see the manly things you do, including your great cooking! It's all wonderful to me.
Just wanted to say I Love your videos. I have 4 kids 2 boys and 2 girls and would love to have a place like this to spend quality time with them. You're living my dream!!
That was one of the most enjoyable videos I have ever seen on RU-vid. I thought I would watch a few minutes at work: couldn't stop. Now I have to stay late on Friday. Was worth it. Thank you for your great content.
Wonderful Videos! I spent this past Sunday watching as many of your videos as possible and will continue as you post more. Reminds me of my Dad taking us camping as children. The simpleness (is that a word?) of doing day to day projects and chores such as sweeping the front porch or boiling water for a shower is very calming and peaceful.
Great to see you and Zach working together. I removed and built a few docks back in the day, pulled them out with a Chris Craft service boat at the marina.
I normally cannot watch similar videos for anyways near an hour, but at the end of yours I find myself wishing it was longer! I think you have found just the right format. Your tent is in such a beautiful location, it reminds me of my childhood with my Grandfather! Nice video, thx for sharing!
Thank you for the nice comment John. I am like you, if the video is long I know I will be skipping through it. People seem to like the longer videos on The Tent so I try to keep the video long and the clips short. If I get bored editing it I know others will get bored watching. Thanks again.
That was awesome. The lake wow! Beautiful in the mornings love it. Chester 💜💚🐾🐾 you have such an awesome son so soft spoken & a very hard worker. Thank for sharing such great video. Look forward to the next video.
what a great video bud! thank you for sharing and I live in upstate NY and our area is much like your camp. but your place is so secluded and private! sure do appreciate you bringing me along! btw.... congratulations on a successful opening day fishing!
Another fantastic video. Love all the fishing. You are hard working man. Reach out and love on Chester now and then. He wags his tail and just loves ya'll so much... but we don't see him getting love in return!!! Zach did pet him on the dock at one point, but that's a great dog. Thanks for sharing and keep filming please!!
Love this channel stumbled across it looking for ice fishing vids about 5 yrs ago when I was new to u tube looking for ice fishing vids been a follower ever since!
Looks like it was another successful getaway to The Tent. The new dock looks great and will be even better when you get the rest of the T installed. Like the new pontoon boat!
Man, you do it up right! Nice video. Makes me remember my families fishing camp in Glenmora La. A two week stay was normal in the Spring time. Had to heat water for a bath too. Love your channel.
Absolutely great vid Joe You had the perfect weekend for all you had to do and it all worked out just fine Glad to see Zach could join you for such a good weekend That made the work go quicker and the fishing much more fun Thanks again
You do a great job with these videos and make them so interesting. I always look forward to each and every one! Thanks so much for all the effort you put into these - it's greatly appreciated!!
My pop used to take me fishing every year in the U.P. We'd catch northern, walleye and sometimes bass. He passed 6 years ago and I haven't had the heart to fish since. Your video made me want to jump in the Jeep and head for the lake. Thanks for sharing :) Yvonne from Indiana
Just stumbled on your channel last week . I am new to being in a wheelchair full time do to wrecks 20 yrs ago the last was a drunk driver hit me . Anyway the way you film and just seeing everything gives me lots of enjoyment , thanks for your time and effort to do these videos my friend it doesn't go unnoticed.
Love the long vids, Joe. What a great spot! I gotta tell you this, when you told Alexa to play Jim Reeves, mine went off too and started playing Jim Reeves!
Love it, Joe. A great getaway place you have there. I really like Zach's pontoon boat. Being from South Alabama, I immediately started humming that song "On The Pontoon" as soon as I saw it. lol
Ah Corona, you have good taste in beer my friend LOL. Poor old Chester hasn't learned the fine art of pretending to be asleep to be aloud to stay inside longer in the morning eh? That dock looks so much better now, great work guys.
Wow, this was a great video!!! I watched it all the way to the end with very few pauses. I love the tent videos!!! This is one of my favorite RU-vid channels. Along with ur other channel. Another five months and there's dinner, lmbo!!! He was taunting you, in 5 months, he'll be hiding from you, lol. Great job Joe and Zachary!!! Tyfs God bless
Zach, it is obvious that dog loved the hell out of you. You should be very proud of that. It shows what kind of young man that you are. Jim in Yosemite, Ca.
