richard allowing his horrible mom to disrespect his wife and daughter in his own home is so embarrassing. he's a grown man and can't even stand up to her. the fact that he even laughed and went along with the endless unwarranted criticism is worse.

This interaction is just peak WASP.....they are so weirdly disconnected from each other. She talks to these girls like they she's interviewing for a maid, not talking to her own flesh and blood! haha
