God bless my brothers and sisters in my hometown of Del Rio, it's all about family and doing the right thing when no one is looking, pretty much the definition of integrity and that's what this family is all about, that's how they were raised.... You can pretty much hands down forget every fast food joint you've ever gone to once you go there , home cooking from Mama's ((Meme's)) honest kitchen , I love my little town and I'm so glad I retired here from living all over the United States and traveling the world, ( retired Air Force ) , God has definitely been good to me by placing me in this loving community, been here now for 15 years. And will never leave.
My mom worked at Meme's when she was in high school and met my father there. I think there were two locations back then. One on Canal street I think. Still good food, and my mom made the best hamburgers at home too
I'm a fried chicken nut and Ive eaten fried chicken from all over the country. The best fried chicken I've ever ate was at Johnny Ozarks in Kilgore, Texas. If I ever get out to West Texas, I'm gonna give Meme's a try.
My Mexican buddy use to get meat from Del Rio, a Mexican woman he bragged on until he was told she wasn't selling beef, pork, or chicken. One of our best shared laughs before he died of Covid a couple months back. You can make new friends but you can't make old friends. Who let the dogs out?
I have been around del rio but never thought of stopping in to try what i see delicious food. Next visit i make I'll surely stop by. I love del rio beautiful town and friendly people. 💝😘💝😘💝😘💝😘💝😘💝
Born & raised in Del Rio, Grew up in San Felipe Area after Flood 98 been living in NC, miss home, Meme's , Salas it was a hard transition for me.. it's very different here. Like another country 🤦🏻♀️
Amen, I live here also and truly am blessed to be in such a loving family oriented community, patriotic and God-fearing. And some of the best food in the United States, made with honest loving hands.
To bad they weren't humble enough to put the ladies that actually cook the chicken and do all the hard work. But all Del Rio sees them cudos to the ladies.
Went there once, I called in an order, and I went 30 minutes later, they still took another 30 minutes, not because they were busy, but because they're service sucks.
Am from Illinois and came to see family, and decided to try their chicken because i saw them on youtube, so I just tried their chicken and it's not all that, like they say. And the fries are soggy. And to top it off their rude, they put someone at the order window who doesn't speak good English. I told her I was there to pick up my order she goes to the cooks and comes back and leaves me standing there and waits on the other person without even saying it will be a minute to me!!
