💣💣💣 SQUAD! Currently, I have Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes rated as the top QB in this year's draft class. I've watched a lot of film on Trubisky, Kizer, Watson, etc. yet Mahomes still stands out. Of course, he isn't the perfect prospect. Not every QB is as highly touted as Andrew Luck was. Where do you think he gets drafted?

I cant believe some critics are saying that the Cheifs had a bad pick. Patrick Mahomes is in a perfect scenario right now. You got a QB guru in Andy Reid, Alex Smith is a perfect mentor for someone that's never played under center before, and the Chiefs have one of best roster in the NFL right now. Giving a first round pick for next year doesnt mean much when your team is already stacked.

Mahomes was my favorite QB out of this draft class. He's got a lot of foot work, technique, accuracy issues to work on but he's got all the arm talent in the world. Put him under a great coach like Andy Reid and let him watch behind Alex Smith for a while and this kid could be dangerous. Coming from a Raider fan, it's going to be fun watching this kid develop.

Patrick Mahomes was a gunslinger in college and scored alot of touchdowns but his team didn't win many games because they're defense was always give up more touchdowns than any team in the Big 12.

Seeing him make his first starts in LBK as an undergrad my Junior year I have to say it made my time at Tech all the more special. Shame our defense never gave him anything to work with--dude deserved a chance to compete for a Heisman no doubt. It's only fitting the Texans should select him to finally give him a defense to allow him to compete nationally. Wreck'em PMII thanks for the memories! Now get to Houston so I can get my first NFL Jersey!

Wanted Him to be a Giant but The cheifs honestly are his best fit not because of scheme or needs but because of the coach Andy Reid. Andy Reid has coached Brett farve who went on to help Aarron rodgers the same way, He coached Donovan Mcnabb then coached up an aging Mick Vick back to good ole days. then went on to coach Alex smith who look like another 49ers bust and made him a playoff caliber QB.Case closed

john e I'm with you. He does bring a lot of the same things to the table as Rogers but Rogers is special in between his ears. Maybe Mahomes is too but that'd be a lot to expect. I think he'll go late first to KC or NO and hopefully have a couple seasons to sit and learn. His mechanics and footwork definitely need some work but he has everything else physically already....

JustBombsProductions I love this pick, I'm an Alex smith fan and if he and Reid coach this kid up, who's a football minded kid, he can play on the fly, and some of the throws he has made are just remarkable! He flicks his wrist and the ball will go 40 yards while on the run to the left! It's impressively fast as well(his release) I got hi hopes here but right now I am a mahomie!

Not going to lie and even say I saw this coming. It's kinda crazy to because It's like a Team you would make on Madden. Perfect Gunslinger, Super Speedy Receivers who can get down the field fast, A Big Physical Tight End who blocks and runs perfect routes. He literally could not have landed on a better team and atmosphere.

Well you have to keep in mind these are just highlights meaning his negatives weren’t shown. Obviously in hindsight people think he should’ve been the first QB taken but at the time he was seen as a very raw prospect who would be considered a project.

He throws off his back foot a lot but I still didn't see many, if any at all, under-thrown passes, and that's a real testament to his arm strength. Reminds me of Favre a little bit just the way he's fearless and gives his receivers chances to make a play. Not saying he is, but he could very well end up being the best QB in this draft class and I would not mind if my Bills grabbed him at any point in the draft, even with their #10 overall pick.

He's a bigger stronger Johnny Manziel. They play similarly in the same offense under the same coach. Now whether the Manziel comparison is a good or bad thing, well that's your opinion. But at least PM doesn't carry the same baggage Manziel had.

slsrifle I actually think Manziel is a decent comp, talent was never the problem for Manziel, as a Browns fan I watched all the games he started and he looked like he could be a good QB, its just the off field problems, Mahomes and him have a similar play style, they both are great outside the pocket

He's got the best passing efficiency of any QB and his field vision is top 10 with 3.2 TD's per INT beating out Kizer, Watson, and Trubisky. With a solid O-line and some sticky fingered receivers that can catch in traffic, he can only get better.

JP Mortenson I agree with you, he can be a gamble. His play in college was real similar to Manziel. Loves running around the field and can sling it. My biggest concern is his ability to sit in the pocket as a pure passer.

He looks good here, but incredibly raw and unpolished. Certainly doesnt look like he would become the most talented QB ever to play. What Alex Smith, Andy Reid, and Mike Kafka have done with this kid is nothing short of awe-inspiring. His transformation even just from college to second yesr in the NFL has gotta be one of the all time greatest college to league transitions ever, since other similarly grwat young players were usually just as great (and renowned for it) before they even got to the league. Im absolutely astounded

I am crossing my finguers for my NY jets to draft this guy at 6. I heard the Favre comparasion after the combine and it really makes a lot of sense, Mahomes is the ultimate gunslinguer, just like Favre was. I have been researching him for a while and to me he is the 2nd best QB after Watson.

James Harden & Westbrook #Goats He will not be around in the 2nd round. Also drafting him in the 1st round also allows for the team to have access to a 5th year option on him, which is really good

osu5inarow Haha funny thing is, Everybody hates Cleveland. Even Cleveland fans hate Cleveland. Hes not going to get paid there so what would be the point? Superbowls? Championships? Ha!
