I was here as a german soldier in 1985 and this steakhouse is definitely one of my best positive memories. Never before and never after have I had steaks as good as these. Nice to see that things like that still exist
I live in El Paso, TX. We used to come to Cattlemens only for special occasions a few times a year. Now we try to come at least once a month. I've been to a few different steak houses like Great American, West Texas chophouse, coralitos, Texas roadhouse, logas, outback, gallaghers steakhouse in las vegas, a few others in Mexico, and some others that I probably forgot but I can tell you that even though cattlemens doesn't have dry aged meat it is still the best steak I have ever tried! I always go for the cowboy medium rare with a side of fries and order of grilled jalapeños. 😍 I STRONGLY recommend trying cattlemens if your just passing by or even if you're from a different state or country. YOU WON'T be disappointed!!!
Just ate there a month ago. I lived in El Paso for 4 years and ate there once every couple of months. It's not cheap but well worth it. Decent drive from El Paso but worth it. The cole slaw is my favorite, it has pineapple in it and gives it a very unique and great taste. Medium rare ribeye is the way to go for me. Put some cheese, sour cream and bacon on that baked potato too.
I was there this past December. First time there as I am from NY and was in El Paso for work. It’s in the middle of nowhere, but the food is awesome. I had the 10 oz. filet.
From San Francisco CA Office, We need to bring the team to this restaurant next time we are in El Paso. Sir. I was not aware this place existed in Fabens. We will certainly have to visit for a dinner outing. Love a good steak!
I haven't eaten there in years, it's a long long way from home. But I can promise if I'm within 100 miles of the place I'll be there for my steak. It really is an amazing place with amazing food.
My dad built the event center, and the rotunda Feed silo bar as well, he was the maintenance man for about 8 years him and Bill get along perfectly. He’s even in the interview the guy with the big mustache lol
This steak house is awesome! I have been there a few times as I have family who reside in El Paso and we always get a order of their beef ribs along with our steaks. Delicious!
Best steak in West Texas! I've been there many times. Terry Trautman worked there with his mama Rebecca. I miss my West Texas home and Cattleman's. I would settle my horse there for a weekend, then ride a ways towards the cliffs. I miss those days. Good to see that ya'll haven't changed. Long live Cattleman's.
It’s an amazing restaurant because the Steaks are amazing, coleslaw is the best & the beans are delicious! You can eat dinner, enjoy the petting zoo either before or after dinner & take a hayride tour in the desert. Everyone should go at least once, you won’t regret it! I ❤️ Cattleman’s Steakhouse!
one of the more famous movies filmed there was courage under fire. i remember being a teen and thinking it was a trip to hear about denzel washington, lou diamond phillips and meg ryan sightings all over el paso. matt damon was in that movie too, only he wasn't famous yet. lol in fact, if you freeze at 0:31, you'll see a helicopter just crashed in the lower right center of the screen. that's the crashed heli they used in the movie. indian cliffs still holds horse and hay rides for both riders and non-riders through the cliffs, and the chopter is one of the places they take you too. great selfie op for the kids, hehe
Everytime I've been there during my 3 years living in Las Cruces New Mexico I say I'm getting the rib eye but I end up getting that HUGE porterhouse. I still haven't got the rib eye but if and when I get back down there...!!! It's on the bucket list!
@@lrodriguez9315 I have never made it to Cattleman's. They don't open until 5 pm so when I showed up for lunch they were closed! One day I will make it for dinner!
@@tawnya0627 you wont be disappointed its a nice treat let me know what you think about it . my back neighbor works their let me know if you have any questions i can ask him.
I haven't been there in 30 yrs but I still remember it fondly. They put little pieces of pineapple in the Cole slaw that makes it explode in your mouth.
Years ago, my wife's boss invited some workers to Cattleman's and my son and I tagged along. One lady co-worker said she wasn't in the mood for beef so she told the waitress, "Let me have the Mongoloid Chicken." My son and I both looked at each other as if to say, "Did she really say that??" and burst out laughing. Everyone in the place was looking at us wondering what we were laughing so hard at. She looked at us and sheepishly said, "Heh heh, I meant Mongolian Chicken, didn't I?"
I can't believe he didn't say anything about the pineapple coleslaw. That is the only place I've had it and it's good. Also west veiwing glass wall room . Where every evening at sunset they throw the scraps in to the cliff/bluff bottom and a good 100 coyotes come rushing in and fight over the scraps. It's amazing to see. The cowboy 32 oz porter house steak is favorite .
Long story, but Jack Nunn who started The Great American Land and Cattle Company and Great American Steakburger in El Paso started out at Cattleman's. They serve the pineapple cole slaw there too. Probably same seasoning too. You can buy their seasoning from either the store or from Claude's Sauces online. Jack and wife Peggy has since passed away, don't know the new owners. Jack's brother Teako Nunn and wife Josie own Sparky's in Hatch, NM.
Been here several times as I’m at ft, bliss . If you want a specific cut or oz you have to call think day before so butcher can cut it. Very good food, parking is always bad especially on the weekends. It’s way off the road. Right off the exit you take a road that you think “am I going the right way”lol good place to eat , a little expensive but worth it.
We have so many Texans in our small high desert town (mainly A&M) due to our industry but it sucks cause we don’t have a great Texas BBQ or Steak joint :( I need that ribeye and brisket Texas style!
oh boy, now you've done it... best damm steakhouse IN THE COUNTRY!!!! i don't even care, fight me. plus..... where else can you go where there peacocks in the parking lot? ...and who walk right by your window randomly while you eat? lol
If you don't stop/visit this amazing staple in texas then you ain't gettin the full/ true texas experience my friend, yes pricey ribeyelike 38.60 but the sides are free and unlimited VERY, VERY tasty sides to boost an experience YOU DON'T WANT TO PASS UP... A BUCKET LIST KINDA THING BELIEVE ME!!
Y'all need to hit The Oscar Store in Oscar & Green's Sausage House in Zabcikville. While in Zavcikville, also visit Sefcik Hall. Jody's in Temple is a must, too.
