@@drewluczynski9609The end result of pregnancy is much different to the end result of Covid, which is basically life going exactly the way it was beforehand.
One thing that kind of surprised me about this episode was how mature Ash was about the Caterpie/Misty situation. He tells Misty that Caterpie has feelings too, and is always trying to console Caterpie when Misty hurts its feelings. He showed a level of emotional maturity in this episode that I wouldn't expect from any 10-year-old, and especially not one as generally hot-headed as early Ash Ketchum.
My personal theory on fossil Pokémon is that they had distant typing when they were alive, but the process of reviving them is Imperator, so they're all sick as partial rock types.
Caterpie and Pikachu's conversation under the moon is the scene that got its hooks in me as a kid. As a young undiagnosed autistic kid, it might have been solely responsible for Pokémon being my first hyperfixation. Whenever I let my mind wonder and drift into daydreams, I'd imagine what living in the anime's world would've been like. But every so often, I'd just replay that scene in my head. Goes to show ya, art that moves you can exist in any medium.
I have three nitpicks for this analysis. 1) The reason Misty was following Ash was actually explained by the writers. When she fished him up in the river, she was wandering aimlessly. She had no idea what she wanted to do on her journey. Meeting Ash and seeing him in action was the call to arms she needed, and she actually did want to go with him for the sake of it. She was just too shy to approach. Her yelling about the bike, while true, was a way to cover up her insecurity. She didn't want to admit that she wanted to be his friend. And I find that adorable. 2) There's a difference between phobias, and just being mean. Pokemon are just as smart as humans. Like imagine in the real world, somebody was traumatized by a person of a certain race or orientation. And that made them hate every single person of that group. Caterpie was shown to take emotional damage every time she called him gross or ugly or she forced him back. She's treating him poorly because of something he can't control. Something he was born with. Something that encapsulated his whole identity just by the nature of his existence. When you frame it like that, Misty comes out pretty poor because of it. And this isn't me bashing her character - I just think the show should have delved more into exploring her and Brock's flaws. They both were lacking in the character arc department. 3) *How dare you call Monsters University mediocre*
@@OfficialSuede We'll have to disagree there then, m8. I enjoyed the film from start to finish. The Scare Games were fun, the characters were fun, the jokes landed, and the antagonist was a refreshing change of pace from the Disney twist villain.
Yeah this was back when James and Meowth were voiced by Ted Lewis and Nathan Price. It's always weird hearing it because I'm so used to Eric Stuart, Maddie Blaustein and James Carter Cathcart voicing the teo
is episodes like this why the early seasons of the anime are still highly beloved, they really were willing to take their audience seriously & just tell things like they are
I'm working on uploading all of them individually! In the meantime, the recap is still part of the massive marathon video you can currently access without a membership. Just search "marathon" 👍
I've always thought there was more to Misty's reason for tagging along with Ash than just her bike. You can tell there is because when Ash asks her why she's following him and Pikachu, she gives it some thought before answering "my bike." Like she was trying to come up with an excuse instead of saying the real reason. In the Farfetch'd episode when Misty tells them about the Farfetch'd she saw, they don't believe her, to which she replies "But I'm telling the truth this time!" And Ash understandably asks "THIS time?" Makes you wonder what else she was lying about.....
Hey, health comes first so no worries. I am REALLY looking forward to your next Violet hour-by-hour episode though. Never before in my life have I been THIS invested in a videogame playthrough/review, especially one I've already watched other playthroughs of already.
Damnable plague, getting in the way of quality videos! Being a Pokemon Blue player back when Caterpie was the first of my Pokemon to evolve too. Took my lil' buddy all the way to the League.
Maybe I’m misremembering but I feel like I remember in the original suede journey you saying you haven’t watched the anime beyond the first one or two seasons
I do hear that, but I feel the emotion in the delivery doesn't lend itself to *that* face while Veronica Taylor's does 😆 I admit I am going purely from a Gaijin perspective though, if it makes sense in Japan that just means it's excellent localization!
About Kabutops, my headcanon for fossil pokemon is that they weren't rock types back in their original time but gained the rock typing upon being fossilized
Having taken a long hiatus from TGWG content and the last thing i saw you do was your pokemon 4ever review .It's super nice coming back to your style of reviews. And the png-tuber style is really good!!
Misty was so harsh bit she made a good point. And to his credit Ash took the lesson to heart (after several episodes). I just wish Misty went through some development herself during her journey with Ash beside getting a togspi
Tinkaton is not garbage it is actually a tricky Pokemon to battle against from a type standpoint point because most of the potential type matchups are counted by its dual typing it rendering most super effective moves to just effective. The counter I have found is fire. Fire is super effective against steel and fairy don’t have any particular resistance to it. Know I won’t get into stats as that is so situational if it has its best stats that is good enough.😅 I am very much a so long as you are your best self kind of trainer. This being the first generation for it the move pool isn’t everything one could wish but that is just how it is first time out.
I assume u said the TR change in BW doesn’t count because it was a response to fans saying their tired of TR being goofy Although people did miss it and now they’re tired of it again People can’t make up their minds
What excuse could you possibly have to- [Sees test results] Good lord… you’re pregnant!!! But, in all seriousness, glad to see you’re feeling better, Suede.
Honestly if I were you I’d try restructuring again and instead of doing individual episode videos, try long form ranking videos for each season of Pokemon kinda like what LS Mark does. Do like “every episode of indigo league reviewed” and just talk about each episode in a few mins, that way it won’t take you years to catch up to where you initially were. Just an idea but I think you would have better luck going in that direction.
Sorry, but if it won't be too much trouble, is there a way you could downscale some of your older pokémon journeys episodes on Google drive? Because as they are now, each video was like 2gb to download/stream, and where I am, it isn't financially sustainable.
Hey Suede, I don't know why anyone would think that was a pregnancy. The test results confirm you definitely have breast cancer. Kidding! I wish you a speedy recovery Suede.
Watch as Pokémon actually start for releasing seeing capes before hell divers does with that says congratulations on being a new dad! Also how many of us would love to see a gay pride pokey ball I would I would totally dig that let's go sorry I've been watching a lot of videos talking about who who releasing certain things and it's just so much more fun but congratulations Suede [also I might be tritely slightly trying to boost your algorithm a little bit here with my comment to see maybe I could at least if I can't actually give money force more money into your roster]
Before I saw the pinned comment I was about to congratulate or console you on the pregnancy, and as I was typing I remembered Covid tests... So, sorry about the Covid, I guess...
Funny thing is, the avatar I commissioned (from the amazing @msipher on twitter) came with tons of customizable options already, I just made a few essentials so I didn't get analysis paralysis with all the emote choices. But my co-editor wanted more options so I let them whip up some more 😅
I think the Japanese voice acting might need to get a pass here as Japanese uses pitch accent (rather the stress accent used in English). This means that you cannot stress words in the same way you can in English as it would make your Japanese sound bouncy and unnatural. But if you do listen carefully, you can hear the Japanese voice actor do a slight tweak to their pitch when Ash's month changes.
I do not like misty as a character. What she did was wine.Don't let me start in a chronicle stink.Cause if they brought that up the hack , we'll show that would make more sense
