Finally this incredible talent gets the recognition he has deserved for 44 years - he had it all - unbelievable rythem player, soloist, singer - and gone way too soon. he let us look deep into his soul with every note that came out of him. So there must be something between heaven and earth if we are still talking about him here after 44 years and keeping his memories alive. matter passes but love remains and energy remains - and this man was pure energy and passion. RIP Big T your the Man

What they mean is we've always talked about it but no one knew where the guitars was. Its rad Terry is finally being recognized for the legend he is. He was not talked about and underrated for to many years while lesser players by magnitudes were talked up like they were gods. When Hendrix calls you the "best guitarist in the universe" thats saying something.

This is so good. I’d waiting years to see Michelle’s doco down here in Australia. I know we’re a long way away but Terry’s soul and Chicago still has a huge impact on my life. Every year they are no1 on my playlist. I’m always happy playing their music ❤

When I was working for Lee Michaels back in the late '60's, we played with CTA quite a few times. Terry blew my mind every night. It's hard to believe, but the stuff you never got to hear was the best stuff of all. In this clip the replica guitar sounds fantastic. He made all the right changes. I'd love to get my hands on one.

Congrats Michelle and the Kath family. Michelle, your documentary about your Pop brought your father's legend back to life and let the world know your father's story. What an amazing film for Terry Kath and Chicago fans. He would have been so proud of you. Thank you Fender for recognizing Terry as well. To be gone for 44 years and have a custom shop guitar built in your name is an incredible recognition. This guitar will be sold out in record time I'm sure!

Saw the documentary a few months ago, very touching story. Super happy they managed to find Terry's guitar. Wasn't a super big Chicago fan, but the documentary changed my mind

Certainly nice to see that above all else Terry is being recognized here for the true icon that he was and still is! Thanks to his daughter for her persistence and drive. From the documentary and now this project, you can see she is a leader, just the same as her Father. I hope Fender built this with their ears as much as their hands, the original has very unique sound combinations that are not going to be duplicated with any old pickups or standard wiring. Can't wait to see more sound demo's to see how it compares.

I don’t know how I came across the name Terry Katherine the other day on RU-vid, not being a Chicago fan but something made me look them up and I discovered what I think is the #1 best guitarist no one’s ever heard of (no, not you, Rory!) and I’m fascinated. Can’t wait to watch the movie his daughter made!

Terry Kath was truly the BEST guitar 🎸 player that most younger generations don't know. Terry's daughter Michelle has such striking resemblance to her dad, albeit, she's feminine gooorgeous! I love the documentary she made titled: "The Terry Kath Experience." I enjoyed it very much, with a bit of nostalgia, and teary eyes.

Fender consistently amazes me with these types of guitars. And what do they top out at? 5,000? A fancy Gibson is 2,500, and it doesn’t have half the story these Fenders do. The attention to detail is simply astounding! I am not a rich man, so I will probably never be able to purchase a guitar like this. But they are a thing of beauty.

I was so happy to see her find that Telecaster. I was shocked to see that blonde Strat with a gold anodized pickguard in the beat up tweed case. The 0003 serial number made my jaw drop. I’d love to see more on that.

It’s awesome that she found this guitar. Upon finding it she also found a 54 strat #0003 that is white with a gold anodized guard. I’m curious to know if it is related to the David Gilmour #0001 strat since they were both white/gold guard and two digits apart. I know that Fender serials were not used in order of production but maybe they sought out the first few numbers and built them for namm or a trade show? Then again #0002 is a sunburst so I’m probably really reaching here.

I have been almost getting to the point where I was thinking that no one was going to ever get to know the genius of The late Terry Karh other than the real fans and musicians. I immediately thought of the fact that I will never be able to own one is a bummer and unfortunately the only people for the most part who will own them will either be collectors or hopefully 🙏🏼 PLAYING MUSICIANS THAT WILL GET IT OUT AND PLAY IT WITH ALL THE FIRE AND INTENSITY AS TERRY. I AM SERIOUSLY NOT A EDUCATED FAN BUT UNTIL JUST A FEW YEARS AGO I HAD A CHANCE TO LISTEN TO THE GUITAR WORK ON THOSE PHENOMENAL SONGS AND ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC ROCK MUSIC I GREW UP ON. I NEVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT CHICAGO AND GUITAR WIZARDRY IN THE SAME BREATH BUT I AM SO GLAD I FINALLY DID. OBVIOUSLY THE NIGHT LISTENED TO THE REMAINING ORIGINAL MEMBERS PERFORM AT THE HOF INDUCTION AND THE FACT THAT THEY WERE NOT ALREADY IN THERE AND I WAS SHOCKED BUT SO PROUD TO BE AN OLD ROCK AND ROLLER WHEN THEY BLOWED THE DOORS OFF THE PLACE AND I WAS JUST SO SORRY THAT THE MAN HIMSELF WAS NOT THERE AND THAT THE WHOLE WORLD WAS MISSING OUT ON ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT GUITAR PLAYERS OF ALL TIME. If fender could keep the dream guitars under $1000 & all the U.S. made guitars around $500 then Fender would damn near put Gibson into eternal bankruptcy & make a lot of happy young people while they are growing up to be able to buy a quality instrument. You would think this would make more business sense. The lower the price + the higher the quality = more total revenue

Don’t get me wrong I love fender guitars the Stratocaster is my all-time favorite body shape but there’s no way any normal person is going to own one of these I know he doesn’t want them to become wall hangers but that’s exactly what they’re going to be because only rich people and Rockstars can afford them and you know damn well no one is going to take them out on tour or play them anywhere they’re going to sit somewhere and collect dust for a long time before anybody buys one so sad

Isn't the price tag like 20,000? This is a cool tribute, but what common guitar player could ever own one of these? These American guitar companies need to get real a little bit. Unfortunately, I don't think Michelle gets the concept that this entire line of guitars is a collectible. Nobody is buying this guitar to use as an everyday player. Also Fender: get someone who can play a Chicago riff to demo this thing! Like, who is this guy playing folk shit on a Terry Kath replica?!?! You wanna see what a TK replica can really do? There are guys on youtube who have made their own replicas and actually riff Chicago on it. Go check those out.

Mine is on order for 3Q the store tells me. Weird that they guy playing in the background was playing Country Music. Teles are generally well-accepted in Country and Country-Rock (see the Eagles) but not this tele. And certainly not Terry Kath who was Blues, Rock and harder Rock and maybe a tiny bit of Pop. Does anyone know what guitar he used for Jenny, I think Chicago VI. The opening is fantastic. Peace y’all.
