This is an example of a distinctly New Mexican food influence trickling and merging into the aleady rich western Southern borderlands culture of the West Texas High Southern Plains.
@@Motodoggo_ the food is great, but having it readily available just has it lose its luster over time (green chili willys is also about 5 minutes from my house)...With that said, when I am craving chicken fry, this is where I go.
Ate here earlier this evening. The place was packed. The green chili chicken fried steak was great. The only issue was watered down soft drinks. I like the decorations too. There’s a painting of a boarder collie on the east wall that I want to steal.
I work at a different restaurant in this town, and the owners of green chili willies regularly come in to eat right before close and are extremely needy, stay well past close, and never tip more than 15%.
As a Former Rest Owner, I see so many food Violations, picking up food off a fkn rack, and not even properly covering refrigerated food, someone is bound to get sick out of there...
