This week we head to Waco to taste a tasty beverage that Texans have been sipping on for well over 100 years. You see it all started in a pharmacy here and it's grown into a worldwide phenomena. That's why we thought sitting and taking a sip at the Dr Pepper Museum would well be worth a stop on the Texas Bucket List.

I'm from Galveston Texas and the Dr Pepper bottling building was on 31st which I walked by every day going back and forth to school. This would have been in the later 60's. Then the house my parents bought in the early 70's was owned by an elderly lady in her 90's who's last name was Redmond. Anyway we knew her from back in the early 60's and she always had nothing but Dr Pepper to serve as a drink. She said the reason was is that she had been privileged to get to taste test some of the early mixes before it was what we know now. Pretty cool huh?

I myself am a Big Red man. Another great Texas beverage. If I don't drink BR it's a DP for sure. I thank the Lord everyday for putting my ancestors in Texas and that they never left. Texas is the Best!

Yo holdup just a minute. Do you think the animatronic Charles Alderton was an inspiration for the character of Festus in the videogame Fallout: New Vegas? In that game, there is a soda company called Sunset Sarsaparilla. In one of the company's bottling centers, there is a visitors center. (so, people can visit and learn the history). There is a animatronic character called Festus that gives people that history lesson. What if that was inspired by this Doctor Pepper Museum??

Im from texas, Dr pepper has been my favorite since i was a wee lad .Ive never been here & i feel like im betraying DP. I bet the soda tastes 10x better from the source

Coke made Mr. Pibb to compete with Dr. Pepper. I worked at movie theaters all through the 90s and some of the 2010s here in Texas. The movie theaters have contracts with coke that they supply machines and NO Dr. Pepper allowed. Every time I told a customer we only had pibb they then asked for coke instead. Coke got what they wanted in the end.

drives me crazy when I stop by a gas station, 7/11, liquor store, corner market and they DON'T CARRY DR. PEPPER!!! I'd say only half of em do in SoCal.
