So the “Ogdoadic” monsters are based around the Egyptian Ogdoad (gods born of the primordial waters that have a duality motif going for them)… I have an idea for a pair of cards that would permanently alter their characteristics a smidge: _Ogdoadic Sol_ Quick-Play Spell _Shuffle 1 LIGHT Reptile monster from your hand, field or GY into your deck, then add 1 DARK Reptile monster from your deck or GY to your Hand. The first time this effect of “Ogdoadic Surf” resolves, the following effects are applied for the rest of the duel._ _⚪️”Ogdoadic” monsters you possess are always also treated as Water-Attribute._ _⚪️The DEF of all ”Ogdoadic” monsters becomes 200 while they are in your GY._ _Ogdoadic Surf_ Quick-Play Spell _Shuffle 1 DARK Reptile monster from your hand, field or GY into your deck, then add 1 LIGHT Reptile monster from your deck or GY to your Hand. The first time this effect of “Ogdoadic Sol” resolves, the following effects are applied for the rest of the duel._ _⚪️”Ogdoadic” monsters you possess are always also treated as Water-Attribute._ _⚪️During the draw phase of each turn, you can increase or decrease the levels of all “Ogdoadic” monster from your hand, field and/or GY by 1 for the rest of the turn._ Basically the idea is that, since these cards have a LIGHT/DARK duality to them already, and notions of FIRE and WATER are already present, these cards could make them FIRE and WATER respectively, and confer FIRE/WATER related effects you can sue with that. The Sol effects make “Ogdoadic” monsters you own FIRE permanently AND make universally them rekindling targets (AND since they’re already Reptile monsters, they already have Snake Rain to their name). Meanwhile Surf makes the WATER, and is designed to play well with “Umi” cards like A Legendary Ocean or Magellanica, the Deep Sea City that play around with WATER monster levels (for any manner of Extra Deck plays, or maybe if you just want to Normal summon one of the level 8 ones with 1 less tribute if you’re using legendary ocean, or whatever else you can come up with…)
