It was really disappointing when Aidan & Carrie kissed in the movie after all that, because Aiden was likely married to a woman who fit his mold (family oriented, non smoker lol) and probably had to deal with the emotional damage Carrie had caused Aiden. And then he still cheats on his wife by kissing her! At the same time, Carrie allegedly felt bad about hurting Natasha by her affair with Big, as she ruined her lunch and led to the Natasha broken nose down the stairs, but AGAIN causes the same hurt to Aiden’s wife all for the sake of a with an old flame. UGH!! For shame!!! I think Carrie only liked Aiden for sexual tension (when she didn’t have him or he is happy without her) and Aiden couldn’t let go of the “what if” with Carrie. 😩messy!

I don’t think if this was real life, Aiden would have taken Carrie back. The space after the break up he would’ve realized she wasn’t a good match. And her betrayal was horrible.

I've spent the last 2.5 years chasing my Mr. Big when I should have been looking for my Aidan.

Aiden seemsed like a guy who truley saw a future with Carrie, he loved the idea fo her just like she loved the idea of Big. Its so funny because what she thought she wanted from Big was all in an amazing package standing right in front of her. But she wanted the elusive "prize" of a man who could not even tell her his NAME. Aiden put himself through a lot to try and prove himself worthy of Carrie's affection, (even thought he never really needed to prove anything. ) but in the end him being an actually caring man who wanted the world for him and her was what made he back away. I still believe even with her marrying Big she was afraid of commitment. I am certain they both cheated but ignored eachothers antics because they could do whatever they want but had the saftey net of someone at home. Aiden was her fear personified- commitment, genuine love, and affectionate.

Aidan was and will forever be too good for Carrie. She deserves Big.

Aidan wanted her to change every single aspect of her personality. Like with the cabin in the woods, she clearly hated it, but he wanted her to go anyway. He was always trying to change her, turn her into this project. He pressured her to get married, and if she went through with it, I'm sure he would pressure her for a baby. For babieS, like he had with his baby mama. And in the end cheat her, like he also did to his baby mamma. Carrie was way better off. Big was an asshole, but in the end he accepted her as she was. Aidan never did and probably never will.

She was right not to push herself into it. she should have said "No" to him,no matter how pretty the ring was,but also, Aidan clearly wasn't ready.

I cried watching this happen to Aiden in the show and in this video because as a man I was once in his shoes, in love with woman who was exactly like Carrie. I wanted to give her the world, but she was so afraid of commitment because of traumas in her past relationship. Afraid that there was actually a good man that stepped in her who was willing to love her for who she was because she deserves that like everyone else but then I realized that’s not my job to prove that to her or to myself. I realized I love the idea of her being the love of my life not for what she was showing me who’s she actually was, a person who was still deeply in love with her past ways projecting onto the relationship because of the comfort and the knowing what’s to come, self sabotage to be in control unconsciously. She was still in love with her BIG. And lastly it hurts to know as a man i know most people who are like Aidan won’t walk away because that was their first love, but they got to realize your first love doesn’t that they’ll be your BEST love.

This video shows Carrie’s truth so well. She is a terrible girlfriend, she is a terrible friend (sending Aidan to help Miranda when she hurt her back) I thinks she likes the toxicity she has with Big. That’s what makes a relationship work for her, when how many times did Big let her down. Then when they are married she gets bored (another story). I do feel Aiden was a kind person and very loving to Carrie however I feel like he made some messed up decisions regarding Carrie. He would allow her to be so awful like letting Big call and her, their home ! And get advice from Carrie. His behavior allowed Carrie to be awful and he manipulated her with that. Maybe Carrie used Aiden’s toxic drama attraction like Big was to Carrie. Also, just wanted to say one thing about knowing Big’s real name. Not sure if I missed something, I might have wrongly picked up on that Carrie didn’t know Big’s real name until the end of show. It was the audience that didn’t know his real first name, and as a goodbye gift we got to see it on her phone. What ofc it would have been saved as “Big”. Loved how well you put this together! Carrie did Aiden very dirty, he was so loyal and good to her. She used him and strung him along the second time when he wanted marriage, and she still had feelings for Big the whole time from the first and second relationship her and Aiden had when together. Her and Big were just truly meant for each other, and I am glad that Aiden found a good wife and had kids.

Aidan - Carrie relationship irritated me. They're so incompatible. Carrie likes $$$, glitzy lifestyle. Big can give her all that and is into all that too. Aidan is...kind of like one of those American male 'catalogue,' he's got some ruggedness, he does woodworking/carpentry. I heard they pushed these two together in the sequel show and Aidan was now as 'wealthy' I guess, now that he sold his company to some big furniture company. The two shouldn't be together.

It always bothered me when Carrie threw Aidan’s plant down into that dusty bin. With such glee. “Toodelooo!! Fu*k-a-youu!” Just. Why? And we as the audience were supposed to be like oh you go!! Nope.

You don't just switch off your emotions when you love someone. Aidan being forgiving shouldn't be looked at as a flaw lol rather another thing that makes him so much better than Carrie. This is the couple analysis equivalent to victim blaming.

I stand by saying Carrie was abusive to Aidan, and she also has been abusive to other partners and her friends, in multiple circumstances. She's the epitome of this...white feminism(?), does not fight for what doesn't service her, and is happy with anti-feminist stereotypes if it means she gets to act badly with no consequences. It frightens me how downplayed her behavior was in regards to physical abuse the most. Holding people from exiting a room, or even physical assault has been made to feel "normal" by this show's creators, and it's scary what that will have done to a generation growing up with it.

I'm not saying that she was perfect in the relationship and I agree with everything that's being said. However, during their fight, Aidan forces Carrie to throw away her clothes, and she complies. I believe he had no right to dictate what she should do in that situation. His defense of his dog destroying her shoes by saying, "What do you want, it's just a dog," is also problematic. He further criticizes Carrie for having her belongings around the apartment, despite the fact that she makes space for his things. After proposing, Aidan pushes her to marry him, even though he had agreed to wait just a week prior. I'm unsure if Carrie would have eventually married him, but I think pressuring her was not right, especially since they had just started living together. It's understandable to take time. While I agree that Carrie may not have loved him as much, it's essential to recognize that Aidan also played a part in the situation. Ultimately, both had a role in the dysfunction of their relationship.
